Kiku had been able to completely heal only two of her companions with her shikai (Uh...pretend it was Kusa--since he could barely move--and Bael--who she sorta feels obliged to) before Bael moved them all and collapsed. Shortly before that, all the Hollows had been defeated and she could no longer transfer injuries to anything. Sighing, she returned her staff to its dagger form and stuck it back into her sheath again. Then she looked down at Bael.

"He'll have to rest even longer now," she said sadly. "I can only heal physical injuries. I haven't learned how to replenish reiatsu or cure exhaustion. If I knew at least the former, I'd be a seated officer..." She looked a little ashamed of herself. "It's about time I finished healing the rest of you," she added. "Do you mind if I...?" She spent the next several minutes sealing the remaining injuries on Rune, Kusa, Yuki, Rai, and Bael, along with any new ones they might have gotten. She also put a small pouch of fragrant herbs next to Bael's head, hoping to at least help him rest better.

"Hopefully, he'll at least regain consciousness before the next Hollow appears," she fretted. "The rest of you shouldn't exert yourselves for at least another half hour so that you can recover from fatigue. Kusa-fukutaichou and Quincy-san, you need to rest a little longer because..." She turned rather pink in the face, and her voice got a bit quieter, though she seemed unaware of the change. "...Kusa-fukutaichou hasn't quite recovered from all the blood he lost, and Quincy-san has depleted his reiatsu..."

Bael had managed to carry all the injured close enough to an abandoned building for Kiku and the other not so injured to drag everyone in there to safety.

Yuki had recovered pretty fast and was now at least able to stand and walk around. She walked over to Rai and just sat there staring at him.

"What do you want?" said Rai coldly

Yuki just kept staring at him, and said nothing.

"Can you, you know, go somewhere else and stop looking at me like that?"

Yuki leaned forward and... *SLAP*

Rai was slapped on the right cheek of his face "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT FOR!?!?!"

"Hey! Your the one that almost killed us all." She said, standing up and jumping out of Rai's range.

"I'll kill you, little brat" He said, forming the bow in his hand

"Kiku-san said you can't do stuff like that... remember?" she said smiling

"Stuff her! I don't care what any of you Shinigami say!! You ain't the boss of me!" Rai said childishly.

"Hmph! I don't like you anymore! Meanie!" she said poking her tongue out at Rai.

Kusa sat down on the ground and leaned back against the trunk of a tree, resting in the shade it offered. "Yuki-chan... Come away from him. He needs to be left alone for the time being...", he called to her.

"Okie Kusa-chan!" she said, leaving Rai and running towards her vice-captain "What are we gunna do now?"

"You heard Miss Kiku, Yuki-chan. She said that we should all just sit and rest for a little while longer. Would you mind keeping me company, little one?", Kusa asked, gently patting Yuki on her head.

"No, I don't mind." she said, taking a seat next to Kusa "Can you show me your Bankai Kusa-chan?"

(Keep in mind, Yuki thinks that all seated officers have a bankai >.<... she's not stupid... just misinformed... but, make what ever you want of it)

A little tired of the Quincy's frequent complaints, Kiku walked to stand right next to him. "Quincy-san," she began politely, "If you don't find our company likable, you may leave. No one's asking you to stay, and you don't have to linger here just to recover reiatsu. You should be fine on your own; from what I've seen of you, you're a capable fighter." Looking a little frightened he might lose his temper again, she scurried away under the pretense of checking on Bael.

"It's not YOUR company, it's that little brat!!" Rai said, pointing at Yuki "She slapped me in he face! What did I do to her?" Rai, just folded his arms... then realised that Kiku went away, "fine, don't liste to me" he said, sighing.

Rath went over and kicked the Quincy. It wasnt hard, nor did it hurt, but it most likely got his attention. "You about got us killed! She had the right to slap you! You nearly killed Onii-chan!" He said, pouting, and walking away, hugging his brother.

