Diamond/Pearl
Well, since I lost my original teams from Sapphire awhile back, I gotta retrain them all...so I will be awhile before I have my awesome team back up D;
But, I think we should at least set a few rules...My friends and I use to play about the same rules as battle tower...so no Uber legendaries and no using more then one of the same hold item. Other then that, it sounds good. Myself, I never use starters and legendaries in my team anyways since they are so overused and such.
Oh and I have a question if anyone knows the answer. Pokemon still have there personallities like GBA...but does anyone know how the other trait thing they have now effects tehre stats? It close to the bottom, right above what kind of berries they like. Some are like "Is Proud of his power" or "Runs away alot" etc etc. Anyone know? D;

i would like to wait a while on a tournament. right now i'm working on my pokedex, and i still don't have any idea who i'm going to use on my competetive team. (well i have an idea)
also, is anyone interested in a double battle tournament, once everything gets together? i've been looking into double battle strategies and i'd really like to have som sort of competition.

So we'll have a tournament eventually but we'll wait a while till more people are ready. A double battle tournament is a possibility too but I prefer single battles. We can always have tournaments for both.
Personally, I never saw the point in the 'no duplicate hold items' rule. What's it really matter if two guys in my party are holding the same item? None of the items are so powerful that it'd really make a difference.
As for the legendary rule... Of all the legendaries, Deoxys is the only one I'd call potentially too powerful for a tournament, all the others aren't that much stronger than good regular pokémon. Doexys, on the other hand, can either have attack power so high that it can one hit KO anything (although in that form it's got absolutely no defense so anything else can one hit KO it) or defense so high that nothing does any real damage (although then it's attack is extremely pathetic). One of the reasons legendaries are so tough in the games is that they're usually a much higher level than you are plus you're trying to capture them, not KO them. Although if everyone else really wants to ban legendaries I suppose that's ok, but I'd certainly miss my Mew.

Actually, I've had more success taking on entire teams with my Starmie than any of the legendaries I've used... Most of them aren't that hard to kill if you try. Although I suppose it depends on your team.
As for Leftovers, they only heal about 15 HP per turn. It helps a little but I can't see them making a huge difference in a battle.

I REALLY need to get a Wi-Fi thing soon...
So at the moment I'm in the process of leveling up my Manyula (Ao Kiji) and Pidgeot (Pell... yay for One Piece names! My Azelf is Luffy because it's the Willpower Pokemon XD) Since they're going to be honorary Team members basically (Ao Kiji only because he knows False Swipe, but hey...) I have no issue with the outlawing of legendaries... but they really aren't that much better than normal Pokemon, and if everyone's allowed to use them, the playing field could be perfectly level.
Hee hee, I love my Pell. At level 33 he could survive a Thunderbolt from a Pikachu ten levels higher, then go in for the kill with a Quick Attack despite being paralyzed... so he's just like the character he was named after basically.

"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

At least you like your pokemon.
My Gastradon is a RETARD. If it's confused, it will hurt itself 100% of the time. If it's Paraylzed, it'll be paraylzed 100% of the time. If i'm trying to catch a wild pokemon with it, it'll KO it with a critical hit 100% of the time. Ugh, I liked it better when it was a Shellos >> When it evolved, it changed big time.
My fav is my Luxio. Pretty Obediant.

Dialga's Dragon/Steel, so it's not even weak to Dragon... however, it's weak to Ground and Fighting, so it was completely useless in Victory Road. As was Empoleon. And Graveler, which is also weak to Ground and Fighting. That's why my Lopunny (Which is also weak to fighting, but Fran just pwns so she could handle it) and Staraptor are like ten levels higher than everyone else.
Aaaand I just spelled it out for everyone that the majority of my team is weak to Ground and Fighting. Changed my mind, I'm not interested in any tournaments... Though I suppose soon enough, I'll have both Pell AND Mori to deal with those pesky Ground and Fighting types.

I figure a 6 pokémon team for a tournament. I mean three is ok but you need six to get a really good battle going. Plus, it'd probably be good if everyone posted their team before the start of the tournament and is not allowed to change it. Kinda eliminates the element of surprise but it does even the playing field.
Hey Opal, once you get that item post your friend code and let me know when you want to get on and trade. I've got a Celebi waiting for you.
