Round 4: The Village of Shadows

[Kaida]

"I wonder if sci-fi would be called that here or not, in fact I wonder if they have sci-fi at all." Kaida said looking around the book store. She wanted to really have a look at what sort of books they had and so decided to circle the entire book store looking at the different catagorys and inspecting them a little bit. She began by going down the far right isle.

((How many isle's are there?))

[Metalheadz]

"Did you find her, Tod? If so, we gotta come up with something."

[Winters Rage]

"Huh.. that wall again. I guess it must spread around the entire village, but why..? To keep someone in, or to keep something out?" He shuddered. "Gah, I'm over thinking this... Hmm... I got a great view of the town last time, I bet I've traveled almost across the whole town! I'll follow this wall until I reach a corner." Chris said, as he came up close to the wall and started following it true west.

(If a building is in the way, just say he went around it or something unless you need me to encounter an 'event' or something.)

D.G. headed to the indicated aisle and, after a few minutes of searching, found the Portal Panic books. The titles were: The Master Fan's Guide to Portal Panic, Notable Portal Panic Contestants, The Intergalactic Treasure Hunt: The Impact of Portal Panic on Society, Hostly's Official Unauthorized Biography, and Portal Panic Highlights Volumes 1 - 3.


KAIDA
((There's six aisles.))
Kaida began strolling down the further aisle on her right, skimming the shelves as she went. The first half was taken up primarily by cookbooks while the second half had various home and hobby titles. At the back of the shop, she could see a counter with an old man sitting behind it. ((Are you approaching the man, taking a closer look at the books, or moving on to the next aisle?))


CHRIS
There was a road leading along side the wall and, from what Chris could tell it seemed to go quite a ways until it reached the corner of the wall. Along the way, various roads led south into various parts of the village. There were also occasional staircases leading up onto the wall. ((Are you going to be paying much attention to the other roads and/or climbing the wall?))

[Kaida]

"Oooo cookbooks, extraterrestrial cook books, must lookie" Kaida said as she went to inspect the cook books.

((There's quite a lot of cookbooks. Are you looking for any particular kind or just skimming the entire section?))

[Winters Rage]

((Just have him keep following the wall until it reaches the corner OR until he reaches the last stair case before the corner))
"I guess I'll climb the wall again, to get a better view from a different angle, maybe I'll find a clue or even the portal..." Chris said, following the wall.

[Kaida]

((Looking for desserts and pastry (if they have pastry) mainly but skimming the section as well.))

CHRIS
Chris followed the wall for about fifteen minutes until he reached the corner. As it so happened, there was a staircase built right into the corner section of the wall.


KAIDA
There were sections for different meals, different types of foods (soups, salads, breads, etc), and different planets' quisine. The desert section (which seemed to include pastrys as well) include books like: Cabby Caldweb's Complete Guide to Cakes, 1002 Popular Deserts from Around the Galaxy, Everyone's Favorite Deserts (And a Few Not So Favorites), and The Secret of Ontellion Pastries.

"Wow, it'll take a long time to read all these... good thing I have super speed!" D.G. said cheerfully as he read through all the books as fast as he could.

((Super Speed lets you move really fast. However, it doesn't give you speed reading abilities so while you could flip through all the pages of the books in a very short amount of time, you really won't have any clue what the books say.))

(Eh, I didn't think that would work. Still worth a try though.)

D.G. decided to skim through "Portal panic highlights volume one" to see if he could find any sort of useful information. "Maybe there's a clue or two in here somewhere..." He said hopefully as he turned to the index page.

"Where are they?" I think to myself. "I wonder if they are o-k?" I wiggle more. "Ugh if only I was stronger."

[Phonox]

"There she is!" Tod exclaimed and ran towards Kako to free her from the ropes.

[Kaida]

"This one sounds good." Kaida said grabbing 1002 Popular desserts from around the Galaxy. "I wonder how much variety it has" She continued flicking through the pages.
