Poems of Happy, Love, Sorrow, Pain, and Death
Re: Poems of Happy, Love, Sorrow, Pain, and Death
Time Will Tick
By David Barnum
Will time tick to the click?
Answer a question without restriction?
Ideas that flow over the bow
Reaching the stars with a rocket tears
You wouldn't understand a word as a bird
Joke around people you wouldn't know
Crack a fountain
Leave it broken
Touch a candle in the sky
Even if you want to cry
Give a hand to those that care
Under your skin to shine there
Touch my face
Bang the base
With things that pass
We will walk in the grass
Give me your hand to touch
As we walk together without a rush
Beneath our feet
Wish to thee
To be
Or not to be
As a snowflake washes past you
Dying under the rain's dew
Gather my remains
Watch them give
Under me
To thee
Without you
For true
I'll wait for you forever
Till we see each other
A click will ticks
As a clock links
Me and you
Two with too

Motion
By David Barnum
Why does a heart bleed?
Never to take the last deed.
A memory in time
Takes too long for the blind
Your tears will dry soon
A beautiful face in the moon
The stars that dance around our heads
As we watch them on our beds
Throughout the nights we dream
Fantasy of love, and our doom

Re: Poems of Happy, Love, Sorrow, Pain, and Death
A Chance Without A Look
By David Barnum
Sometimes you will never know what's happening without looking at your hand
Even if the messes wouldn't stop your decision to feel the blinders bind
Without a heart to a life uncertain and unclear for either of us to know what is being told
I will never withstand the pressure without thinking of the outcomes that are turned to a word
Holding you tight in my arms without a touch of strength to soften the blow
Taking the time to know what you are thinking about us and going with the flow
Under a mind so think with judgment will overreact in rage or tears
A question that glances at us even if things come to a close with our fears
Gather your energy to overcome the challenges that come at our face
Whisper into thin air as the dark and light goes over to the thresh holds of the race
Voices of pain and sorrow dance as they soak over the streams of death
We walk without looking back at the footsteps that shine throughout the path
Hold me tight as we watch the sunset shine onto the sky
Together forever as we wait for the stars to shine until we say bye
Break My Heart
By David Barnum
Rough without respect
Time to tell
Forever in fear
Breaking the books
Everyday is ending
Like a lake
Gather you gear
Sorrow your sins
Without a wink
Peace to pray
By David Barnum

Try to Be
By David Barnum
Never to touch things with a feeling
Truth as it never leaves your being
Wish towards the stars to give you a sign
Breaths that will fade into the song and into a line
Under your skin, the icy wind will blow
Grabbing you into a light that will glow
Tilting in a direction to the sky
Sliding an inch forward as we fly
Undo the feelings as it never gives a chance
Open a door to another one as they dance
Leave the time as it clicks around the clock
The leaves will fall as the tree tilts its bark
Folds of love will come to a close
Give the heart on the grave a rose
Each time that flows from our fingers to the earth
Will never end till we start the death of our birth
Never take a chance to look back
The time will go as if it was in a sack
Alter the future of our pasts are let out from time
Were we wouldn't die from our mistakes just our bind

Truth As It Comes
By David Barnum
A heart will beat once for love and twice for pain
Without knowing your face that hits the rain
I wouldn’t live to see you smile at me
Walking towards your arms at will without a dance
The rain will drip onto us
Even if that heart has to cry
A drink from the red wine will flow
Just that it drips onto the arms of a chair
Gather your emotions as they tear from your body
Holding you again will never bury or burn
Just take my heart into your hands to hold and carry
Forever with you will never be if you just don’t say yes
Meaning of feelings will never love the powers of your heart
Love without the pleasure will cry onto itself
Wind of heat will drain into the river of heaven
Kick at the door that will never open to you but to us
Together in the arms of passion will never enter into the pain of the past
Summer time will flow just like the rain
Kissing your lips as the fruit juice drips into our mouths
The rich essences will thicken as with our love that will bloom
A heart will never dance alone without someone else there
Say that you love me for what I am
Not for what I am not and what I shall not be
Unearth the emotions that bind to the ground
I want you for a mind to understand
Even if that is a dream that will never come true
At least I will be there for you
Being Lonely Again
By David Barnum
Tears will tear down a wall
Hold the tears from coming out
A breath that will never come
A cry for those that you love so much
Gather the strength to move on
Even if you see the person you love with someone else
Love will end with a rose even for her
Tenderness of a pain so hard to deal with
Being there for someone is special
Just when that love isn’t there
Dripping wet with pleasure
That will never come to you forever
A heart that will bend and break
Open your life to someone you love
As without a word to be satisfied
They leave your side of the rope
Lonely birds of heaven above
Pulls you together at last
Inside a troubled heart that will break
Will sore through the skies never looking back
Lovers gather together without knowing
Noticing the raindrops that will never hit the ground
Feet that will bounce to the sound
Reach the path from the side
You wouldn’t find my heart by the dye
Again you wouldn’t care to look back
As I stand there waiting for your love
But nothing will come to me
As I stand here alone
Unable to forget your face
As it is kept in my grace
I want you to know how I feel about you
Just don’t go without the last words being said
That a life without your love
Will break the heart that binds to you
Reaching to a breath so deep
I will stay here forever in sleep

