I have been P.O.ed ever scince Toonami ended. I mean, Tom looked great before the final update, I'm angry, and nothing can ever replace Toonami. Toonami showed the most anime, like Ryu Kenshin, Hack, and a lot more. Good Job CN, for ramming my childhood up my ass.

Dude, I know how ya feel, I ocassionally hear the outlaw star end theme in my head and sing it a little, even though ten years have passed since I last seen the show,when they stopped showing ryu kensin on toonami, and cyborg 009, I'd stay up till midnight to watch it! That, and I still sing the ryu kenshin theme in the shower, I've sung it so much that I have the voice patterns down, which is scary, I also miss Tenchiu Muyo, One of the best shows ever.

Small rant.

Okay, so my friend's been doing resarch on Islam and Roman Catholosism for a research paper. No big deal. Well, his paper is on how women were treated in either religon. In Islam, women are basically nothing. 99% are supposed to go to Hell, and the 1% that go to heven live just to please the men. There's also some other stuff that I'd rather not go into.
Strict Roman Catholics say that women should have no position of power. The guy who wrote the paper my friend was reading thought that we have problems with modern day society, letting women have positions in politics.
So, I really don't care what a bunch of people wrote, but after this my friend was joking around on how he's better than me because he's a guy. He was saying stuff like "I'm superior to you." and "Get me a smoothie, because I'm superior." He's brought that up briefly before, and it's always bugged me a bit even though I knew he was joking, but today for some reason it was really bugging me. I KNOW he's joking, but sexist comments just really bug me. Me 'n' my friends are constantly teasing each other, and I'm always fine unless it includes stuff about males being superior. Then, the comments start to hurt, though I don't show it.
I dunno....maybe I'm being too sensitive but I wish he'd stop. It's really annoying.

Well then you could reply about how Females are actually superior. There are many religions on earth that actually worship female dieties as opposed to Male ones. Many worship both. Often the female ones are considered much more powerful (for different reasons)

But then you could always point out that Females are actually tougher. It's a scientific fact. Women can handle much more pain than men (eg childbirth, tattoos). They are also better at things such as multitasking, they mature quicker (physically and mentally- that is their bodies and their actual brains).

In nature (other than humans... and birds) The females are generally larger and many(all?) species of spiders and insects (which vastly outnumber humans so could probably be considered the real dominant species on the planet) and end up EATING the male once their's done with them... So who's got the real power there?

Lionesses do all the hunting and the childrearing while the male lions just sit there and... what exactly do they do? Groom their manes?

Also, if the Catholics are soooo against having a woman in power, how do the Catholics in Britain (and there are a lot of them) handle having a Queen? It's not just Britain either... anyone in the Commonwealth (including Australia, Canada etc.)

I'm not one of those crazy feminists or anything, but there are so many points to come back at this guy with. Don't let sexist comments get on your nerves. He's just jealous that one of his chromosomes is defective...

Hold up. Roman Catholics say women shouldn't hold any position of power? I'm Roman Catholic and I have never heard anything about this. It could either be one of those things we decided to stop doing, or it could be something the orthodox cristians do.

By the way, I've read that Mass Hystaria is more common in women than in men. Example:The Salem witch trials.

I've tried agruing with him, but then he starts making an argument that makes no sense at all, but he acts as if it does. When I tell him he's making no sense, he ignores me and just continues arguing. Really. He just waits until you get bored with arguing, and then wins the argument with something that makes no sense at all. It's practically impossible to win an agrument against him, because he'll never give up and hates to admit when he's wrong.
If I brought up the animals in nature thing, he'd probably say "So? We're human and we should follow our religion above nature." or something among those lines.

Then said person will continue just to make up random crap off the top of his head then argue it as if it's scientifically proven fact or something THEN when you prove him wrong he just sits there in silence or starts ignoring you.

But anyway. You said that he may say that humans should hold religion over nature or something... if so, then you can point out that most religions actually worship Godesses (women) over men anyway. It's all about which religion you're talking about. Who said the Roman Catholics are right anyway?

Whoa, think you're going a bit overboard there, its all about balance, we need each other. If it were a one-needs-the-other-and-one-doesn't scenario, there's a pretty good chance males wouldn't exist at all.
And SK, I know how you feel, I've grown up actually in the opposite of that; in my house, its the females rules, end of story. Not very fun to be a guy.

How it works for me is you continue to prove him wrong, he continues to make up random crap that makes no sense, and then you just want to give it up so you don't start getting really mad at each other (I wouldn't jepordize a friendship for some stupid argument) but he won't give up until you admit you're wrong, when there's no possible way you're actually wrong.
I'd prefer it if he ignored me. Then I'd just be cheering silently that I won the argument.

Yeah, I never got the point of gender discrimination at all. It's not like we choose our gender, and it's not like it determines our personality. I wonder how long I can keep this up... Everything I know, I learned from anime.

Ok, that's a rant for a different time and place. Or... never and nowhere...

Well, while I'm here, I'm gonna comment on something that was said before...

The real reason for a relationship like that is supposedly getting to know someone better that you think you might later want to marry.

See, from here you could argue, what's the real reason for marriage? Seems to me, the first thing people do when they're married is... well yeah. And what next? Children. As if there aren't enough people on the planet already! I tend to think the institution was created as a way to populate the earth way back when there were less people than continents... while still avoiding incest and disease as much as possible.

Not to mention... it's plenty easy to love someone without wanting to date or marry them. If you just scrap the physical part completely, leave out the romance... isn't that somehow more romantic?

EDIT: Silver here. I stand by every thing I said. Really. Words to live by. I just don't live by them anymore, because I fail. There's just... something about her, you know? It's still not like I... Even still I don't really have... those kind of feelings. It's just that... I want to be close to her. And to protect her. More than anything... It's not like I thought it would be. A totally different feeling... it's a weakness, you know. She's my weakness. So when I found out that... that she liked me too, well... I caved. But that doesn't mean any of you should! Relationships are horrible, they make people do stupid things, and I have never been happier in my life! W-wait, let me try that again...

Wednesday is sixth months. <3 Colly-Chan~

EDIT AGAIN: What happened to me? First off, I have to admit: the physical part of a relationship... is kinda nice. I was never a huggy-touchy kinda person, but God, there's just no feeling quite like holding her in my arms and kissing her cheek... like walking around hand-in hand... or like curling up next to her to watch Higurashi late at night. It's not... what's really important, but it is a really, really nice perk. And second... when did I start to go back on my old motto? Even after I caved, I would at least tell other people that relationships were over-rated. I can't anymore. Right after a friend's break up, rather than telling her that she's better off single, I told her, "You've gotta fight for the girl you love, if you want her back!" With that same friend, I was at some point complaining about my job when I said, "My life sucks." She replied, "No it doesn't. At least you've got Colly!" I didn't even realize it, but she said I started smiling. Just thinking about her... even after a year! A whole year has passed, and I still just... smile.

Thinking about how she was before, I have to assume she feels the same. I may not be psychic, but I really think... I've made her happy, too. And that's what's important.
