Gareth sensed something stir and grabbed his poleaxe from his back, holding it with one hand. He stared directly at Zill.

Inha giggled. "Short stuff," she repeated, "I like that. But yeah, I'm up for it." She nodded at Mano'kai for the complement of her daggers. She started off, following just a few steps behind Evrona. "So ya know what you're doing, I guess?"

Mano'kai followed quietly behind the others, staring curiously at Evrona. But soon, her attention wandered, and her eyes began to list back and forth around the landscape before her.
At least if I go to the village, I may find water available to drink. That'll surely stave it off for the time being. She assured herself as she watched a cloud slowly move across the sky.

Kauka looked over at Gareth. "What is it?" she asked, temporarily leaving Kagetsuki alone and walking over to him. "Did you see someone? Is it an elf?" Wistfully, she added, "I'd like to meet an elf..."

"It's probably someone else hiding behind a tree who didn't want to be spotted," Wodahny muttered, squinting in the direction Gareth was looking. She raised her voice. "Whoever's out there, you might as well come out now. Considering how varied our group is already, I don't think any of us would take offense to what you are." She thought about that for a moment, then added, "Much." She eyed Gareth. "We won't hurt you, not unless you try to hurt us first. Don't mind Mr. Poleaxe over there. He did the same thing to me."

Iah left his firewood pile alone for a while and glanced in Zlli's direction. After a few moments, he turned away again and searched the ground. He eventually picked up a slender twig and a length of a thicker branch. A gust of wind (which affected nothing else) cleared off any debris from a boulder, where he then sat. The angel set the branch on his lap and began peaceably twirling the twig, drilling into the branch and waiting for a telltale wisp of smoke.

Zlli stood up once she knew they spotted her out of the trees. With her long tail moving from side to side, her face was just a wonder to see. She stepped out in the sun and just as she did, the horns on her head shinned. She would do nothing right now, unless they get hostile.

Now what, Zlli thought as they were just about 200 feet from her.

Gareth lowered his axe non-threateningly.

Gilantias stiffined and Arielli's eyes widened in fear. She opened her mouth to scream, but terror gripped her and her voice failed her. Instead, she clung tighter to her protector.

Instinctively, Gilantias drew his sword. It slid from it's sheath with a metallic ring and gleamed in the faint sunlight as he held it before him. "Demon!" he barked. "I knew I felt uneasy...."

Though Gil's every instinct screamed at him to attack the half-demon, he refrained, and merely setted with holding his sword threateningly. "Do you mean to do us harm?" he asked through gritted teeth. "Because if you do I can assure you you will regret it."

Evrona glanced down at Inha. "Not particularly, no, but we'll just have to see how everything turns out," she said gruffly. As they walked, soon voices could be heard in the distance, prompting Evrona to say, "Well, looks like we're there."

It wasn't totally obvious at first. Sure, the group could now see several elves walking about, but it didn't seem like enough to constitute a settlement. Upon closer inspection, one could see that there were doors in the larger trees, and elves going in and out of said doors. Evrona pointed upward. In the trees were many moor elves, and wooden bridges spanning from tree to tree. "Elves are descended from angels," she explained briefly. "Though they may be surface folk now, they still like high places."

"Halt!" barked a voice. Evrona stoped and looked up, irritated. An elf wearing green soldier uniform was looking down at them from above.

"We're just travelers come here to get some supplies." The guard examined the group breifly, and then nodded.

"Alright, you may come on in." Evrona shook her head as she continued walking forward.

"Really," she said to herself with a sigh. "A few guards really wouldn't be able to do anything in the face of a real danger... but, elves will be elves. Them and all their rules and regulations." She turned to Inha and Mano'kai.

"Alright, since I'd rather not have to suffer your presences any longer than necessary, we're splitting up. It's more efficent anyway. Just don't get lost... actually.... on the other hand..." Evrona drifted off and, without finishing her sentence, simply walked off. "Find supplies. We'll meet back later. Don't take too long."

She walked over to a tree and looked upwards. "Oi!" she shouted irritably. Soon, a platform dropped down and she stepped on. After tugging the rope, it was pulled up, and Evrona stepped off onto a large branch. After doing so, she nimbly lept onto one of the wooden bridges present, leaving an irritated elf holding the rope.

"A thank you would have been nice..." he muttered, but Evrona either didn't notice or pretended not to hear. Probably the latter.

With a few steps forward, Zlli put a hand to her neck piece. "If you put your sword away, I'll leave peacefully, but if you want to fight, I'll be happy to change into your worst fear." She held her breath for just a second while her tail was moving from side to side like a cat mad. "If you want to fight lets go."