Re: Poems of Happy, Love, Sorrow, Pain, and Death
I don't know why I keep posting in here if I'm not going to get at least feedback or something. But I guess, I do post in here to get my ideas somewhere instead of lost in time or space. So here is something different that is not complete, not even close to being done, but I'll post it here anyway.
Without You
By David Barnum
Why don’t you listen to what I have to say?
What is it without you during the day?
Is there nothing I can do to be with you?
Will I be able to hold you tight and do the things we do?
Under a breath’s course will flow from the wind
Holding you tight and not letting you bend
I want to hold you tight
I promise I wouldn’t bite
Gather your love
I’ll be your dove
Just don’t leave me
All alone to see
I want to know what you’re thinking
I want to know what you’re feeling
I want to see you tonight
I want to hold you tight
Open your heart to us
I will not let you fuss
I want to be with you
Under the stars and the moon
I want to hold you tight
I promise I wouldn’t bite
Gather your love
I’ll be your dove
Just don’t leave me
All alone to see
Why is my heart aching for your touch?
Is it the way I see your eyes when you blush?
I don’t want to see you crying
In my arms we will be flying
Hold me tight with a kiss
Just don’t leave me in a mess
Without you will cause my heart to fail
Looking at you will cause me to tell
I want to hold you tight
I promise I wouldn’t bite
Gather your love
I’ll be your dove
Just don’t leave me
All alone to see
My feelings will always be for you
A rose in one hand and a bow too
But will you accept me in your world?
Would you take it with a hand?
What would you do if I gave you my heart?
Would you take it or steal it without a look back?
Do you want to touch the sky?
Will you be by my side?
I want to hold you tight
I promise I wouldn’t bite
Gather your love
I’ll be your dove
Just don’t leave me
All alone to see
A tear will stream down our faces
The rich wine that we drink in different places
Opening my feelings for you will never change
Even if I die with regret or be locked in a cage
Will you have the key?
To make my heart bleed
Without you will just tear my heart open
I’ll open my feelings to you even if they are broken
I want to hold you tight
I promise I wouldn’t bite
Gather your love
I’ll be your dove
Just don’t leave me

Torn to the Skin
By David Barnum
How does a soul cry to those that morn?
To not see those that care forever torn.
Feelings that will take time to come
Will not mind if the skin starts to run
Gather your strength without a cry
Touch your hand to mine as a sigh
Reach for a torn to your side
Grab the flesh as the blood flows blind
Killing you without a cause
My pleasure will be without a lose
With words that are spoken softly
A hand towards your throat openly
Veins of blood overflow
Your face hitting the light will glow
Words of sorrow will be there
When I stand over your body here
Time passes if we want it to or not
Even if that time will face in thought
Stars that glaze with the moon
Just that the flowers will never bloom
Images engage though out time
Without words wanting, waiting to bind
A lovers kiss overlaps in your arms
Fingers that tough tenderness sighs

