Unknown Nothingness

Aeria walked into the room first. She blinked at all the assembled people, especially at the guy with fire dancing around his hand. Then she noticed Tikawa and Artemis. "Oh. Hi guys. I've been looking around for you two." She smiled at them, then glanced around again. "Er...why does everyone look like they're about to attack someone?"

"Possibly because they didn't know who was coming down the hall," Acantha told her, a small smile playing about her lips. She peered past the Featherite's wings. "My, very assorted group we've got here."

"You know these two?" said Raphael, coming out of his shadow-form. "I don't like the looks of that....demon." said Raphael, looking at Acantha.

Artemis kept her blade drawn but lowered it towards the ground. "Actually, we only know the Featherite."

Gil also kept his blade drawn and went towards the wall to lean back against it and observe the occurring events.

"Actually, I didn't know her myself until we met a few seconds ago." Aeria sidled next to Artemis, looking back at Acantha curiously. "Why did you follow me again?"

Ignoring the question for now, Acantha faced everyone in the room. "I believe an introduction would improve the atmosphere in here," she commented casually. "My name is Acantha Kurosawa. As you can see, I'm a demon. I followed the Featherite because she was keen on finding you two." She indicated Artemis and Tikawa. "I was also interested because I heard the Dragonian say the first syllable of the Crusade." She smiled, rather coldly. "Don't worry. I'm not here on their orders. I've taken a vow to stamp them all out. I only thought it'd be more...efficient if I joined a rebel group already in existence than fighting them on my own."

Raven lowered his hands, uncasting the fireball.

"Well... if your friends of theres, or, at least, enemies of the crusade, you're welcome here..."

Tikawa glanced over to Acantha and lifted a brow.

Raphael did not put away his daggers. "So.....you here some one say 'cru' and you assume they mean crusade?" sais Raphael. "This is odd." he thought for a moment. "Which, by the way, goes to show that your lips must be tighter from here on out."

"Well, it seems we've had a healthy dose of luck...", Gil commented, showing a small smile.

"Yeah! Our little group has grown...we've joined with a larger group and picked up a few new members along the way. If we keep finding more people who detest the Scarlet Crusade, we just might stand a chance against them.", Artemis said.

Acantha shrugged. "Hey. How many other words around here start with 'cru'? Besides perhaps crucial or crush. However, you'll recall the bartender there cut off the Dragonian when he said it. Now, if he had been saying any other word starting with those three letters, would he have been cut off? Additionally, the Dragonian said two other words: 'against the'. Now if I hadn't become interested, I'd be a fool indeed."

"You know, she has a point..." Aeria looked around her. "So now that we've found a couple more people for our cause, what'll we do? Somehow walk around town and find even more without alerting the Crusade?"

Tikawa was thinking.

"Wait... Didnt I blow up the headquarters...?"

Raven rubbed his chin.

"Well... in this town at least... if we want to permanently put an end to the Crusade, then we're going to have move on to the other cities..."

"Travel was unavoidable. The Crusade has infected countless villages throughtout this kingdom and a few others. If we thought that only this village was under their rule, we'd have been fools indeed.", Gil said, borrowing the phrase that Acantha had coined.

"I don't think we have enough members to start moving around right now. If we did, we'd be crushed almost as soon as we entered town. The Crusade is bound to have spies and other eyes posted around here. We're just really lucky that we ended up here with Raven.", Artemis said.

"So, naturally, us being able to destroy this outpost means it clearly isn't possible to destroy other outposts. I see your reasoning now." Raphael said sarcastically.

"...", Artemis couldn't form a verbal reply. The swellings of tears formed in her eyes and she soon started crying audibly.

"How dare you make a girl cry!", Gil cried. He moved quickly to Artemis' side and whispered something to her, trying to calm her down. "It's okay..."

"Oh, what a spectacular rebel force we have here." said Raphael. "I think I'm starting to aggree with you, Sir Mage." he scoffed.

Raven brought his hand up and began to rub his temples softly.

"How many here have actually been in a true war..."

Tikawa just watched Gil and Artemis, then looked over to Raven. He oculdn't say anything. He's never seen battle.
