Hi! Minum created ROM (just the most basic guys in a monster training game concept and the names of the three god monsters) then lost interest and disapeared for a week or two. It nearly died but Shauni started the whole plot going. Jeff (aka Ibun) soon joined in with that. He and Shauni did most of the main ROM 1 plot. I did most of ROM 2 (though Jeff contributed a decent amount too). ROM 3 was my idea though Jeff, Shauni, and Pokchu added a lot to it. The main plot of ROM 4 is mostly me, Shauni, and Simeon. And everyone has added twists and sub-quests and stuff to all of them.
Anyway, when minum returned, he was too lazy to read all the posts we'd made in his absence so he dropped out. He rejoined towards the very end of ROM 1 but didn't post much and then dropped out again shortly into ROM 2 (after some truely horrible RPing). He returned in ROM 3 but only made about one post before leaving again. After that he started ranting about how we'd stolen his RP and all ROM was his idea, blah, blah, blah. He even started his own version of ROM on another forums which (ironically enough) ripped off a good chunk of stuff from ROM 2 which he hadn't had any part in creating. He was eventually banned for a combination of whining, spamming, and his behavior during an incident with another pokémon comic (which we won't get into here).
Pokchu was a decent forum member for a while... He wanted to join ROM but instead of asking he just jumped right in at the end of ROM 2 with a ridiculous post. We weren't happy and deleted it but said he was welcome to join during ROM 3. He did and decided he wanted to play a bad guy. His character was the main villian for the first 2/3s of ROM 3. Problem was, he had a serious tendency to god-mod, didn't seem to realize that, as a bad guy, he'd have to eventually lose, and threw huge fits when any of the rest of us contradicted his god-modding or his plan on how the story should go. He eventually left ROM and the forums halfway through ROM 3.

Minum started the base idea of ROM, than Shauni bammed it up a knotch and made it waaaaay better.

All I can really take credit for is ROM the comic, and none of golden_suns ideas or characters are in that comic at all. I respected him enough to not use his ideas when he thought we had hijacked his project. But I digress, Josiah and everyone else are right, the original idea may have been his, but without great input from everyone else, the RP would have died, and there would have never been ROM the comic. Also, in my very first news post, I gave him credit for his part in its creation.

The topic was originally started by one of my buddies on the forum that we like to call Felix (this was golden_suns character in the RP), and follows the misadventures of 5 gamers after getting sucked into a computer game.

Also, as I’ve always stated, ROM the comic is BASED on the RP. It has its own plot, characters and eventual conclusion that have nothing to do with the RP, say for the main characters, name locations and its name. Think of it as an alternative time line.

If Golden_sun is lurking out there, i'm sorry if you feel we stole the project, but you left it to rot,

For instance, there be no Kevin in the original ROM. Also he's kinda a cameo...except one that run for like 200 pages >_>

He's actualy a character now, at least until his last few parts in the plot are done

Going of what Shauni said, at this point in time there really aren't a whole lot of similarities between the ROM RP and the ROM comic. Some of the characters are more or less the same and it takes place in Orca where you battle with monsters in cards and the main bad guy in Moen, but that about it. Just to give some examples...
In the RP:
1. There's no Petra, no perverted little blue guys, and no Kevin, among others.
2. There isn't and never was any priestess Shauni, ditto with her traveling group.
3. Moen was never a good guy and just wants to take over the world. He has no connection with Shauni.
4. Opal didn't show up until ROM 2, Neo till ROM 3, and Simeon till ROM 4.
5. The seven sins aren't working for Moen and didn't show up until ROM 4. They were created for the comic but, when we were dicussing who the bad guys should be in ROM 4, we decided to use them at Shauni's suggestion. Also, they have much less backstory to them.

That's not all the differences but it should give you some idea.

i tried to make it my own project without using to many peoples ideas because I didn't feel free to expand them, that is why there are so many differences, its so I didnt get writers block by using other peoples ideas, also, at the time, the ROM RP hadn't finished (it still hasn't) and a lot of storys were left unfinished, also charcters that no longer seemed to have a purpose as playes had dropped out. i'm trying to keep the orginal gamers and there story lines as close as to the orginal however, but there many be differences as there are characters in the comic that were not in the RP.