Re: Poems of Happy, Love, Sorrow, Pain, and Death
Hold Tight, Don't Look Back
By David Barnum
Your time will come once the pain that develops over your head
The button to press as your lifeless body is left to be dead
Breathless wishpers as you touch a hand towards your cold lips
Walk the lines that withdraw your sorrows without looking at hips
Underneath the few steps you step on is outside the door to the raindrops
Open a thought as your heart is taken from a second look at the slips
Put your words into a song as you sing your sweet melody of a poor mans stories
Stop playing around with someone else's soul as I do with people as toys
Quite your bittering gives way to the blood that flows from your tongue
Laugh at best untill you walk westwards without woundering of a song
You better hold on tight to my hand as we walk the fine line at our feet
Don't look back at the things that are about to eat their way in the heat
Pull the threads of your life that causes so many to die under the weight
Often without thinking your best gives way to the most pain you want
Quick glances to your side will best tell the story
When you walk in the dark you will never see the glory
Hold your hands out for someone to grab
Forever in the grace of your father's tug
Justice will never forsaken your faith as you walk that line once again
Just remember that you will die and be at peace with your soul in his hands

Dreaming Dreams
By David Barnum
A demons cry towards the sky
Wakes the devil on a dime
Breath of flames
Bodies die
Bones twisted and burned
Ashes to the sky
As a Clock ticks by
One
Your death
Two
Pieces of your heart and soul
Three
Figures will wilt
Four
Mixed in an oven of pain
Five
Addure your forgiveness to pleasure
Six
As the flames consume
Seven
Unforgiven is not an action
Eight
Your blood will be washed over with a stone
Nine
A soul will drop
Ten
Without reaching up to the stars
Eleven
The light will go out
Twelve
Your time is here to die

Re: Poems of Happy, Love, Sorrow, Pain, and Death
Here is to Grandpa Jim. A tribute to your life and those that love you. Chris, I know it will be hard to write something about Jim, but give it time. I'm still not done with this one, but I'll finish it soon. I'll always miss those that we love, honor, and cherish.
Losing You Forever
By David Barnum
I lost you to the night
I lost you to the fight
Your last breath was too hard on me
Everyone cried as your stopped to be
We were going to come to you
Even if we knew what the end knew
I will miss you with my heart
Without your strong words with thought
I listened to your stories when you were younger
Blazing through the mountains when you were older
The horse you took to lakes to fish and get away
With your cheap liquor in your hands when the clouds went to gray
You cared for your loved ones so much
Even when they were short on money and in a crunch
You gave words that told a story
That night on Lake Lebarge, I cremated Sam McGee
You always remember poems
Every lesson had its roses
But you were there for anyone that needed a hand
Breaking your back to give loved ones a bed
When we went camping for rocks by a river
I thought we could go anywhere for rocks even by that river
But these rocks were better to look for
When I just walked a few feet to find what we were there for
Showing my dad that rock
He looked at grandpa and told me to go back to the truck
The petrified wood had reds, blues, pinks, and other colors
My grandpa was there when we looked for more rocks
Always bringing the beer and the guns to shoot at cans
We always had steaks and grandpa left his on the fire for seconds
His stories about his travels through the mountains
When he had the weekends off to travel to the fountains
Folding my hands as we sit on his lap
Going over the wars and problems between our gap
His mind was so strong and did things his own way
Even when things got harder for him to stay
Never forsaken to leave a task not done
Grandpa was the only one to finish it and get it done
His heart was pure to his family and friends
Facing through problems under twists and bends
As we grew older, we were happy to go see him
Once we were teens, we wanting to be like him
When we got to adults, we worried about him
But before we could say something, we wasn’t able to ask him
His death will be hard to forget when we cremated his body
A path to that same mountain he loved so much openly
Taking a hike in Wyoming to see Florence Lake
To see the crash of Bomber Mountain for his sake
As we got closer to the top
We could see the lake at the bottom
The hike was to honor his life, his love, and his all
With our arms held together, we looked out far
Passing the bottle of Thunderbird
Drinking it and a word
Giving the rest on his ashes
We left, saying our goodbyes
To come back once again
With Thunderbird in our hand
Forever you will be in our hearts and minds
Touching our hearts from the skies

Come to it all, will never end

You will never know what my pain is untill its too late. Never for my heart to fall in pieces as with the blood that drips.

