...Hourou Musuko... it's getting an anime this season, and as soon as Colly and I discovered it was about actual trannies, not just comedic gimmicky crossdressers, it was a must watch, but... there's an obvious pairing there, looking forward to it actually happening, but then they pair off the main... guy? girl? ...They pair Nitori off with someone else, and I want nothing more than to see them break up, so I read the manga because I wanted them to break up, and then I couldn't stop reading it, and...

Now there's no more... and they still aren't together yet... all I want is my Trap x Reverse Trap; is that so much to ask? This Will They or Won't They is too much... I should've waited for it to end so I could have binged through it... now I'm waiting on a monthly released manga instead of just a weekly anime...

This is the worst...

Don't watch... an anime labeled Hourou...

Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."

Madoka's on my must watch list along with Gosick and a couple other new shows, but I'm waiting for the end of the season so I can watch them straight through.

Watched a little G Gundam last night. I watched the whole series as a little kid, so I thought I could be a little nostalgic and watch some more for old time's sake. It was quite a great series, all in all.

I really need to finish season 1. I feel like I'm the only girl stateside who loves this series.

Is now rewatching Sailor Moon! It's just another nostalgic anime I grew up with, plus all my friends (who happen to be girls) encourage me to watch it. I don't care if the anime is girly, the show is still a beast!

A whole flock of high school anime girls in tight-fitting clothes and miniskirts, plus lesbians. How is that girly?

Anyways, a new season of anime is up and we'll be following Nichijou and Toriko. Nichijou being a somewhat trippy slice of life filled with moe blobs, and Toriko being... the exact opposite of that. Also, food.

This season is going to be fun.

Toriko doesn't interest me too much. They had the first three chapters of the manga in Shonen Jump as a preview and it didn't really hook me. But, then again, the Death Note preview didn't hook me either so maybe I'll give it another chance later on. Right now, I've still got a bunch of old shows to catch up on before I start a lot of new ones.

So far? Toriko seems something like this to me...

Yakitate!! Japan and Gurren Lagann had a baby. They named it Toriko.

The preview of Toriko definately wasn't anywhere close to Gurren Lagann levels of epicness, but I suppose it could get there... But when it comes to cooking anime, I like it better when I can actually make the food myself.

Double post and all but anyway, I've got a question for Silver. I saw on your My Anime List (I really should add mine to my signature sometime) that you recently watched Lyrical Nanoha and I was just wondering how it is. The had merchandise for the new movie everywhere in Japan, so I'm kinda curious.

Ah, Nanoha. I'll definitely rate it as over-rated. I don't think it deserves quite the level of hype it gets. That's not to say it isn't worth watching though... It's definitely a classic already, fun cast of characters, decent enough story, and I suppose it revolutionized the Magical Girl genre. But see... we watched the DVD version. I doubt it was like it in TV, but... the transformation scene... I feel like that's the only reason it's so popular...

Also, Madoka is almost a direct deconstruction, so if you ever intend to watch Madoka (which you should!) I'd suggest watching Nanoha first. Or... after? I guess it doesn't matter, but if you watch one, watch the other as well.

Speaking of Magical Girl anime, Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura are the only two I'm interested in. I didn't like Shugo Chara (not my type) though Madoka does seem interesting, so why not try it later?

Is Gurren Lagann good, by the way? I'm not into mecha anime, and my friend is obsessed with it.

Yes, watch Madoka. Everyone watch Madoka. It's nothing like your typical magical girl series... and yet it is? Well, no other anime to date has generated as much discussion on 2ch as Madoka, and there's also a buttload of great joke material. Though if everyone does watch it, I'll have to deal with Colly asking people to form contracts here, on Facebook, and IRL... ah, well. I control the Homura FB page for a reason. Great series, thinking back on it Cardcaptor Sakura is a good enough basis of Magical Girls to understand why it's so twisted.

Also, I'm not much a fan of mech either, but Gurren Lagann always felt more like your typical shounen than mech to me. Like... Mechs are usually all, zipping around in space, firing lasers and all... same old stuff all the time. Gurren Lagann was like, transformations and DRILLS and charging power levels and punching stuff in the face and DRILLS. Most people don't even refer to it as a "Mech" series, it's "Super Robot". Which is somehow different.

Think of it like Shounen though. If you like Shounen, you'll like TTGL.
