Greetings All ^_^

When I was younger everyone used to think I was at least 5 years older, from what I understand it was a mixture of appearance and I was alot more mature. Now day people normally mix it up, they generally guess within 3 year above and below my age. . . not entirly sure what to make of that. . . I'm about 5"6' though acording to my licence. And well, I'm heavier then I'd like to be, I have a gut. Working on getting rid of it though.

And I'm still waiting for someone to do the Lion King Musical again. Last time I was living in a conpletely different city and couldn't go see it.

Hey, Faust! I would've bothered you to come visit too, but I didn't have any reliable way to get a hold of you. Except for Mandi. My brilliant plan worked out splendidly!

It has been in London for a long time, and has only started touring recently. Same goes for Wicked, which I saw at the West End in London and can't praise it enough. Wicked starts touring in September. I might go and watch it if I can get tickets.

Aloha! Maybe I should bug Poik to come back. I have his phone number even.

I must confess to never having had anything to do with the Wicked property. I haven't read the books, seen the play, or even listened to the music. Is it really that good? Maybe I'll check it out.

Hey.

Hi Mandi! Sorry to hear about the depression... I wish my depression would make me lose weight but noooo, my diet isn't affected at all.

Errrrr that's a dumb thing to complain about and I'm gonna stop right there.

I, too, am Vitamin D deficient. It's a pretty common problem. I just take my tablets and everything is peachy! Also, your age gap is about the same as mine was with my ex (actually a little bit smaller), except with me being the younger one. When we were together, it was easily to totally forget about that gap, but it ended up being a good portion of what ended our relationship when it came down to it. She even told me when she broke up with me that things would have been different were she a year younger and not so looking at her future and graduation.

Errr, enough of that, though. 's good to see you around, Mandi. And a year with a rough start only means it just gets better from here.

As for tan girls vs. pale girls... I mean, that's never really been a factor in my head, to be quite honest. Either way works. Super creepy tan is no good, though.

AND Wicked is an absolutely fantastic musical.

Josiah wrote:Stevenson poses a good question. Do you think there's enough material that you can hit your target page count? Beyond that, it sounds like it could be interesting. But since it's such a specific subject, you may want to do a bit of preliminary research and makes sure you can find enough reference material to work with.
Well, that's the thing. It's more going to be like a conglomerate of papers, i.e. one will be about the construction and maintenance of the road, another will be about literary mentions and facts about the road, or roads in general, and another will be about the material culture found near the road. That one will probably be broken down even further as I subdivide the Cisalpine portion with the Transalpine portion and the Gallic portion. There will be differences on that, trust me. It's like I-95; it might span a great area, but many cultures travel upon it, thus creating variety in the material culture.

Also, getting back on the current topic, no one really made assumptions about my age. Although when I was in middle school, I did used to claim I was a year younger than I really was. it helped that I was so small and my birthday was later than everyone else in my grade.

Having now seen both Wicked and Oz, I can say this much with absolute confidence: Wicked is better than Oz. It makes more sense, ties in better with the original Wizard of Oz book/film, has a better soundtrack (not that Oz's terrible - Danny Elfman and all - but Wicked is a musical), is better written with better characters and it just... it's just better. Oz wasn't bad. As a movie, it was good. As a setup for the Wizard of Oz? It's riddled with plot holes and really doesn't make any sense. Also, all characterization for Oz is lost when you realize that he sends a little girl to go kill the witch for absolutely no reason.

As for Wicked... It is really good. I don't think it's some fantastic masterpiece or the greatest thing to ever happen to Broadway like some people seem to think - because it's more accessible than a lot of super-artsy musicals, it gets some undeserved praise, meanwhile critical reviewers are unnecessarily harsh on it because it sells well to people who aren't otherwise familiar with theatre. It is good though, and I would definitely recommend it. I haven't read the book, although I have looked into what the changes between the book and the musical are, and... well, I think the musical fixed a lot of things, honestly. And since the movie adaptation of the Wizard of Oz was more or less a musical, it only seemed right to go with the musical version of the prequel.

