Hi! Might not be all that glamorous, Stevenson, but I've heard that Wal-Mart managers make a pretty impressive salary and they usually work their way up into that role from entry level jobs like that. Not sure you want to stick around that long, but you never know.

On my end, I got hired to write a second novelette tie-in for that SOE game I can't talk about yet. So that must mean they're pretty happy with the first one, plus, I'm getting paid around 166% of what I did last time, which is pretty awesome. That aside, I'm enjoying being back home in CO and stressing out a bit over planning the rest of my summer. Pros, cons, what I should focus my time on, etc.

Aloha! I'd just like to say that since I came back, it's been really great poking around these boards again, haha. I do hope it gets more active over the summer, though.
Stevenson's Vocabulary Word of the Week:

Foment: (verb) To excite or arouse, i.e. 2014's Week of Randomness hopes to foment some activity on the forums.

Stevenson's Latin Phrase of the Week:

Brutum Fulmen: (senseless thunderbolt) This phrase, coined by Pliny the elder, is used to refer to an empty threat.

Hi! I hope things get more active too. I think just about everyone should be out of school by now.

Moi,

Not everyone, Josiah. I still have a month or so of school left, though, to be fair, half of that is just finals. Even so, I still have a bit to go.

Yeah, school stuff has been keeping me occupied for a while. Still, the school year seems to be ending quite quickly. The last month or so almost seems to be a blur. Kind of strange since the beginning of the year seemed to just drag on.

Anyway, got to get back to reviewing and trying not to freak out over my upcoming finals.

Stay radical people! Peace off!

Hi! After some time spent debating various summer plans, and way too long looking up airfares, it looks like I'll be going to Japan for part of the summer! I'll be flying out on June 9 and returning on July 15. At this point though, my plans for while I'm there are very much up in the air. I have some ideas, but nothing definite yet. Haven't even booked any hotels. Originally my dad had been thinking of coming along and we'd do some of that trip we'd planned but canceled after the big earthquake a couple years back. Unfortunately though, he's decided it's best not to go on any long trips (especially out of the country), until he's sure he's totally recovered from the health issues he had earlier in the year. We may try again next year, if we both have the time. This summer though, I'm on my own. Though you guys are welcome to come and visit. :-P I could give you a pretty awesome tour.

Hey.

Working all summer :-( I'd love to go see Japan some time though....

But I am not working for this week of summer, so that's a yay!

Also, I'm famous now. And I will be famous again next week! Cornell lax is in the NCAA semifinals! WHOO! More traveling with band people is always a win.

Uhmmm so not much is going on in my life. Moved into my room for next year in Haus. Living with my fellow trumpet players. Just kinda chillin here for a week so I can go to the Duke v. Cornell lax game this Saturday. Then I start work next week (boo) and work for the rest of the summer (boo).

Back to playing League with my days!

'Lo, peeps. While my current hunt for a summer job is ongoing, I decided to start doing Let's Plays on my YouTube channel under the moniker "FanglyFish". My first video is up, with semi-crappy quality of me trying and failing to play World of Tanks.

Apart from that, not much else has been happening. I've dropped off resumes at like 30 different places and I have yet to get a response. Just need to be patient and persistent, I guess.

Hi! Good luck, Doodle. The job market kinda sucks right now, but hopefully you'll find something.

Two months ago, for the first time, I cut my wrist...

not deliberately, of course. I have a spice bush in my garden, and there were a bunch of dead leaves cluttered around the base, so I was picking them out. Well, one of the stubby branches of that spice bush got me, just a liiiittle bit, a tiny tiny little scratch, and... it won't go away! It's not like I've been picking at it, it's just... still there... now everyone's gonna think I'm an emo kid.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Hi! I got cut by a cheap plastic wristband once (the local pool gave them to you if you paid for unlimited rides on the water slide) and it left a scar for months.

