If you look on the $1 dollar bill, and you see the number 13. You realize that M is the 13th letter in the alphabet. Take away one from 13 and you get 12 (Or L) Meanwhile on the word "Mason" if you rearrange the A to come before the M and flip the M to a W then add the L to come before A, you essentially get the following

13 = M - 1 = L + Mason changed to awson = LAWSON

If you take the letters of the English alphabet, remove all of them except A, L, N, O, S, and W, and then rearrange them you get Lawson!
