Moi,

Sounds like some parts of the Nor'east had a bit of snow. Luckily (or unluckily), my area didn't get any (Unluckily because I like snow). For the past week, it's just been raining. Also, snow or not, it's still pretty cold. *curls up in blanket*

Oh yeah, I, so conveniently, got a bit of a cold a day or two before the Halloween party yesterday. (Just a little party some members of the Anime club went to.) I didn't feel too bad there, so I just tried everything I could to keep from getting anyone else sick. I hope it worked.

As for the party, it wasn't anything spectacular. We talked about...stuff, we made and ate pizzas, we played Apples to Apples, we watched Resident Evil: Degeneration (most of the time, we were commenting and laughing at it more then actually watching it), and an episode of Robin Witch Hunter (and, of course, ate quite a bit of candy). All in all, a nice little get-together. Plus, everyone liked my costume. I might wear it to school on Monday...

In other news: This nose-spray...it's...amazing! I can actually breathe! Ha ha!

Snow as well... but it didn't stick. I guess we were lucky, but... Eh, wanted it. All gone now (good timing too), but still...

Not much else now. Good evening, and good night.

Hey.

SO most of my town doesn't have power, so we had no school today! It also meant that I was harboring refugees for the vast majority of the day! We've still got my cousin and two of my sisters' friends (and my cousin's pet birds), but other than that they've all vacated... we had about 8 kids last night sleep over since they didn't have power, then about six or seven came and went as the day went on. Most of them brought food, which was awesome.

Oh, and I already have no school tomorrow (planned day off (teacher workshop day), although even if it wasn't planned, we would have gotten it off. School still has no power.) so I guess I get to party again! I was supposed to have a 4 hour Fiddler on the Roof (did I mention that's the musical we're doing this fall) rehearsal, but, once again, school has no power, so I get to chillax (and work on college stuff!) all day! Schweet.

Oh, and Halloween was postponed due to massive power outages. It makes me laugh.

I was completely wrong about things settling down at school...

'Ello. I'm amazed by how many people at college still celebrate Halloween, though I personally found it rather weird how there was a guy dressed up as a rabbit in my Computer Science class. There were several people give out free candy, so that was cool, though I decided not to get any.
Mmm... I wish I had something worthwhile to share, but nothing interesting has been going on so far, and I really should get back to work now...

Moi,

Well, I basically slept through this Halloween, but I still think this was a very fun year for Halloween! (That is, I had lots of fun at the Halloween party on Saturday.) My house actually got a few more kids this year, then we have for the last few years. (technically, last year, no kids came to our house. Gosh...so much extra candy...)

So my new iPod nano came today. And, because I give a gender and name to all of my electronics, I decided to name her Lamar! (Named after my last iPod that got lost.)

Ah, but, strangely enough, it's not the fact that Lamar came today that I'm so excited about. It's the fact that I now have the original GhostBusters' theme song on her! Woo!

Anyway. It's late (a '12:34am'** kind of late), I'm tired, so I shall take my leave for now.

**Woo!

Mine's Sr. iPod Esquire. Just puttin' that out there. (Where Sr. is short for senor, and for the life of me I'm too lazy to put a ~ over my n, which is why I shortened it to Sr.)

Again, town has no power... some of my friends have it back (yay!) while others are on their third day of power outages (boo :( ). Oh, and my phone has spontaneously decided it can't hold a charge for more than 6 hours when it used to go 3 days without needing charging. Awesome!

Anywho, day off (again! 4 day weekend of awesome was awesome, especially since seniors don't have to make up snow days :D ). Gonna work on college stuff, then DI, and maybe harboring refugees here and there if the need arises. Ta!

Hi! Good luck with the blizzard, Saber! Same to anyone else who got hit (Silver and Colly?). Hopefully they'll get the power fixed soon.

As previously mentioned, I don't really care about Halloween. I had work yesterday and hung out with some people at the Japanese Club language tables so it most mostly a normal Monday. I logged onto the Guild Wars Halloween event to get this year's special hats and then took part in a special haunted house quest on the Battle Arena (a roleplay forum I'm a member of) but that's about it.

Hey, did you know that the Mario castle and ghost house themes are sufficiently haunting enough to play while serving trick-o'-treaters? I also had Hang Castle and Mystic Mansion from Sonic Heroes on the playlist. Shoulda put Lavender Town on too. We didn't get many takers at our door anyway, so it was a wasted effort to compile the playlist. But it was so worth it.

Heso! Nah, no snow here. A bit of slush, but Sunday was warm and sunny. Well, not like warm, but warm enough that slush would melt away. Halloween proceeded as normal.

And we actually had some trick-or-treaters! Not a whole lot, but some, and that's the first time that's happened to me... ever. Used to live out in the woods you know, not a whole lot neighbors. We didn't know what to expect, so we got these two giant bags of assorted chocolate-type candies... and went through about one of them. So now we have a whole bunch of leftovers, in addition to what we gathered from actually going out trick-or-treating...
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Lol I did something like that last night on Halloween.

I was the one trick-or-treating, and I'm 16... At first I was forced to go with my little brother and his friend, but halfway through I thought "Why not?" Also, fortunately I wasn't affected by the blizzard. Hope everybody who was hit or is having power outages is alright.

