New Dawn

Nikka nodded quickly, and wedged under his arm, From there, she stood up, supporting most of his weight.
"I'll just let him rest here.. His room is on the complete other side of the mansion, I think..." she thought quickly, moving towards the bed. Nikka helped him onto the bed and sat in the chair he'd left.
"Can I get you anything..?" she asked, watching him closely.

Alex moved his head towards hers. "Yes, paper and a pen. Write everything you hear from my lips as I sleep. I forget some, and want to understand why.

He closed his eyes and started to sleep.

Nikka nodded slightly, and stood. With a few long strides, she reached a dresser on the other side of the room. She opened the second drawer, and took out a small journal, and a pen.
Quickly as she could, Nikka flipped to the back of the small book. With that, she returned to her chair, and waited for him to begin speaking.

Alex was in deep sleep for 20 minutes still he said the first words of a long story.

"Life was sweet, bitter, but the words were touching me like ice. My parents told me of the death of Katie, my sister. Died from a car crash and the last words from her: "Please be strong and never give up. If need be, do it by yourself."

The words were very pale to me at the time, but my parents wrote it for me. That is what I put down on my notebook by the nightstand. The death of my sister was hard on me. Even at 14, I missed her so much. Katie was full of life, and wanted to have fun. Like a flower that wants to bloom all night. Yet by that time, I was so in grief that I didn't care what became of me. Even getting bitten by a vampire didn't move my emotions.

After becoming one, I started to drink. No one found the bottles under my bed, and I still have 50 there here at the castle. I smoked some too, untill I feel in love. Yet I had to tell her in the end, that I couldn't love, nor hate, so I had to let her go. There was someone else I started to like then love.

Nikka. Strong, hope and wanting to understand the world around her. I feel at peace looking into her eyes, and I tried to smile, but then I turn around and walk the other way. Yet she is also like my sister. Wants to have fun, to be alone and feel at peace. Taking long walks through the trees in the forest. Caring for just herself for that time, and the world as it clicks away.

How I missed those times. Yet things do change don't they..."

Nikka wrote down his words obediantly, until he said her name. She froze slightly at that point, and glanced up.
"D-did he just...?" she thought, shocked to some extent.
She blinked, and snapped into reality, feverantly writing down what she had missed.
Nikka held the book, and looked over what she had written.

And I got everything from them. I took all the things that were to be kept and sold the rest. My whole life has been a struggle to have happiness and one person to have that with. No, just these last 4 years has been trying to find a place to call home, to love someone, and to be cared for. I try so hard to help others that it causes me to push them further away from me. I don't want that."

In Alex's mind, he been sleeping only minutes, but in all 23 hours passed and the pain was leaving. His leg started to twitch and moved from side to side in the bed.

Nikka's eyes fluttered open, and she took a quick look around the room. Alex seemed to be waking up, and she drowsily rubbed her eyes. She sat up quickly, and picked the journal up from the floor.
"Good morning.." she whispered quietly, flipping to the back pages. Nikka read what he had said once more, and then set the book on his lap, attempting not to disturb him, even if he was almost awake.

Alex looked at her after she read what was written. Then knew he shouldn't have said all that. But what was said had to be told.

"Hmm, yep. Think I should have told or said too much? Just didn't think somethings were to be told, yet the side effect was just what I told you earlier."

He looked around the room, then back at her. Then he noticed he was on her bed, and didn't know how he got here.

"Anything happen?"

Nikka shook her head.
"Not really. I fell asleep after you were done, so I wouldn't know.." she said simply.
"Did he mean what he said..?" she thought, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.

Folding his hands, he saw her eyes. Alex knew that things needed to be told again.

"Read my notebook. It has everything in there that will tell the truth too, if you still don't believe me. It starts on page 50. Each page is numbered." He said as he tossed it to her.

Nikka blinked, and opened the notebook. She flipped through it until she found the page he told her to find. From there, she began to read.

"Her eyes with wonder, a softness on its own..." He felt the emotion to just start her off on the page.

Nikka glanced up, fighting tears.
She laughed softly, wiping a hand across her face to get rid of the tears. But she didn't know how to react.
"Thank you.." she said quietly, smiling at him.

Alex removed the covers and the wound was gone. The pain was gone too, and he was happy about that.

"Its from my heart. In that is every secret I've had, dreams, poems, writings and my love for things I care for. Its the only thing I have that I keep with me all the time."

Nikka shut the book softly, and handed it back to him.
She glanced at his leg, and sighed in relief. It had healed nicely.
"Do you need anything?" she asked, tilting her head to one side.
