So, Silver, you've finally become a crazy cat lady? Jealous.
bwhaha, I was thinking the same thing. Might wanna think about getting a few fixed, as Cats are a "love the one your with" animal and you might start getting inbreeding.

We used to have a hedgehog that came into our garden that we used to feed, it came back for three summers and slept in our garden over winter. It didn't come back one year, hope it found someone else to feed it our it is just sad to think about.

We called it "Tiggy-Winkle" after the Hedgehog from Peter Rabbit.

Hi! Back when my family lived pretty far out in the country we had a cat that showed up at our house one day. A real friendly one too. I assume it must have once belonged to someone, but it was a strange place to find one considering how far away we were from other houses. We took care of it for a little while but my dad has a lot of patients who are allergic so we eventually gave it to someone in town. We also had, strangely enough, a turkey that hung out around our house for a while (probably an escaped one, since I don't think they're native to Colorado). We used to feed it and it would even let itself be petted. Not sure what happened to it, it just stopped coming by eventually.

Oh, trust me, we're well aware of that. For right now there's no problems, because we've got a real aggressive Tom cat that hangs around and certainly won't let any sons get with their mothers, and none of his daughters are old enough yet. We're planning on taking all the girls in as soon as they're done raising their current kittens.

Aside from these guys, when we lived out in the woods, we found some kittens once... two of them sitting out in the woods and crying, which can't mean anything other than some person couldn't find homes for them and dumped them out in the woods rather than taking them to a shelter. We kept one and brought the other one in. But then when we moved, the people who bought our house brought their three big ol' German Shepherds which scared her off and we couldn't find her. Apparently they've been keeping her though.

3 German Shepherds? God I can't imaging the fair. We had one short haired one and we had to hover twice a day to stop hair balls rolling around our wooden floor.

we once had a racing pigeon show up in our garden, it looked like it had been attached. We started feeding it and it came back every day. it eventually let us pick it up and we took it to a guy that raises them near where we live. He got it back to full health, and then a month later the little bugger came back twice the size lol. I think the guy found the owner and mailed him back.

An Aunt of mine rescued a duck and raised it until it flew of and never came back. Grateful huh lol

Some of the chickens from the old farm down the road used to get out and wonder around the bottom of our housing estate as well. Funny site two as its a town, so they looked really out of place. It's gone now that farm but I saw a chicken last week, which really confused me

Hi! You've got a lot of wild chickens wandering around some parts of Hawaii (especially on the island of Kauai, where they're sorta the replacement for pigeons). Basically a bunch of domestic chickens escaped when their pens were busted during a big storm a long time ago and they just sort of spread since there aren't really any preditors. Kinda weird seeing chickens walking around everywhere.

The weirdest thing I ever saw were some lamas in a field I assumed still had cows. Its still really rare to see them in the UK, lama farms i mean, so I was very surprised when at first glance I though "what the hell is wrong with that donkey?" lol

I'm glad I don't live in the US though, when i was over there on my holidays the bull frogs creeped me out, and when I saw vultures eating road kill and crocs in the ponds I kinda went white.

I'm lucky if I see a fox, and I've never scene a wild deer or badger (those being the biggest things I can think of wild in the UK)

We have frogs and toads, but they got nothing on Bull Frogs... burgh!

Hi! I'll note that bullfrogs and vultures only live in certain parts of the country. I've never seen them very often. A lot of people in Colorado do raise lamas though (though they're not native to the US). In fact, one of my family's neighbors had some. They kept getting out of their pen and running around.

LOL Lamas run like Bambi

I'm going back to collage this year to do art and creative writing, lost my mojo with both and though some courses might help.

Moi,

Well, the first day of junior year wasn't that bad. My schedule is very chaotic, but I'll get used to it eventually.

Shauni, you've never seen a wild deer? Take some of mine! In Upstate NY, there are deer everywhere. I've seen an occasional fox and raccoon as well, but much less often then deer.

So, uhh..."Gangnam Style" by PSY. Has anyone else gotten addicted to it? Please? Tell me I'm not the only one? (If you haven't seen the music video or heard it yet, do look it up on YouTube. It's well worth the lawls.)

