Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Heso! Your subconscious failed to realize, though, that although facebook tells you that I am in a relationship, it does not tell you who it's with... and Colly's doesn't say anything at all. So you will never find out our true identities! Though I have left some hints lying around... I suppose I should be more careful about that.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Hey.
So, I bought a little pewter fish down in Virginia... and now I can't find it and am really pissed off because I intented to give it as a present. Shoot. Epic fail, Saber. Epic fail.
Waaaah, I never lose anything >.<
Oh, and HI DOODLE!! :D
In my dream, you had another Facebook that was for real-life friends, and that one was the one that was under the "in a relationship with" button thingy. I had already somehow magically figured out that my camp friend was undoutably Colly (and then I found her in person in my dream and asked her and she was like "wait, how'd you figure that out?? WAIT YOU'RE SABER KNIGHT OMG") And, anywho, I didn't even really need to click the button, considering I know who she's in a relationship with in real life... and Silver turned out to be that person in the dream and this is getting really confusing because I'm avoiding real names and I'm not sure if I'm talking about my friend in the dream (AKA Colly?) or her in real life with her real not-Silver boyfriend and I'm just gonna stop now because I'm CONFUSED.Silver wrote:Heso! Hi! After a week of farming Platinom Ingots in FFXIII so I could get enough gil to upgrade all my stuff and get the Item Collector trophy, I'm nearly done. Should finish today in fact. Then I can finally get back to doing something fun and take down the rest of the marks. I understand that you don't really need much gil in the game unless you're going for that trophy but still, they could have made it a little easier to come by...

Hellou!
AP Exams are coming up soon. Unfortunately, my class won't be able to finish the AP Physics B curriculum in the time we have left, so I'm going in at 85-90% of concepts understood. Oh god, I hope the free response doesn't have a question on relativity or nuclear physics. I mean, I can study that by myself, but it won't really do much good with all my other projects thrown at me. AP Stat is a pain too, since my teacher oversimplified many of the lessons. A lot of it is easy, but I'm just worried about the last free response question. Wish me luck!

Konnichiwa.
Whoo, I love that random stand down Library Walk that sells Japanese merchandise! I bought my FFVII and FFX soundtracks from them one or two quarters ago, and just now I got the FFVII: Advent Children OST too. <3

Hey.
Silver, you took the AP English Language and Comp exam, right? ...wanna give me a heads up? I've done a TON of practice... but... like... not a full-length test practice. Any pointers?
Goooood luck! I'm taking both those classes next year, wanna give me a heads up on them, and how bad the AP test is? I'm taking the English Language and Composition one on May 12th... God, I don't have enough time >.< I'm not actually IN an AP course... just, for some reason, the combined English/Social Studies class I'm taking qualifies me for it. So, basically, I prep a bit before school on Tues and Fri, but she basically just gives us stuff to read and practice prompts. Sooooo not ready... agghhh... I'm studying a BUNCH on my own.... she said I'm one of the few in the class that she thinks will do well on the exam, and she told me to take AP English senior year (since you can't take it any year BUT senior year) becuase my essays so far have been good, within the 7 or 8 range... I think that's a good sign. Multiple Choice I've been doing pretty good on, too... but I KNOW I'll get hard prompts day of, and I've only done one practice synthesis and argumentive essay >.< Neither of which she has graded yet... but, I'm apparenlty good at analysis.Phonox wrote:Hellou!

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Well as of Monday afternoon I'm officially done second year!
Drove home around noon Monday and started dropping off resumes on Tuesday. Had my first interview this morning, it went well but I think it could have gone better. My family's moving on 3 weeks (not far, just about a 20 minute drive South of where we are now, upgrading from renting to actually owning!) and my sister broke her hand recently so it turns out I'm doing almost all of the packing myself. So I've been slightly busy, but now I'm resting a bit.
There's an anime store in Richmond! I've seen stores that sell anime things, but I've never seen a store dedicated to anime before. This is awesome, definitely checking it out more when I get the chance

Heso! Pick the most grammatically correct answer.
K-kidding! Well, huh... I don't really remember it being too hard, but I did have more time to prepare... I took the class proper and all. Just make sure you read everything carefully. The questions are trying to trick you. Also, if you can help it, try not to spend too much time on the first two essays. The last one is what you'll need to put the most thought into, so save up for it. Multiple choice questions... if you can narrow it down to two, guess. If not, don't. It is the kind of test where getting an answer wrong costs more than not answering. The problem is, you can almost always get it down to two easily, but both of those answers will be "right." They just won't be "best." What you're looking for is "best." They push that to the limits...

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi! Nice to see some activity here.
Since there's some talk about anime stores, fair warning to those of your who care, I've noticed that a lot of anime stores in the US sell bootleg music CDs and soundtracks instead of the official releases. Usually said bootlegs both look and sound just like the real things so quality isn't a huge concern, but if you're like me and like getting official stuff, you need to keep an eye out. The easy way to tell is to check the brand. Miya Records is a big bootleg company as is K-M (or something like that, can't remember the exact name). Since said bootlegs generally look legit (other than the brand), I've never quite figured out if the stores that sell them simply don't know, or if they purposely buy the bootlegs to save money. Some anime stores sell Chinese bootleg DVDs as well, but those tend to be really easy to spot (cheaper looking cases, Chinese sub-title optioins, etc).

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Ohayou.
Huh, I never really considered whether what I was buying was authentic or not. So far I've only gotten those three Final Fantasy OSTs, all from the same stall that shows up sometimes in front of University Center. They said they get their stuff from a collector who, I dunno, doesn't want his stuff anymore? All the CDs I got were shrink-wrapped and include booklets with the credits and lyrics for songs, so it seems pretty legit to me. o_o
...and it's all written in Japanese, meaning I can't read half of it...
The only other Japanese merchandise I bother purchasing is manga, all of which I either buy at Kinokuniya in Little Tokyo or one of two Book-Off! stores not-exactly-nearby-but-within-driving-distance. Kinokuniya....I dunno, it's in Little Tokyo, it should be pretty legit. oo' And Book-Off! sells used manga, so I dunno what that'd count as. ._.

Hi! Kinokuniya and Book-Off are US branches of Japanese retail chains so everything they have should be legit (and I've never seen bootleg manga anyway). Bootleg CDs usually do come shrink-wrapped with booklets and everything. If you want to know, look at the "spine" of the CD case when it's closed. There should be a name and/or logo for the recording label near either the top or bottom. If you're not familiar with the names of Japanese record labels, a quick Google search can tell you if they're legit or not.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi! Yeah, I've got a few bootleg CDs myself. It wasn't until after I got back from Japan (where spent a ton of time shopping for game and anime music and therefor got kinda familiar with the Japanese record labels) that I started to notice that a lot of the ones in US stores weren't legit.
Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Whoa-oa-oa! I feel good!
I just finished my AP Stat exam and I feel amazing! I answered almost all of the multiple choice problems, answered all the free response questions save for part of one question, and I actually knew how to do number 6! Woo!
Now all that's left this year is the AP Physics B exam.
