Hey, so for Irene, I don't think I'll get hit too hard, because I'm in southwestern Ontario, and a hurricane has not hit since 1956 and that was not even in gthe area I'm living in, we're supposed to, though, get the tail of it, so not too bad, and New York looks like a ghost town or at least it does when the Weather Network shows it. So yeah, Catch you later!

Hey!

By now the hurricane has passed by Virginia (I hope.) I'll just be spending the day watching some Evangelion 1.0 and 2.0, doing homework, then a pool party at my church later.

Peace out!

Heso! So, um... I'm legitimately unsure if I'm supposed to go to work in half an hour or not. On the one hand, New Jersey is in a State of Emergency and all businesses are supposed to be closed. On the other, the owner would never, ever listen to something like that if he thought he would lose money over it. On the other, if there's a power outage we can't open because... how the hell are we supposed to cook food when all the devices that do so are powered by electricity? However, I still have power and didn't lose it all night, that I know of... My manager said she's tell me if we were closed, but when I asked, she didn't respond. Sigh... The winds have died down and the Tornado Watch has passed, so I guess it's ok to go check...?

EDIT: Never mind. Finally got a response from the boss. Apparently, we'll be reopening at 2. I was scheduled to work from 9 until 2. Funny how that works.

Hey.

So... I'm not really sure what a hurricane looks like or how long it lasts.... so it MIGHT be hurricaning right now? It suddenly started pouring (it'd been drizziling for about an hour) and I guess it's kind of windy? It was pouring on and off all last night, too... but I really don't think we're in any danger of anything. Oop, pouring stopped again. Oop, it's back. Really windy, the rain's falling at like a 45 degree angle. However, it is perpendicular to my window, so I feel there's little need to close the window as it will get reallllly stuffy in here the moment I do. Wait, never mind, rain's back to a drizzle.

Also, I'm supposed to meet up with 3 of my guy friends later today for a GPP (Gamer's Pizza Party--we've been having them since 4th grade and we hadn't had one in like a year so we felt old, so we're having one today!). It's at my house, so I'm praying we don't lose power here (which we very, VERY rarely do, even when most of the town's knocked out. The only times we DO lose power is when all the town is okay except for my neighborhood). I'm so excited though--I miss just hanging out with my guy friends (who, prior to high school, were my ONLY friends) and being the only girl. There's something just satisifying about being one of the dudes again. Whoo!

Moi,

From what I last heard, the hurricane was downgraded to a tropical storm. Apparently it's moving over eastern New York now. It's gotten quite windy now here, but no rain in sight. Perfect weather to dry clothes outside (which my dad is doing).

Goodness, I just looked outside at the bird feeder and there are over 6 kind of birds out there. A bunch of sparrows and about 6 pigeons. Looks like a few cardinals as well. I know I recently filled the bird feeder, but, man. So many birds...*memorized by birds*

Anyway, not much to say about Irene. Wind, but no rain in western New York.

Hi! Everything I've seen said the hurricane wasn't nearly as bad as expected, though a lot of areas did lose power. Glad you guys didn't have much trouble.

I, meanwhile, spent most of the day at Disney's Blizzard Beach water park. Expect photos and a write-up on Pebble Version tomorrow.

Suddenly thought of this forum and decided to check this place out again. Been a busier than ever, but I'd thought I just drop by and say "hi".

Hey, welcome back! It sure has been a while. I'm sure you've got more news than that to share, don't you? You just don't think any of us would care. And hey, maybe we won't! But everyone posts things that other people don't really care about sometimes. That's the whole point of the Internet.

Hey.

Soooo we basically spent a bunch of time making fun of the storm. Though my friend's windchime DID get torn apart by the winds.... that was just about the extent of the damage. Frightening, I know. Don't worry, I'm okay!

So BAND CAMP IS TOMORROW! Super pumped for 12 hours of insanity a for three days straight!

Wait, I have to write two essays by next Tuesday? Eh, I'll get on that later.

Have fun at band camp, Saber!

And Silver, your post made me laugh. Even though I agree with you, I really don't have anything remotely interesting or unusual to share.
Thanks for the laugh, though. I needed it.

Hi! Welcome back, Faustgy! I modified Silver's statement just a little. I wish this wasn't the casee, but if you want to accurately sum up the internet...

Heyas. Well i'm sorry I have not been able to post for a long period of time. The reason for this is major depression that i have been going through. Not fun. Between the feelings of being absolutely worthlessness and hopelessness and the many thoughts of suicide, I haven't had a lot of time.

Hey!

Marluxia, you're not worthless at all. We're all still young and have much to look forward to in life. There are those people out there who love you a lot, and couldn't bear you having thoughts of suicide. Hang in there, my friend. We all wish you find happiness in your life on way or another!

That pool party from yesterday was awesome! I got to see a lot of cool people while there and hung out with my friends the whole time. Words couldn't describe how much fun I had. But that's over now... I'm now resuming my homework for the week and I'll be pretty busy...

Peace out!

The internet is really really great....

SO first day of band camp today! My feet already feel like they're gonna fall off! Usually, that doesn't happen until day two! Regardless, this year's show is RIDICULOUS! It's so freaking fast, and we're about two steps away from the people in front of/behind us... combine that with marching backwards at a ridiculous pace with a rookie marcher behind you = rather frightening. I've almost tripped over him twice already, and I was also nearly killed by the color guard twice because I get the lovely job of walking STRAIGHT THROUGH THEM. But, the music is AMAZING (Electric Light Orchestra!) and the drill will be fantastic, albeit terrifying to march. And difficult because it's SO FREAKING FAST and I have to take huge steps at 180 bpm and ohhhh boy this should be fun.

Also, Marluxia, you're not alone. One of my friends almost committed suicide this year (I still consistantly thank my friend that she called the cops to intervene) and that kinda shook me. I'd been struggling with depression before (though not to his extent) and I still ocassionally have issues with it, but I've just consistently reminded myself how important it is that I am here for him so that he'll never fall to that level again. If I can keep him going and on the path to life, then I know I've made a difference, and that I'm important. Just find something you can do to make a difference--maybe something as simple as community service somewhere. I dunno if it'll work for you, but it worked for me, and I just thought I'd put my two cents in.

Hi! Welcome back, Marluxia. Just remember, even if things aren't so great at the moment, as long as you're alive and you keep trying, you've got a chance to make them better.