Yeah...can't write too much because it's early and I'm getting ready to head off to school. Thought I'd give my fingers a bit of a warm up by writing a bit. Believe it or not, I think posting on various forum sites like this have actually made me more confident in typing and writing essays and such in school. So yeah. Thanks for that!

Stay radical people. Peace off!

That's sort of strange that you've never seen a deer... I know there are some types that live in England. Though, hunting's pretty big over there, right? Maybe that's why you don't see them... They're pretty common in South Jersey, too. We keep a birdfeeder, and we'll often have deer come and eat all the seeds that get spilled onto the ground. They're pretty harmless (unless you're driving) so it's not so bad running into them... I could understand being freaked out about crocodiles, though I believe the only part of the U.S. you can find them in is Florida. Watch out, Josiah! ...I can tell you for sure I've never see one in the Pine Barrens anyway. The biggest wild creature I've seen is a deer, but apparently there used to be wild black bears in my area. Not so much anymore though, gotta go into the mountains for that now.

Poison, I see your Gangnam Style, and I raise you one GUNDAM Style! Unfortunately, the full version keeps getting taken down for copyright, but there are downloads linked in the video description there. I can assure you there's no viruses, as I have downloaded from this same source. Unless you're running a Mac anyway and it's got some weird Mac virus... then I can't make any promises.

It's been a generally accepted fact that hanging out around here improves grammar and spelling, so I don't see why it wouldn't help with general writing, huh? And glad to hear you're going back to school, Shauni! Go get those college degrees!

Hello!

I think there may have been a misunderstanding here...i've not sceen wild deer. I've scene loads in country house estates and stuff, but they are technically captive as there movements are restrictive and they are feed.

Hunting happens, but only one hunting seasons. and even then it is regulated. You can't just go out and hunt deer whenever you want. There is only hunting for population control and obviously guns aren't everywhere due to the law, so I'd say less than 10% of the UK population actually hunt/ have gone hunting. I don't know anyone who has.

I'm still in employment as the courses are part time, like my Sign Language last year. I was going to do the Level Two but the collage isn't doing languages due to budget cuts and the nearest place is two far away for evening classes.

Well, no, I was referring to wild deer; I'd assumed you had seen a live deer before, be it in a park or a zoo or whatever. But I would assume that the native species exist in the wild and unless you've never traveled outside a heavily populated area, odds are you'd have encountered them at some point unless they're all terribly endangered.

Hi! Let's see, what wild animals have I seen? To keep this simple, I won't include insects, birds, fish, or roadkill. Note that locations are only the places I've seen them, not neccassarily everywhere they live.

In the US:
Deer (various types) (everywhere)
Elk (Colorado, Wyoming)
Moose (Wyoming)
Mountain Goat (Colorado)
Gazelle (Colorado and Utah)
Buffalo/Bison (Wyoming)
Black Bear (just once in Colorado)
Wolf (rarely in Colorado)
Fox (rarely in Colorado and Utah)
Porkupine (a couple of times in Colorado)
Squirrel (nearly everywhere)
Chipmunk (nearly everywhere)
Rabbit (various types) (nearly everywhere)
Racoon (east coast)
Prairie Dog (Colorado, Utah, Arizona)
Skunk (nearly everywhere)
Armadillo (Florida)
Turtle (various types) (all over the east coast and in Arizona)
Assorted Non-Poisonous Snakes (nearly everywhere)
Sea Lion (California)
Whale (Hawaii)
Alligator (Florida)
Assorted frogs and toads (nearly everywhere)
Assorted lizards and newts (nearly everywhere)

Other countries:
Seal (New Zealand)
Snow Monkey (Japan)

I think that's a pretty complete list... I might have also glimpsed a Tanooki in Japan, but didn't get enough of a look to be sure, and I probably saw some possoms in West Virginia as a kid but I don't remember.

Turtle (Some demesticated type was dumped in a lake near where I work and now they are reproducing. There the type that live in water)
Horses

US, The one time I was there
Alligator (Florida)
Assorted frogs and toads (nearly everywhere)
Assorted lizards and newts (nearly everywhere)

Other countries:
I can't even remember LOL

Note how much shorter mine is LOL

I'd say deer only live in really deeply dense woodland. I have been in the countryside loads of times but never so deep in the woods to see one.

Ive scene a for real Heron. Those are pretty rare.
