Moi,

Man, I've been away for quite a bit, haven't I? Yeah...I've been doing some major relaxing after my finals and regents. I've also switched back to my nocturnal lifestyle. I'm only up at this time because I need to get some sleep soon.

And interesting thing happened on the day of my last regents, my Earth Science regents, to be precise. I expected to wake up around 8:00am, since my regents was in the afternoon, but, apparently, I forgot to set my alarm. By the time I woke up, my final had already started. My mom drove me to the regents, and I rushed up to the room. By the time I got there, I was almost an hour late. I was quite terrified that I wouldn't finish, luckily for me, Earth Science is one of my best classes. I finished it 20 minutes after the time we were allowed to leave (two hours after the start of the test). I still feel quite proud of myself for finishing it, even though I was an hour late.

Hmm...I've also recently gotten into a whole bunch of Mind series. Those series being: 'Freeman's Mind', 'Barney's Mind', 'Shephard's Mind', 'Felix's Mind', 'Freeman's(-ish) Mind', 'Chell's Mind', and 'Parker's Mind'. (My favorite of the bunch is Shephard's Mind) If you have no idea what I am talking about, you can either go an watch any of these amazing series, or read my, most likely, long and very confusing description of what 'Mind series' are....I'll give you a few seconds...
...
...
...Okay, long enough.
A Mind series is kind of like a commentary of a game, but instead of the commentary coming from the person playing the game, the commentary is coming from the actual protagonist in the game. Most mind series are based on games where the main protagonist is silent, such as Gordon Freeman in Half-Life, or Chell in Portal. These games also tend to be in first person. This makes it a bit more like you are inside their heads, listening to what they are thinking, and seeing what they are observing....I guess...
Now trust me, I have seen some mind series that are just 12 year old kids, pointing a video camera at a screen, making immediate commentary (with the weirdest/highest voices you have ever heard). These series, I will really only watch for a quick laugh. The series that I mentioned before are some better known series, and if anyone wants to start getting into a mind series, I'd suggest one of those. If I could recommend one to start with, I'd start with 'Freeman's Mind', probably one of the best known mind series out there.

Oh blah, I wrote a lot on that...Oh well. Just trust me, the mind series I mentioned are pretty good...so...yeah...watch them if you have the time...and now I believe it is time for me to get some sleep.

Hey.

Well, the only final that mattered for me (all my other classes, I'd have to bomb the final in order for it to make an impact) I didn't manage to pull off. In the past, I have, and I'm a rather disappointed with myself. I needed 4 points better on my final project for AP US to get an A-... and I'm really frusturated that she didn't just give them to me. I've been working so freaking hard all year... it's kind of obnoxious to know I could have slacked and still gotten that B+. Otherwise, all A's in the rest of my classes, but that B+ kind of cemented the fact that I no longer have a shot at salutatorian... eh, that was a bit of a reach, anyways. Eh, as long as I get the special gold sash/ribbon/thing you drape over your neck that you get for top 10% (I think), I'm happy.

On a more positive note, SAT scores came back today! I did better in Critical Reading, which was the section I needed to improve, but I also surprised myself by doing better in Math and Writing! 2300 overall, which I'm satisfied with, which means NO MORE TAKING THE SATs YESSSSS!!! *does victory dance*

Hi! Congrats, Saber! That's a great score.

Nothing too exciting going on with me at the moment. Working on stuff, thinking about how annoying it's going to be to move again so soon, etc.

Yo! I'm in Ohio, I have my computer, and we have internet! Joy!

Hmhm, my twin just took her SSAT today, rather dumb how she takes the SAT, sends in her test scores, recipients say they're impressed, and then have her take another test. Gah. But otherwise, I'm having a fine time here in not my house.

But... I heard that there was a rough storm there, back in my town, like hail, flooding, and falling trees. Power Outages as well. I did see the family we left at home post on facebook, so everything has gone better than expected C: ...for now.

Hey.

Well, last night I was up 'til 2 AM reading Mockingjay, and then up for another hour after that because the book left me with a freaking adrenaline rush (not to mention I got so teary eyed by the end (I kind of broke at SPOILER Prim's death. I was blindsided. I had mentally prepared for pretty much everyone else to die. Not Prim.) that it was hard to read the last few pages... I had to keep wiping my eyes). I don't think I've ever been so emotionally invested in a book. Collins is just such a fast-paced writer, it's not even that she's an exceptional one, or anything (I even noticed a few typos, and several more grammar errors... but I do that a surprising amount with lots of books). Katniss reminded me quite a bit of myself, though, which I guess helped to account for it.