So, I suppose it's time for an update on my summer plans. Next week, my parents are going to a conference in LA (my dad is gonna be speaking there). I'm going along, since I'm going to be flying from LA to Japan. We're going to be driving all the way, but that's nota big deal since I'm used to long car trips and I've got my 3DS, Vita, and all that. Even better, we're spending the night in Vegas and I convinced my parents to go to a Cirque du Soliel show! I'll have a couple days pretty much on my own in LA, since I'm not going to the conference, but I haven't decided if I'm going to try and go somewhere or just hang out and get a bunch of work done. Probably depends how easy it is to get around from wherever the hotel is. Then, it's off to Japan! I'm keeping my plans for that trip pretty loose. I got an apartment for the entire time in downtown Tokyo, but I'll be doing some overnight trips here and there and potentially a longer one (maybe a week or so) in a different part of the country. And, of course, I've got a huge list of potential day trips planned. Since I won't have a job to worry about though, I can just pick and choose between them on the fly based on my mood, the weather, etc.

Speaking of which, if anyone wants me to pick something up for them in Japan, I'd be happy to keep an eye out. You'll just need to pay me actual cost plus postage. PM me if you're interested.

Moi,

Ay, guys. S'up?...Yeah, I've been away for a while, huh? Well, that's what happens when finals are coming up.

So, in my Communication Systems class, I'm working on my final term project. We have to create a little website and video that teaches something to the public. I decided to go with teaching people how to draw a person. To be honest, it's a bit more work then I expected it would be. It not the drawing part or having to operate a video camera and film myself drawing stuff, but actually describing how I draw things. It's kind of difficult...like describing a piece of abstract art to somebody that can't see it.
The website itself...well, it's not that bad, considering somebody that has little to no knowledge of website design created it. I may or may not link it in my art thread or something when I'm done with it. Depends on how I think it turned out...and whether or not I can stand the sound of my own voice in the video itself.

Also, in chem. tomorrow, I'll be doing some tie-dying. The chem. teachers got shirts for any kid that wanted to tie-dye one (and, honestly, who doesn't like to tie-dye?) and I'll be bringing in my own plain white bandanna to give it a bit of color. Should be fun.

And I've recently been watching a whole bunch of old Mystery Science Theater 3000 videos. They give me something interesting to listen to while I work on stuff like binomial expansion problems...one of the most useless units teachers must teach in math class, ever. Seriously, unless you really want to become a mathematician or math teacher, it has basically no real world applications. I think the school just adds it to the curriculum to keep students busy during the last week of school.

So...time to work on homework. I might disappear again over the next week or so. Depends on how much stuff I have to work on.

Stay radical people! Peace off!

For once in my life I'm good LOL. I was after Okami on PS3 while I was there, but I didn't see it for less than 3000 yen, which is more than its worth. If you see it as 2000 yen or less I'd be interested as long as the postage wasn't to expensive. Even second hand is okay.

Speaking of games, I finally got Ni No Kuni for DS with the magic book while I was over there, for less that 2000 yen, thats like £13. it was £40 to import it on Amazon.

Hi! You may just want to get the downloadable version of Okami HD, Shauni. That's what I did. Yeah, it's a download, but it'll be in English that way and, from what I've heard, the disc version just installs everything to your hard drive anyway. Speaking of shopping in Japan though, I really should throw together a quick list of the things I want to get for myself, to make sure I don't forget about any of them...

Hey.

So I've been working 9-5 at an engineering firm WHAT A REAL JOB MADNESS

Today we're going out to look at keyboards since I want one for my room next year since I'll no longer be living in a dorm that has a piano in the basement SADFACE. But yeah. It's remarkably easy to go back to being home after months of being away. And within a day I was reminded why most people add the prefix bland- to my town... but I'm seeing friends, so that's good! Also playing League. Lots of League.

OH and I ran into one of my friends (well, not quite a friend, but more than an acquaintance, I'd say) and she's a boy now. Huh. Can't say I ever saw that one coming, considering she was fairly feminine. Marissa -> Mason. Also my friend that was a lesbian is now bi and they're dating.

Weird.
