Hi! Personally, I'd rather be back in college than teaching at one...at least at the moment. Way too much beauracracy and way too much stuff not getting done till the last minute (which gives me even less time to get my own work done)...

I'm actually in a meeting right now. It's all about voting for people to fill out various committees. Of course, being new, I don't know anyone so I'm not voting which means it's kinda a big waste of time for me. And it begs the question, why couldn't they just send everyone ballots instead of taking up half the morning with a meeting?

Ah, you're considering Lehigh? My dad went there... I never heard much about it from him (most likely because I was still too young to start college recruiting by the time he died) but I know he still wore a Lehigh hat right until the end. Also, his Fraternity brothers still send us Christmas cards even knowing he's been dead for ten years. Which I always appreciated.

In other news, Burger King sucks a lot and you should never ever eat there. Ever. That is all.

Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Hey, friends!

I checked the voter's bonus comic today! I have not laughed so hard in awhile! Good for me, because nobody else was home!
I'll be able to seize control of our social group.
Is it weird... That I agree that I would totally say something like this. (I always say thank you if someone calls me scary, though :D)

In other news, School! It's... going to be back soon. I'm more excited than anyone is, though! Summer? Yeah, no hefty assignments stacked one on top of the other, but it's boring! (I'm still going to complain about school anyways. I know it to be true. )
I tried doing volunteer work (I did 8 hours as compared to my twin who did 21 hours, ha.) But because the place I signed up for had so many people volunteering, I actually ended up doing nothing. ...the hours still counted.... for... some reason. So even though school is a bunch of work, it helps entertain me, and makes me feel not useless! I'll also have a lot of other things to do relating to school, like going for Drama Club and other performing ensembles! Yay! Last year as a Middle Schooler, though. Most kids got their schedule, I haven't yet because they decided to separate our our groups by first names. ....Mine starts with an R. I am deeply anticipating for it's release.
Nothing else to say. So... *poofs*
That awkward moment when all your attachments just die.

Hi! Glad you like your comic, Puyon!

I'm finally back from the meeting and ready to actually start getting some work done. Well, after a quick run to the bank anyway. While I was driving back to my apartment, a rather neat (though probably not too realistic) idea came to mind. For some reason I got to thinking about Japan, how much I like telling people about it and showing them around, and the like. Then I remembered how some of use were talking about meeting in person a little while ago. So I thought, you know what would be really cool? For me to put together a PVF Japan tour. Of course, for something like that we'd need enough people with the time, money, and desire to go, which could be tricky. It would be fun though...

So, after weeks of me e-mailing my international buddy, I finaly hear back from her. I shouldn't blame her though, I'm guilty of late e-mails as well. Anyway, she's from Southern China and has been living there for 16 years before going to high school here for her junior and senior years. I'm moving in Sunday so I can finally meet here then, as well as see all my college friends again. Really can't wait.

Hey.

Back from touring colleges! You never really appreciate roll-out beds until you realize the alternative means being home... but I had a blast while I could! College is still big, mean and scary, and I should also try being sane and look into schools that I have better chances of getting into, but I've always been a ridiculous overachiever anyways.

Silver, we were eating at a Burger King in NJ and I'd hoped it'd magically be your Burger King, but it wasn't :( Or, if by some weird twist of fate it was, then fate is really twisty.

Josiah, if I had the funds and were a bit older, I'd totally love to do that. Japan is one of the top few countries on my imaginary list of countries I want to go to! Cornell has a great study abroad program for engineers, and if I go there (well, if I get into there first!) I'll probably head over to Japan.
May the Triforce be with you.

Heso! For all I know, it could have been... but either I wasn't there at the time or wasn't paying enough attention to the customers to notice you. But it's unlikely that it was, simply because there are Burger Kings freaking everywhere. Mine's kind of out of the way, compared to Lacy BK right on Route 9 or Manahawkin BK on Route 72...

But anyways. If you're still considering a PVF Japan tour in a few years, we'll talk. I've honestly still considered following in your footsteps and teaching English over there for a while... although I know if I did that I'd leave a few thousand dollars poorer than I was before. Also NJ to Japan is a very, very long distance relationship. Which I'm sure we could manage... if the timezones weren't totally opposite of each other.

But still, it's a thought.

Hi! If enough of you guys could afford it, I'd totally do a PVF Japan tour. Going off the top of my head, it'd probably cost $2000 - $3000 for airfare, hotels, and transportation for 1 1/2 - 2 weeks. That might also cover attractions, depending where we went and how long the trip was. Though you'd also need some cash on hand for food (you can eat fairy well in Japan for $5 or less per meal if you try) and spending money.

