Yeah, at first I only read webcomics, like this one . I was too frugal to want to buy anything. Then my brother went on this crazy spree where he started buying a bunch of batman comic books. So when he was done with them I'd read them. He's got a few more like Green Lantern and Deadpool but I haven't gotten to them yet.
My dad loves comic books... he doesn't read them as much as he used to like 4 years ago, but he still gets them... I think there's only like 1 or 2 he reads regularly now, and even then, only semi-regularly nowadays. I used to read a lot of them. I also read a lot of the originals... Iron Man was always my favourite. And, as a result, always loved reading The Avengers as well. I'm such a Marvel kid.
May the Triforce be with you.

My dad was a big Superman fan as a kid and he got my brother and I some of the old Superman comic a while back. I've also watched most of the various Superman TV shows (though some only partway through). Like I said, if they had a nice cheap collection of a ton of the comics for Superman, Batman, Spiderman, or a few others I'd be interested in giving it a try.
I'm finally back to reading some old Batman comics my dad gave me. They're quite amazing, I must say.

This wasn't too long ago, so I don't think it counts as useless thread revival.
How would you define cheap, Josiah? Because trades are basically that. Alternatively, you could just buy trades of story arcs you like or that are among the best (like Superman Red Son or Spiderman....um....there haven't actually been any good Spiderman arcs for a while).

I'm now into Dr. Strange comics and I went through my dad's stash and found one. It's awesome, I gotta say, and he's now one of my favorite Marvel heroes.

you should see the issue where he goes against Doctor Doom.
plus, Green Goblin, any issue with him in it, is considered as great.
