That's awesome, congrats Kaida! And also, from what I hear Windows 7 is faster... but uses up more RAM. That seems really contradictory to me, and seeing as XP works just fine for me I'm not going to upgrade yet.

Reading The Hunger Games right now, it's pretty interesting. More later, when I finish.

Hi.

I swear that this essay of mine is stressting me out abit too much. If only I was given more time on it...

But in other news, in light of my return I've decided to finally at least get a new post on 3 of my stories that are floating around in the forums. Especially the Golden Sun since the next game comes out the end of November :)

On a side note, I just realized i've been on these boards for 6 years as of 3 days ago. Been an intresting trip.

Hi! Congrats, Kaida!

It's the first day of sukkot today (a Jewish holiday which involves building and spending time in booths outside) so there's going to be a service a little later. Weather permitting, we're also going to have a camp out tomorrow night involving a movie (projected onto the side of the house) and bonfire. Should be fun.

On versions of Windows... 7 is generally very stable, has some nifty new features (though a lot are hidden in the background so you may not notice), and tends to run a bit faster than XP and Vista (provided you have a good enough computer). I personally don't see it as a huge improvement over Vista (which I really liked), but it's probably worth an upgrade from XP, provided you're computer is powerful enough. If you're getting a new computer, there's no reason not to get 7.

Below the scale? Impressive.

WAIT IT COMES OUT THAT SOON? That is mad exciting!!!!!!!

I never played the original, but I played the second one... never beat it, 'cos I lost it, but... such a great game!! Should get a ROM... I mean... I owned the game...

So every time we play the full show for marching band my chops feel like they're gonna fall off. Whee.

And the genius section leader of mine came up with the new trumpet hand shake: We stand in a circle and slap each other's.... butts. We're such a cool section.

...I liked last year's handshake better.

Heso! Screw the stinkbugs, screw the Titanic, I think my reality has just been shattered more!

Someone that likes Vista?! Ok I'll admit, I really haven't used it much. Never had it on any of my computers, just experienced through other places so I don't have much of an opinion either way but... No one likes Vista! The main reason I never used it much was out of fear! If so many people that know computers inside and out say that Vista is terrible, that usually means it's best to stay away. But... Josiah, whose opinion I generally respect... liked it? I don't know what to think...

Anyways, I do like 7. If you're getting a new computer, 7 is definitely the way to go, no question. If it was for the sake of upgrading on an old computer, I wouldn't say it's worth it, but if the computer can handle it there's no reason not to, as Josiah said.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Hmm... I'm going to get a new computer in January (my parents thought it'd be a good idea to put some money in a GIC for me about 4 years ago and it's finally opening up! By the way, they're not worth it. $4000 got me about $18 extra over 4 years...) and I was just going to throw XP on and save some money, but if it's really that good I'll have to consider 7.

I can't believe how incredibly rainy it's been here. Yesterday was the first sunny day in over a week and it's raining again today. Makes it very difficult to push myself to jog.

Hi! I never understood why so many people hated Vista. It's the most stable OS I've ever used (even more than 7), it was easy to upgrade to (had to update some drivers and stuff but the upgrade advisory gave me a convenient list of what needed updating), had some nice improvements over XP (stability and convenience stuff mostly), and didn't force me to use the "new" style start menu (*cough*7*cough*). I know a lot of people said it was slow, but from my experience it ran just as fast as XP and 7 and took up less disc space to boot. Actually, I wish I'd left Vista on my current laptop instead of upgrading to 7 (not that I don't like 7, but Vista was slightly more stable and the upgrade process was a huge pain in the neck). I have a feeling that a lot of the people who complained about Vista did so just because they wanted to complain about Vista (probably cause Microsoft over-hyped it), or because they tried upgrading without running the advisor first, and not for any good reason.

Speaking of computers though, my new laptop is supposed to arrive on Saturday! It'll probably take a couple days to install things and copy all of my files over (a mostly automated process now thanks to a couple programs I have, but rather time consuming when there's over 70 gigs of stuff to transfer), but it's been four years since my last computer so I'm looking forward to playing around with it.

