"Damn it, can't we get to Vahallo and rest up without another battle?"

"Obviously not."

"Shut up."

*Mustadio, meanwhile, had already begun shooting at the flying spirits but the damage seemed to be hardly slowing them.*

*Josiah sighed heavily. He only had two flying monsters and he was riding on one of them.* "Go Raydion! Let's end this quick, Wrath of God!" *The power of a legendary attack was usually enough to take out considerable numbers of normal enemies but, when the light faded...*

"Holy fudge crackers!" *Twenty of the Moen spirits still remained airborne and most look to be in pretty good condition.*

"Looks like this isn't going to be that easy."

*Surprisingly, Josiah was grinning.* "Now that's what I call high defense and I could use a Wind spirit. I got to catch one!"

((Ugh! I have been gone far too long. I wish I had my own seperate Internet. So much has happened. And David did NOTHING in the last chapter. Oh well, I guess it's my fault. Time to continue.
I don't want David to be found too easily, I want to add more to the story, you know? I think everything has been going so fast. And I dont want this to end.
Man, I couldn't think of much, again. Damn writers block.))

CHAPTER 8-B: BRUSH WITH DEATH

"Flame Wing Toshi!" *Toshi's wings started to burn and struck several of the monsters, but only two of them fell to the ground* "Fudge Crackers! These things are strong..."

"ah! This is useless! Our monsters are to tired, we have to escape"
"an run away??"
"Yes! Josiah! Please! Use you flash type move!"
Josiah noded "Got ya, one blinding light coming up!"

The light became intencely bright
"NOw! everyone! Scatter!"
All the monsters flew in different directions and thn regroup, the mangaed to land in the forest below, out of sight before the light faded, the Moenspirts could not see them in the undergrowth and flew past
"I suggest we walk the rest of the way"
Jeff noded "Good idea"

"You guys walk." *Josiah jumped back on Night Wing.* "I'm gonna catch one of those things!" *Before the others could protest he soard back up into the air and was instantly set upon by the remaining moen spirits. "I can't catch one when they're all attacking me..." *Josiah waited till one of the creatures swept down for an attack.* "Night Wing, use Shadow Shroud on the big group of them!"

*All the spirits except the one right next to Night Wing were engulfed in a dark fog. Knowing it wouldn't last long, Josiah spurred Night Wing on towards Vahallo with the lone Moen spirit on his tail.*

"Ok... Regular attacks aren't doing much good, these things survived a Wrath of God... Maybe if I... Ice Queen!" *Josiah's summoned spirit balanced precariously on top of Night Wing.* "Hit its wings with Freezedown!" *In seconds the monster's wings were encased in ice. It plummeted towards the ground with a shreik as Night Wing swooped down after it. The Moen Spirit hit a tree with a loud crash.* "Now!" *Josiah threw a card, capturing it.* "Yes! Uh oh..." *He spotted the remaining spirits in the distance and quickly urged Night Wing to full speed.*

*After reaching Vahallo, Josiah purified his new card then hung out at the shrine waiting for the others to arrive. He had been in such a hurry that he'd left Virgo with them, he hoped she wasn't too worried.*

Shauni and the others were trounderling threw the forest, hacking there way threw the undergrowth
"I cant beleve he would do something so errisonsible!"
"Well? Cant we fly now??"
Shauni tured at silver and gave him a look that even silence him
jeff nuged him "No, Josiah might have made it but there still out there, we need a shrine or SOMETHING!"
Silver frowned "eah, fine...we will walk"
It was another couple of hours before they finaly reahced the town
Josiah came walking over to them, clean and refeched
"Hay guys! What kept you?" he said chearly
shauni snapped at him
"DONT YOU EVER PULL A STUNT LIKE THAT EVER AGAIN! YOU HERE ME!"
Josiah smiled orquadly "ermmm....ok...sorry.."
Virgo when over and huged him, which suppirsed him
"I thought you might have been hurt"
He smiled back at her, going silight red
shauni side, and looked away "Shrine, NOW!"

*Josiah dropped back next to Jeff, Silver, and Mustadio.*

"What's her problem?" *He pointed at Shauni.*

"Just a long walk I think."

"Or maybe it's her" *Jeff shot Silver a look, instantly shutting him up.*

"Did you really catch one of those things?"

"Yeah, check it out!" *Josiah showed them the Armor Dragon card.* "I got a spirit for every element now."

"How'd you catch it?"

"Froze its wings then threw my card right after it crashed into a tree. I was lucky I was able to lose the rest of them though."

"Next time you'd better take me along!" *Virgo admonished.* "If anything would have happened to you..."

"Sorry about that. I won't leave you behind again, promise."

*They arrived at the shrine. Shauni was already at the top of the stairs.* "Everyone inside now!" *The boys sighed and ran to catch up.*

*Jeff hurries towards the bedrooms and flops down on one of the beds. Within 5 minutes he was fast asleep.*

"Aww... the poor guy must be sacked."
"Yeah, we had a long day."
"Well you guys just lay down and rest. If you need anything don't hesitate to ask."