And now I find myself the proud owner of several fan-made tunes to the lyrics of Rue's Lullabye and The Hanging Tree. I can never let go when a book/series that I really liked is over, I always have to find something else that makes it still go on >.< Regardless, I found an amazing version of The Hanging Tree that I'm planning on learning the piano part for... oh, and I'm working on making a new duct tape wallet (my current one is so blah! I've gotten SO much better with duct tape art since I made it) that's going to have the Mockingjay on it. Whoo! Trickiest design I've attempted so far, but I think I can do it.

...The family being left at home including Colly, with whom I spent the greater portion of the day with at burger King, and who will testify that... people are freaking ridiculous.

So we had a busy lunch, but that's normal. The storm also didn't start until about 1:30, which is when things usually slow down. Usually, but... see, we lost power. Usually we have to shut down if we lose power, because that means no refrigerator and no food. Unfortunately, it came back on within a few minutes. And even though it was a torrential downpour, even though the winds were enough to knock trees over, even though our roof was leaking and we had clearly been hit by lighting, and even though we had people coming in just to take shelter because visibility was so restricted... people still continued to come into Burger King. Through Drive Thru. And a lot of them. Seriously, what the hell? When the weather's like that, you go home. It isn't safe to drive. Go hide in your freaking basement. But nooo, we were getting killed by stupid customers who didn't seem to understand that we were not prepared to deal with them. Our computers were completely down, the broiler needs half an hour to start up once it's been shut off, we needed to clean up the ceiling tile that fell down in the dining room... but people still kept coming to eat freaking Burger King. I just don't understand...

Let this be a lesson to all of you: Do NOT eat at a fast food restaurant when the rain's so bad you can barely see. If it is hailing and you don't want to open your window, neither do WE. We DO NOT care about your business that much. You are PATHETIC if you think eating freaking Burger King is worth driving in that kind of weather. You SUCK.

Edit: Just started raining again. Again. Again. Always on and off with this New Jersey weather...
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Oi, I do not miss working fast food. And if I ever do, I still have the uniform they let me keep when they lost all my files, I could probably sneak back in. Actually, I went back last year and some of the workers recognized me and asked if I was coming back. It had been two years, I really don't think I was that memorable.

Hi! I tend to avoid Burger King regardless of the weather. I suppose I've got nothing against the place, but if I want a hamburger (and don't have the time and inclination to make one myself) I'd much rather got to Red Robin or Smash Burger and get a really good one even if it costs more.

Good luck with the weather! It's perfect here (well, other than being really hot, but that's what the swimming pool is for). Can't say I'm looking forward to dealing with all that crazy east coast weather when I move to Florida this fall...

On a completely different note, did I mention that I got a new control box for my DDR pad? Nothing was wrong with the old one, but the new one works with my PS3. I don't have the PS3 version of DDR, but now I can play Project Diva Dreamy Theater with my dance pad, which is extremely awesome. Sure the button charts weren't really made for it and learning to play on the diagonals instead of the arrows isn't easy, but it's still cool.

In other news, I'm still waiting for Forum Awards nominations from a lot of you guys. Remember that you only have through tomorrow (Saturday) to send them in.

Moi,

I barely go to fast food places anymore. I normally am fine as heck staying out and away from them. (I used to have nightmares of places like those when I was young, so I've never really liked them, at all) If I really need a hamburger, I'll normally just make one myself. If I'm out of meat to make them with, I'll either just give up and look for something else, or my dad might go to a cheap and close place called Don's Original.

Mmmm...cake...Oh! I almost forgot to mention. For my birthday presents, I got some new speakers for my iPod, and a hat, t-shirt, and pin-button with the phrase "It's OK to be Takei!" on them.

And...I guess I'll go back to playing Animal Crossing: Wild World now.

I know what you mean, Silver. It's been crazy here too. Especially since I'm lifeguarding again. It just so happens that the previous three days of torrential downpour we were going through training. Really messed up my schedule. It was supposed to be 1 to 6, but the first day got cut short so the next two were 10 to 6. I didn't get paid for any of it either. I mean, couldn't it have rained on a day I was normal working? Working when it's raining is awesome because I get paid to sit on top of the pavilion and play cards with the other lifeguards.
And yes, when it comes to thunderstorms people are incredibly persistent. It could look like a massive hurricane out there and people are still mad at you when you make them go to the pavilion. People still even try to get back on the beach. It's like they're thinking, hey, I paid to rent this beach house and I'm gonna make the absolute most of my time here even if it means being electrocuted or crashed into the jetty.