I must say, Vista is the least reliable OS I've used (but I've never used ME). But that's not important. I do suggest 7, frankly, because I've had less problems with it then any other OS, it's faster, and something I noticed rather quickly is, switching from Vista to 7 on my new laptop made my battery life over an hour longer. I think that statistic speaks for itself.

I heard that the average gain from Vista to XP (yes, back a generation) is half an hour of battery life, and the same from XP to 7. Save green and the green by conserving electricity. :-P

Hey!

I had a fun time with my friends' party today. We watched Poltergeist in the basement, it was amazing. Though I did get a little scared afterwards, I don't think I'll be watching some TV for a while. heh

Hi! I'm posting from my new laptop! The smaller screen (I dropped from 17" to 16" to improve portability) and slightly different keyboard arrangement are going to take some getting used to and I've got a zillion things that still need to be copied and installed, but it's up and running and all that.

Hey.

So I saw Wicked at the Boston Opera House last night and it was AMAZING!!! Like, words cannot even describe. I've been listening to the soundtrack for... a bit over two years now, and I've been dying to see the show and then Wicked came to Boston and we got tickets and then we went and it was even more incredible than I thought it would be! About the plot, I only knew wat I could piece together from the songs and a few things my friend told me... it was kind of nice finally being able to see the full plot :P

Elphaba was freaking amazing... she did Defying Gravity and No Good Deed perfectly... of course, she's no Idina Menzel, but, then again, no one is, so yeah. G(a)linda had an absurd amount of energy, it was wonderful. Her lines were freaking hilarious. She kind of overdid it a bit on Popular (she was like... so energetic she was breathing heavily and it was kind of hard to tell what she said sometimes, but I knew all the lyrics :P ), but she was wicked talented, so it's okay. Fiyero was great, too... It was just so amaziiiing~ I was crying by the end... they did amazing on For Good, which is one of my favorite songs in the world~

So now it's RP week and I have one of the busiest weeks of my life? Cool beans... time to rock.

Hi! RP Week has begun! I may post that new RP idea of mine a bit later today. Gotta transfer some more stuff to my new computer and get a bit of work done first though.

Hey.

I think I overdid it a bit in my last post in the Azuri RP. I've been waiting to make it for kind of forever... so it ended up going on ridiculously long... but it's RP week, soyeah :P

And now back to AP US reading... and TV Tropes... and listening to Wicked... and working on a short story... and working on the story PurplePrincess and I are writing together... and working on finishing touches for my new RP so I can get it out this week... WHEEE

Hey!

Are you kidding, Saber? That post will probably go in the record books one day. :-D

Nyeh, school starts tomorrow. All I'm doing now is finishing up my weekend reading and checking Blackboard. Peace out! P.S anybody use Blackboard?

Hi! My new computer is mostly up and running at this point (still need to test and possibly reinstall a few programs, but everything else is done). Also, if you didn't notice yet, I made a thread for my new RP.

This one teaching job I applied for in Japan has been asking me some questions over e-mail lately, though they haven't asked for a phone interview yet so I'm not sure if they're really serious or not (the e-mails make it sound kinda like they are, but I don't know). It's not my idea teaching job (it's a private language school, not a public school, and further from Tokyo than I'd prefer) but it would work. Not sure if I want to get it or not. I mean, I would like to go back to Japan, even if it's not the "perfect" job, but several weeks on vacation might be good enough for me... There's some stuff I really miss about Japan but a lot of stuff I know I'd miss from the US. Not to mention that teaching isn't game writing and design. Though, with the way the economy is, there's no telling if/when I can find a game job. My book and Car Washer could help, but I don't know when they'll be released (probably spring for the book and Car Washer is progressing slower than I'd like so it might have to wait till then too). Teaching in Japan also doesn't directly help my career but it's only a year contract. Though, if I'm there long enough, I could really work on my Japanese and take some of the language proficiency tests. Maybe get into games as a translator or something, though it'd probably take a while to get my Japanese "that" good... Anyway, guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.