Re: Poems of Happy, Love, Sorrow, Pain, and Death
A Name in Love
By David Barnum
Caressing her soft lips with my own
Reaching through memories unknown
Her lips wet against mine as we look at each other
Tasted like strawberries on warm sunsets together
Her soft hair running like thin threads of silk
Holding her hands with the fine wine on a tilt
A quiet voice singing a sweet song in my ear
Taking a cloth to wipe away a tear
Hearing your voice over a whisper
Every moment locked away in a year
I had someone translate this poem in Danish:
A Name in Love
By David Barnum
Kærtegner hendes bløde læber med mine egne
Rækker gennem minder ukendte
Hendes læber våde mod mine vi ser hinanden
Smagte som jordbær på varme solnedgange vi delte
Hendes bløde hår løber som tynde tråde af silke
Føre mine hænder over din krop bøjer dig
En lav stemme synger en sød sang i mit øre
Tager et stykke tøj til at tørre en tåre væk
Høre din stemme over en hvisken
Alle stunder spærret væk i et år
If you don't speak it, go back to the english version.

Re: Poems of Happy, Love, Sorrow, Pain, and Death
You Want To Die So Young, Just Don't Do It Without Pitty Or Despaire
By David Barnum
Gasp!
A breath excapes as blood overflows the mouth
The heart beat speeds up in fear
Gasping for a breath
Only getting blood dripping down
Eyes full of tears
The knife deep in your body
Digging into your fleash
Blood flowing out of the deep cut
Drips onto the floor
Covering the carpet with red splashes
Yet still standing there as the liquid dyes your clothes
Throwing up more blood as the pain increases
Tossing your head back as more blood comes out
With the last breaths of your life
Are slipping away as the few seconds pass
As your knees hit the floor with blood
Your head jerks down as your eyes close
But as your body is in the blood, you are dead

Re: Poems of Happy, Love, Sorrow, Pain, and Death
Death Without Questions or Answers That Don't Matter At All
By David Barnum
I will always reach into my heart for sorrow and loss
Breaking through the gasps of guilt and horror beyond any believe
I need the warmth to boil my blood that flows inside my body
Yet that will cause me to curse your name over and over
In the darkness, I will come at you without a word or just plain silence
Who will stop my desires to kill you without mercy?
Why would they ever stop my actions on this fragile world we live in?
I just wish to be left alone to dwell in the memories I will have of you
If I am able to get over the sorrow of the tears I feel for you
Even if that is to cut your head off and serve it with wine
I will never dip into madness, but stop me if I do
I will not feel anything beyond pain and pleasure anymore
I will not let you come close to me even if it is to help me
Will you try to get me help for what I have became?
Would you ever try to forget my pain and leave me alone?
Don't love me for what I have done to so many
I will only live in my slumber and all alone forever
By David Barnum

Lilies For The Heart
By David Barnum
I'll wait for you to come to me
Even if that will take time to be
Ever locked in your gaze with love
I'll fly to you just like a dove
Flying to new heights with you
Seeing the moon shine on you
Breath into the bitterness cold
Await for me to take you in a hold
Frozen interlocked with your memories
Beneath our feet we will see the lilies
Fireflies In A Night Sky
By David Barnum
Dancing without understanding why the fire burns
Gathering your thoughts and feelings for the real turns
Blowing out the candle in the night sky
The fireflies that circle the children that play
With your thoughts so openly to the soft music's sound
The beat that breaks without a note that hits the ground
Gather you hand to the fireflies that buzz over your head
Landing on the soft ground that squishes beneath the sand
Open your hands to their soft light
Walking around with your arms to the right
Awaken with the shining of the moon's sight
They fly around your face without fright
As the fireflies dance in the moonlight
You feel the warmth of the car's headlight
Going back home with your family late at night
Holding your memories till the next flight

Gather Nothing, Be Nothing
By David Barnum
Thoughts written down without understanding
Driven towards sorrows after doing
Hands being caring while holding back
Misunderstanding mostly every fact
Releasing memories coming into binds
Body movements overrated twisted minds
Breathless shadows moving towards light
Icy deaths asking questions, mindless sight
Visions taking dreams without distance
Understanding feelings towards heartbreak
Words misgiving intertwined mistake
Body movements bringing headache