As for teaching there, you won't neccessarily lose money. If you get an average level salary (something I never did), are fairly frugal, and stay for 8 - 12 months, you could probably cover your expenses and pay off your plane ticket. You might even have a bit left over. If you want to do it my way and do a lot of touring and shopping, you might still be able to pay for everything out of your salary if you're careful, but unless you stay a lot longer than a year or have a really good salary you probably won't have any left over to save or make up for the cost of your plane ticket. Feel free to e-mail or PM me some time if you want me to go more in-depth.

As for Colly, I have a couple of friends who are also a couple. One of them got a teaching job in Japan but not the other so, before they left, they got married so that the one without the job could get in on a dependant visa. So it's not impossible to bring someone with you provided you're willing to go far enough. That will, of course, stretch your salary tighter though if you end up in the right area she might not have too much difficult finding an English teaching job of her own (or at least picking up some freelance work) once you're already in Japan.

Ello folks!

Since I've already been to Japan, twice, you can give my share of the funds to Saber. :-P

In other news, I've been working all day on my final AP project, plus coming here and there to talk about Evangelion. I also recently joined a new pool where more of my friends go. It's gonna be a blast the rest of this summer.

Peace out!

Yeah... see it's the "are fairly frugal" part I'd have trouble with. I'm normally pretty good about saving money and spending when I actually have it... but I don't think I'd be able to last in Akihabara. At first I'd think, "This stuff'll still be here later, I'll come back when I actually have money". Then when it comes time to leave... "I probably won't ever go to Japan again BUY IT ALL NOW".

Hi! Yeah, I know what you mean. Depending on what you're looking for, you can get quite a lot with your money in places like Akihabara if you shop around and/or know where to go. But yeah, it's pretty easy to go on a crazy spending spree at times. Especially if it's your first time or you're about to leave. Apartment and/or suitcase space can prove a useful limitation in that regard. Or you just need to force yourself to stop going in stores. The way I did it is that I always budget a certain portion of money I earn as "spending money" which is what I use to buy fun non-essential stuff (games, books, DVDs, etc). So, whenever I did a shopping trip while in Japan, my current amount of spending money was my budget. It worked fairly well, though I occasionally went over if I spotted something that was either a really good deal or so rare that there was no telling when I'd find another one. On a first ever trip to Akihabara though, or a "who knows when I'll be able to come back trip" you really can't have too much spending money...

Hey.

I HATE spending money. I do whatever I can to avoid it. Well, most of the time. Sometimes, I feel bad for skipping iTunes and I buy some stuff in a more legal fashion, but other times... eh. And I remember every single time I lend friends money. Kind of money-obsessive. Derp. I rarely buy things, just as a general rule.

Sooooo I've re-opened my passion for Fire Emblem and I'm currently re-playing Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, Blazing Sword and Radiant Dawn (DS, Gameboy Advanced, Wii, respectively). Which game I play depends on what gaming system is nearby. Though, I probably won't finish my SD playthrough... didn't really like that one. Game mechanics are funky, and there's practically no time to get to know ANY of the characters. Pretty much no one talks except for Marth... Not to mention how RD KILLED supports. I don't care about the battle advantages, I just want my interesting converesations!! And for Lyn and Hector to get married because they're adorable. Even though I've got Lyn/Kent and Hector/Florina on this playthrough.... eh, you gotta do what you gotta do to unlock all the supports...

Hiya!

Today's my last day of summer vacation. As soon as I complete those finishing touches on my AP project, I'll be going to the pool to hopefully meet my buddies later. Then, perhaps another marathon of Evangelion or Sailor Moon. Today should be exciting by the way things are going. I'm going to bed at 9:00 so I can get up early tomorrow and go on my daily 1-hour jogs. I sure am looking forward to cross country and track season this year!

Also, I finally got to read that awards strip featuring me and Shauni. I loved it, haha!

Peace out!

Hi! I managed to get enough work done last week that I can take it easy today. I was originally planning to go to Orlando and hit a water park but there's some big festival going on near here today and after such a crazy week I wasn't really in the mood to drive 2 hours to Orlando and back anyway. So I'm relaxing and heading to the festival later this afternoon. I'll talk about it tomorrow on PV if it's interesting. Orlando can wait until Friday or Sunday.

Hey.

So, apparently my good friend's grandmother passed away. I heard about it from a secondhand source, so I don't know the details (other than it probably has to do with the fact that she's been smoking forever), but I'm kind of in shock. I mean, I knew she smoked a lot, but she always seemed so full of life. His grandmother lived in his house, so I saw her fairly often back when we used to hang out a lot, and I would still see her every time my friend was in a musical. She was always so friendly, and she'd give me a big hug... heck, it was just a couple weeks ago at Les Mis that she was there and hugged me. It just came out of nowhere; I thought she was doing fine.

And I was thinking of inviting him over to hang this week, but I don't really know what to do right now. I've never been good at reacting to these kind of things. I'm just still in shock that I won't be ever seeing her agian. It's hard for me to wrap my mind around. I struggle with these kind of things...