Aloha! I would like to make a public service announcement to the people who use these forums. I know many people don't check out the Game Time section any more because, let's face it, it's a lawless wasteland and it's all a bit silly. But please, hear me out.

The "Hurt or Heal PVF Members Edition" game thread is a game wherein several members of the forum are assigned a number of points, and by adding to one and subtracting from one, you gradually eliminate the "competitors" as it were, until one person has all of the points. The currently ongoing conflict has only Phonox and Siranae remaining, two members who no longer attend to these forums, unfortunately.

The reason I bring this up at all is that the third to last remaining member, Silver, was eliminated on the eighth of Februrary, 2012. This conflict between two members who no longer are here has been going on for over a year.

So, please, everybody on this forum, please go over to that thread and vote down Phonox and up Siranae (because Siranae has more points currently) so we can end this round and start a new one. It's been A YEAR, people.

Thank you for your time.

Or, you know, we can just make a new round. It would probably be more effective too, considering Marley's obscene posting rate.

Josiah: I am requesting permission to delete all of Marley's posts in that topic. Lest counting for you and a new round for us. Everyone wins!

Oh, except Marley anyway.

If you delete all my posts it just looks like Saber posting the same thing over and over again.

Hi! I'll give some thought to that thread and make in a post in there later tonight with my decision.

Nice to see you, Faustgy!

No strong opinion on pale vs. tan skin for girls. They can be pretty either way, so long as it's not taken too far in either direction. That said, I suppose I have some preference for tan since I like girls who are at least a bit athletic.

On weight... At present, my weight is within the recommended range for my height and build, though at the high end of it. Thing is, for the most part my weight just doesn't change no matter what I do. I lost a lot during my first year in college since I had classes over lunch and got in the habit of skipping it, but my dad said I was losing too much and really should eat something. I also lost a good bit both times I was in Japan, though I'm not sure if it was due to the different diet, different portion sizes, all the walking I did, or some combination of those and/or other things. I gained a bit of weight during times like the last couple months of my master's degree, when I was stuck in front of my computer all day every day working on my thesis, and a couple other similar times, but I don't end up in those situations too often. In general though, my weight stays pretty steady. Personally, I wouldn't mind losing a few pounds just because, but my weight just won't change. For the past year and half I've been eating less than I ever did overall. That diet I tried at the start of the year did nothing. All the time I spent in Hawaii last summer (with tons of walking, swimming, and a pretty good diet) didn't even do a thing. Even my dad thinks it's weird. It's annoying, but at least my present weight it ok, if not quite where I'd like it.

Hey.

SO I'm back on campus! Went out last night and... played Magic: The Gathering like a boss. My friend had a box of like 12 decks and the four of us that were playing all just reached in and grabbed a random one and then played it, having no idea what the deck is like. Despite being completely mana screwed in the first game (I had a black/red deck and ALL I WAS DRAWING WAS RED MANA AND I ONLY WAS DRAWING RED/BLACK MONSTERS), I ended up winning in the end by waiting it out and watching everyone hurt each other and kinda ignoring me because I WAS DRAWING NOTHING and then I won by enchanting someone else's creature (lolz) with a card that gave it first strike, but also allowed me to deal 3 damage to target creature or player, so I finished off the 1 health my friend had left.

We then played again and I also won for similar reasons. Except in this game I wasn't mana screwed, but I was drawing ZERO monsters until the very end of the game, when I was able to play a card that prevented all of his creatures from being able to block because they were all green and did the last 7 damage I needed to do... hung in there with 1 health aw yeah.

Now I wanna play more Magic. Great.
May the Triforce be with you.

Hey.

Saber. You didn't believe in the heart of the cards.

So I sleep for...what was that? 15 hours? The last time I do that during KotF.

Josiah, I would seriously appreciate it if you were to read my appeal in the "Hurt/Heal" thread