Gareth only stood there, as unmoved as a stone would be, and spoke plainly. "It's unwise enough to hide like a criminal, when most people would have just been on their way. Now you make threats. On one hand, you're being hostile. On the other hand, if you were any real threat you wouldn't walk up, in a weakened state, and alert the ones you were stalking to your method of attack. You were planning on a attacking but not seriously, you are a magnet for trouble, or the object of your misstep is aimed for something more valuable than random violence."

"There you go again, assuming everyone likes to walk around in broad daylight like you do," Wodahny exclaimed in exasperation. "Look, Gareth, we don't hide because we intend to sneak up on people and maul them. We hide because we don't know what we've run into and want to be cautious, alright? I'm sure that if she-" The mercenary indicated Zlli with a jerk of her chin. "-had wanted to kill us, she could have attacked long ago, when we were still disorganized. I mean, why bother waiting until we're all concentrated in one place?"

Kauka was, predictably, gazing at the half-demon much as a kitten would watch a stranger, wondering if it were a threat or not. "That's a demon? I've never seen one before." Her eyes followed the tip of Zlli's tail back and forth. "She's pretty."

"And you stay where you are until we figure out what's going on," Wodahny snapped at the mermaid. Kauka obediently remained standing near Gareth, although she did wave at Zlli.

Iah sighed and abandoned his attempts at making a fire; they weren't going so well. He looked between Zlli, Gareth, and Gil, then returned his gaze to Zlli. "I believe I speak for all of us when I say we do not wish for a fight," he told her. "But if you would agree to stay a while longer, I would like to know why you were following us. From your words, it would seem you don't desire to fight, but if there really was nothing of interest about us, you would not have strayed so near our camp and so risked being detected."

Zlli removed her hand from the necklace and put it back to her side. Her tail stopped flickering and she took a minute to relax her legs and arms. Bending over, she took a second to get back up and her gaze was still on the group. yet she took a few steps forward to get into the shadows. "Demon, you should really research that if you want to call me that. I'm a Half-Demon, and my name is Zlli for short. I can give my full name but you wouldn't understand it at all. for me following you, I wanted to see the upper world for my two eyes and wanted to see everything that I can. I'll be no threat to you if you don't attack me, but if you attempt in it, I'll change form. This necklace also gives me immunity to sunlight, which is also good for me to walk during the day instead of the freezing night. I carry nothing else with me, but a small pouch with me at all times," holding the pouch up for them to see, Zlli put it back around her, "yet somethings do change for the best, I guess."

Zlli was trying to stay calm, but feared that these people might attack, so she put her hand around her necklace once again and seeing what they might do.

Mano'kai watched after Evrona until she dissappeared out of sight. Hm...okay then.
Following a long pause, she said, Well. I don't know what we're supposed to get. She stood there for a little longer, then walked off without another word.

Gareth clutched his axe tight and braced himself as Zilli clutched her necklace, instinctively reacting to the threat of a magical attack.

Arielli cringed behind Gilantias' wing. "Sh-she's not lieing... I-I c-can tell."

"You're certain?"

"Y-y-yes..." Despite this, Elli seemed not to be reassured in the slightest. Gilantias was reluctant to put away his blade. One of the most important things that angels are taught is how terrilbe and awful demons are--how they live to destroy and cause chaos everywhere. However, as his scholary instinct said, this could be a great time to do a study on the behavior of demons. He could tolerate this demon for the time being... she, by her words, was not intent on harming them, and Gilantias trusted Elli's magic greatly.

With visable effort, Gil sheated his sword. "I trust you to not harm us," he said, blatently. "You'd better not disappoint me."

Meanwhile, Evrona had traveled around and bartered with several elves. Most importantly, she had come across a resonable up to date map. It cost her a bit of money, but it was worth it. Currently, she was examining the parchment and muttering to herself. She dully recalled that she had come to the settlement with some people, and should probably come back with them.

Ignoring the contraption used to descend to the floor, Evrona raised her arm and called a pillar of earth from the ground. She casually stepped on it and moved her arm down, causing it to move downwards. "Yohoo! Time to come back now, or I'm gonna ditch yeh!"

While roaming around the market place, Mano'kai had managed to purchase a large bottle of water. Half of it she gulped down immediately, but she waited until she had found a secluded spot before dousing herself in the rest. Her mermaid instincts now considerably dulled, she continued to look around without worry. She had just bought a few fresh apples and a loaf of bread when she heard Evrona shouting.
"Yohoo! Time to come back now, or I'm gonna ditch yeh!"
Someone doesn't seem to care for companionship....Wonder why she agreed to let us help her.
Storing her food in her bag, she kept out an apple, which she proceeded to munch on as she made her way back to Evrona. She found her after a couple minutes of searching.