*The rest of them followed suit and layed down to rest. The all fell asleep quickly.*

shauni had charmed down now, she was just upset with Josiah because she was so worried about him, which mad her angry at him, but it was out of concern. It was just her way
She walked over to him
"Im sorry I yelled at you, i was just upset you took shuck a stuiped risk"
Josiah smiled "Its ok, Im sorry I made you all worry so much"
"I anything were to happen to any of you....."
she looked away, a tear forming in her eye
Jeff suddenly awoke from his sleep, as if he knew she was upset, and walked over to her and gave her a hug
She looked up, tears still streaming but Jeffs hug had made her smile
"Thank you"

*Shockingly enough, the group actually managed to get a full night's sleep without anything attacking them. Unfortunately, none of the people they asked had seen David. They still needed to find both him and Vorma/Leo before they could challenge Moen. Of course Vormav would probably find them on his own but who knew where David might have ended up. Virgo and Mustadio were simply content to listen to the others discuss matters.*

"So, what now?" *Silver alternated talking and stuffing his face with food.*

"We could just go around randomly and hope we stumble across something important."

"Although we might have a better chance if we split up."

"Yeah but if Vormav or part of Moen's army attacks while we're seperated..."

"You know Shauni, I've been thinking. Have you ever tried to contact the hacker?"

"No, she's dead remember?" *She glared at him.*

"Maybe. Think back, you were about to contact her for some help when we were fighting Gemini but you never tried cause Gemini said she was dead. What if they said that just to keep you from trying?"

*The others looked stunned for a moment.*

"You know, he's got a good point."

"Don't I always?"

"Not really, no."

*Josiah glared at Silver.* "Although, the game has changed so much since its creation I doubt that hacker still has the powers she had two years ago, assuming she's still alive. Still, if she's alive and if we can contact her she might have some useful information. Just something to think about."

"But it still doesn't help the main issue. We need to find David and the last zodiac shard."

*The group sighed. Things were never easy.*

"Im not sure if it will work, but Im willing to try. We need some allies now, we are really running thin on the ground at the moment, as we are, we dont stand a chance...."
Shauni pulled her PDA out of her pocket and began to type

"We heared you were dead. Please help us, we are in trouble. Moen is back, and very powerful. We also need to find David
Can you help us....please"

She send of the msg, and they all sat and waited....and waited....
an hour passed, and shauni had almost began to return the PDA to her pocket when it beeped
"Wha!" she yelled in suprise, and quickly wiped it out
"A msg!"
"Is its the hacker??"
"Wait, let me see"
"Its from her e-mail address, but....its not right...."
"Ill read it out"

"I.... hacked into.....Dark.... steal.......
To ....Moen.....Find gold bar....silver coin....Jewish draddle....nobal blood....datas drain....
In every breath.... death moen...... shadow......
Codo....travil to the north....the Final shrine.....purify blackness

Every one was silent
"Thats it, the msg is fractured, bits are missing...."
"Well?Is she dead or alive??"

"Well... it says "hacked into Dark." I'm willing to bet that means she hacked into the dark world, which would explain why only part of the message got through."
"And we got the part about the items..."
"'In every breath?' It's gotta be something about killing Moen, with a Shadow? Wait! ...I got nothing."
"And Codo, so I guess we'll need his help."
"The Final Shrine..."
"That can't be good! Final is never good! Especially with a plot this short!"
"In the north, darn. We haven't gone too far north so we don't exactly know much about that area."
"Purify Blackness? Well that's dumb. Unless that's a metaphor and blackness means evilness, in which case it probably means we're gonna need to beat Moen with Light and goodness and all that happy fudge crackers."
"Will you stop talking already? Wait..."
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure there are all these characters from Final Fantasy which is closely related to Kingdom Hearts and..."
"You skipped a line. Rikku's mix!"
"Go back to that part about the Shadow."

"Wait a sec guys." *Josiah frowned.* "First we can't be sure that e-mail is really from the hacker. It could be a trick from Moen. And there's so many words missing that that we can't tell the exact meaning. Also, sorry Jeff but it can't be the original way to beat Moen. For one thing the message mentions too many things that don't belong in this game. Us, Rikku, Virgo, none of it was part of the original game. Besides, Moen is just a final boss, you were probably just supposed to fight him..." *Josiah trailed off for a moment.* "Assuming the message is legit, I think she's talking about the Dark World. It's not supposed to be part of the game either. Maybe she's trying to tell us how to purify or destroy it."

"Only way to tell for sure is to go charge the PDA."

"But it's six days each way, we don't have time for that. Not with Moen's army spread all over the world. Besides, what Josiah says makes sense. If he's right about the Dark World then it can wait. We do need to do something about the Dark World but for now our priorities shoudl be finding David, getting the Leo shard, destroying Moen's army, and then destroying Moen himself. The Dark World can wait."

Shauni looked awau from them, she new EXACTLY what the msg had ment, but she wasnt going to tell the others yet, she had to wait until codo had found the Final Shrine in the north. He would then send her a signal...somehow.
"I sujest we keep on after Moen, worry about this later"
"Are we all agreed the?"
"Yes.....I suppose"
"Then let us rest a ltiile more until Sunrise, then we head out again..."