Bael remained unconcsious (Woo mispelling)

"Fine fine. Everyone just gang up on me!" he shouted, standing up "You know what? Maybe your kind deserves to die, after all, you killed my kind!" he continued coldly.
After his small speech, Rai stood up and began walking out of the building "And one more thing. If I ever see you guys again, just leave me alone, I don't want nothing to do with you." After this, Rai left and began to walk home.

Rai got home, to an empty house as usual. Ate dinner, went to sleep. As he slept he let his thoughts wonder "Well, at least I don't have to worry about those shinigami anymore. They'll probably be back at soul society by tomorrow. and besides, I got school tomorrow, better get to sleep.

===meanwhile===

"PLEEEEAAASSSEE Kusa-chan!!" Yuki pleaded "I wanna see your Bankai."

"But Yuki-chan, I don't have a Bankai!' replied Kusa

"Yeah you do, all seated officers do!!"

"Uh, Yuki..."

===one long explaination later===

"Oh! I get it now!" said Yuki "You have to be captain to have Bankai."

"No, to be a captain, you need to be able to use Bankai"

"But..."

===one short moment of misunderstanding later===

"Oh! Now I get it!!" said Yuki "Does that mean I can have Bankai too?"

"Yeah I guess..."

"YIPPEE!!!" Yuki said, jumping up and down.

===after calming down===

Yuki kneeled beside Bael "Get better soon Bae-chan" Yuki said quietly. After this, she went to sleep.

Rune held his younger brother, petting his hair softly. "Shh, it's all right... I'll be fine. Miss Kiku took good care of me. Besides, you must learn forgiveness, all right, Rath?", he said, smiling down at his twin.

Kusa smiled as Yuki fell asleep beside the still unconscious Bael. He decided that he had spent enough time resting and allowing himself to recover. After standing up, he placed his Zanpakuto into the sheath across his back. "I hope they don't sleep too long... We have to return to the Soul Society soon.", he smiled, then turn to look at Kiku. "Miss Kiku, thank you for taking such good care of my squad members. You've done a pretty good job."

Kiku turned red in the face again and dipped into a bow, murmuring, "It was no problem." She glanced after Rai as he left, looking a little guilty. Perhaps she shouldn't have said what she did...he was a Quincy, after all. She couldn't blame him for hating their company, not after what happened all those years ago. Kiku straightened from her bow and found a seat roughly equidistant from all the other Shinigami. She pulled her sheathed zanpakutou out of her sash and twirled it between her fingers, watching the tsuba as it went around in circles.

Daryl stepped through his front door, still wondering about the day's events. "I'm home!"

Daryl's father poked his head around the corner. "Hey, Dar- ...Oh my God, what happened to your backpack?!?"
"Huh?" Daryl turned his head to look at his backpack, which had been shredded by Rai's light beams. "Oh... If I told you, you wouldn't believe me."
"Whatever, but you're paying for a new one." Daryl's father sighed and turned back around the corner.

Later, Daryl lay on his bed, reminiscing. "What am I doing?" he sighed and turned over, falling off his bed in the process. "Ow..."

((Let's just say that the next post takes place next morning, unless anyone else wants to do anything.)))

====Next Morning====

Rai just lie there on his bed staring at the ceiling "Well, guess I got to go to school then." he said, getting out of bed. He went through his morning routine and left to get to school. When he arrived, he was surprised at what/who he saw. (what or who... whoever's choice.)

====Meanwhile====

"Let's go everyone!" Yuki shouted, having obviously completely recovered from the previous days events. Within the morning she managed to wake just about everyone up with her loud yelling. "Come on Bae-chan!" she yelled at her comrade.

"Let's go home, Rath." Rune patted his younger brother's head softly.

Kusa smiled, happy to see that Yuki was all right and completely back to normal. "All right, all right... We'll be going soon, Yuki-chan.", he called to her.