On the side note, I'm considering watching One Piece now. I've already watched a share of Naruto, which I found pretty decent, then Bleach, which I got a bit bored with after a few episodes, and One Piece. However, that was the 4Kids dub I watched, which I already know from several fans it sucks. My friend and I wanted to watch one of the big 3 Shonen anime, so we just decided One Piece. As soon as I find the time, I'll probably get to it soon.

Peace out!

Hi! One Piece is definately the best of the three. Though I'll note that the Bleach manga is much better than the anime since the the anime has a lot of "meh" filler episodes. But One Piece starts out fairly cool and just gets better and better the further you get into it. I still actually haven't seen that much of the anime (start of the Grand Line, maybe) due to limited money to spend on DVDs (though I may start watching it on Netflix or Hulu soon) but I love the manga.

At long last, I've got a new programmer for Car Washer! Hopefully it'll finally get finished.

Konbanwa.

I've successfully converted three of my friends into the One Piece fandom over the past year or so, and none of them regret it in any way. All three of them read the manga (because that's faster to burn through than the anime, which has a set length), and they generally agree that it does take a while for One Piece to get off the floor. One of them felt it was rather slow-paced until the fifth story arc (Cocoyashi), when it picked up dramatically. Another was sort of resisting liking One Piece all the way until the seventeenth story arc (Enies), after which she couldn't deny how good it was. A completely different friend has failed to get into One Piece at all, but then again he's really into the huge-droopy-eyed moe moe look, which isn't present in the series. /o/

I don't think I need to mention my own opinion of the series, considering I went out of my way to try converting people into liking it.

Whenever you start watching it, Metal, I hope you like it. ;D Oda has managed to not troll us in the...645 chapters of the manga, which is more than Kubo (471 chapters) or Kishimoto (562) can claim... Still highly indignant that One Piece is ranked 8th on Manga Reader while Naruto is ranked 1st and Bleach 2nd... >:|

What do you mean, Oda's never trolled us?! There were plenty of chapters that left on a cliffhanger. You might notice that most of them would also be accompanied by the "One Piece will be on break next week" message. You'll also notice that the cliffhanger was actually no big deal at all, and he'll resolve it with a joke! High-grade trolling if you ask me... Do you know how long he kept us waiting on Duval? We were tearing our hair out for months trying to figure out what his deal was. And nobody ever guessed. Nobody ever could have guessed. Meanwhile Oda was sitting at home... doing this.

Anyways, it might be eighth on Manga Reader, but I want you to take a look at these sales figures.

Oricon Manga sales from November 22, 2010 to May 22, 2011.

Top-Selling Manga by Series

1 One Piece -- Eiichiro Oda -- 23,366,030 -- Shueisha
2 Gantz -- Hiroya Oku -- 3,110,842 -- Shueisha
3 Naruto -- Masashi Kishimoto -- 3,035,593 -- Shueisha
4 Shingeki no Kyojin -- Hajime Isayama -- 2,613,851-- Kodansha
5 Fairy Tail Hiro Mashima -- 2,501,768 -- Kodansha
6 Bakuman. Story: Tsugumi Ohba / Art: Takeshi Obata -- 2,471,448 -- Shueisha
7 Kimi ni Todoke -- Karuho Shiina -- 2,421,162 -- Shueisha
8 Gintama -- Hideaki Sorachi -- 2,332,550 -- Shueisha
9 Bleach Tite Kubo -- 1,980,234 -- Shueisha
10 Toriko -- Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro -- 1,836,000 -- Shueisha

You might notice that One Piece sold more than seven times what Naruto sold. You might also notice that you can add together the numbers for every other manga on this list and it still won't reach One Piece's sales. But mostly, you might notice that this is the manga sales over a six month period, and One Piece sold 23 million copies. In six months. Yeah...

Anyways, I shouldn't even need to say anything. Just... read One Piece. Or watch it, the anime's fine, but it does take a lot longer to get through because fillers. Now I don't think One Piece fillers are all that bad, certainly not painful to watch like those Naruto fillers, but if you want to get caught up it'll take a lot longer that way.

Hi! I made it to Tampa ok and had fun at Legoland (pictures coming either Monday or Wednesday, depending on how late I get home on Sunday). Tonight was a religious conference, which continues through Sunday morning. I'm skipping Sunday though to go to Orlando's Japan festival. As for the conference... It's more about meeting people than anything else so whether or not it turns out to be worth my time kinda depends on who I meet.

To move back to the current topic... When I first started using My Anime List, I rated One Piece as an 8 (out of 10). I upped it to a 9 sometime during the Alabasta arc (which is something like the 10th or 11th story arc), which tied it with Naruto (which I liked better during the early arcs). And finally I upped it to a 10 during Enies Lobby after a certain scene involving a flag (everyone who is past that part should know what I mean). The thing about One Piece is that it's a true adventure series. There is fighting, and the fights are awesome, but it's really about exploring crazy new places and meeting interesting characters. Not to mention that it's got some surprisingly emotional moments and a even the most positive and cheerful members of the crew have deep and tragic pasts. It's really an amazing mix of adventure, battle, humor, and storytelling.