I haven't eaten fast food in a while. Kinda lost the taste for it, like it started making me sick. Guess after eating all the greek strained yogurt and Kashi cereal my body can't handle a Wendy's chicken sandwich anymore. Seriously we don't even have Oreo's in the house anymore. We've got Joe-Joe's, a Trader Joe's brand version of it...they're actually pretty good.

Anywho...Saber did you say you got a 2300 on your SAT's? Isn't that like almost a perfect score? That is absolutely amazing and you should feel good about it.
About Mockingjay, I read that series too. And believe me, [SPOILER]Prim's death took me by surprise too. I was like, haven't enough people died already? I know it's war, but man. And if that President woman actually did that on purpose, I mean, what? And poor Finnick and Annie. And those people in that hospital. You know what? Poor everybody. Aside for the Capital people up until the war, Panem was the definition of a Crapsack World.

Josiah, you're going to Florida? What for? I would ask you to say hi to my grandpa, but he's selling that condo he has down there.
I wouldn't ask to stay there though...there was this one time he suggested we stay in the condominium, but in a different condo. It was Father Egan's, and I can't remember if he's related to us or just a friend of the family. My poppy said he was okay with us staying there, just as long as we cleaned up afterwards.
Turns out he had no idea we were staying there at all.
We trespassed. In a priest's condo.

Hey Puyon, hope you have fun in Ohio. I mean, there's nothing wrong with Ohio, except the snow and the rain. And I really like Drew Carey and I'd love to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame [/bowlingforsoup]

Poison, you've got AC: WW? Nice. I've got it too...but I haven't played it in almost a year...which is probably not good in regards to the game.

tl:dr - Tourists and fast food goers are incredibly subborn and stupid, My stomach doesn't like fast food, my grandpa has questionable morals, I trespassed in a holy man's house, I like the band Bowling For Soup, and I haven't played Animal Crossing: Wild World in over a year.

Hey.

Thanks, guys :D A perfect score is a 2400, so I'm 100 off... but, eh I never pretended to be perfect :P

Hey, we got hit by that storm last night! Thunder and lightning, and all. When I woke up the next day, I couldn't remember if I had dreamed it or not (a lot of my dreams are aggrivatingly realistic, while others can be absolutely absurd, and my nights are kind of a blur of dreaming and being awake)... until I looked outside and everything was drenched. Though it's been raining on and off the past few days, we hadn't been THAT drenched before.

So, I drew out my mockingjay design and I was all excited and satisfied with it... until I realized I freaking drew it BACKWARDS. Y'see, you can buy duct tape in sheets, and I bought this sheet and I was drawing on the bottom side (not like, the sticky side of the tape, but the stuff you peel the tape off of) and I drew the design and I used a ruler and everything and carefully made the circle and AGH I forgot, since it's on the bottom, I'd have to draw it backwards for it to come out right when I actually cut it. Curses! Back to the drawing board... and let's hope I can actually cut this out with the x-acto knife when it comes down to it :/

Edit: Ahhh... AC: WW. Haven't played that one in over a year. When I do play it, though, I usually go through like a month/2 month-long period of obsession... then I just stop and don't play again for like a year. Oh, and I don't play during the spring. It just never happens. I know this because I never catch any spring bugs as a result. So yeah.

Heso! If I remember my dreams, they're pretty much always weird and random... like feeding Lady Gaga to a shark with tentacles. Coincidentally, last night I had a dream that I was swimming with Lady Gaga, and we were attacked by a tentacle shark so I threw her to it to save myself.

Hi! I mentioned it before, but I've got a job teaching game design at Florida Gateway College. They're only just starting the program, it's not a full degree yet, and I'm pretty sure that I'll be the only teacher. Anyway, the initial contract is for nine months (fall and spring semesters). It's not really my ideal position or location, but it could be fun and it's a job so I'll give it a shot and we'll see how I like it and how popular the program ends up being (if it doesn't get enough students, the college might not want to keep it going).

'Lo, peeps. I didn't submit any nominations for the Forum Awards due to my intermittent absences from daily happenings over the past few months; for that reason, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I was nominated. Thanks, guys! ;-D

I am also finished school for the summer, but I still have to wait another year to graduate since a sucktacular period of mental illnesses caused me to miss a semester. And my school board requires at least 40 hours of volunteer work in order to graduate. But for now I have two months with no worries! Happy fun times! *Rides water slide into brick wall.*
