BONJOURNO

It is I, Goddess Opal
Why am I a Goddess now? Uh, because I am dead.... yes. Trust me, It makes sense.

It has come to my attention by an anonymous tip that new members here have been, well, 'n00bish'. And I just hope that people will realize they are acting like this and everyone can eventual hold hands and sing songs and frolic in fields....

Because Goddess Opal commends it.

And now I shall die for another 6 or 8 months.

I can only hope shes not talking about me >.> and I do get the whole 'dead for 6-8 months thing' just hope shes not talking about me about the 'n00bish' thing >.> if so, then I'll probably leave for a few days to let my post count frequency and posts per day go down.....

Good to see you posting again Celebifly, even if it is only one for another couple seasons ;-)

Saw a documentary by the same guy who did Super Size Me, it's called Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden and it was really good! I definitely recommend watching it, it needed subtitles but I still enjoyed it :-)

Hey.

Installed Windows 7 on this laptop today. It's certainly shinier than Vista was (Which is surprising considering how shiny it was). But more importantly, it seems stabler and smoother than it which is a definite plus.

Hi! Nice of you stop in, Opal. Hope you're doing well!

Actually, my system was a lot more stable running Vista than 7... Anyway, there's a lot of changes between Vista and 7 and if you really want to know you should probably read a full review from PC Magazine, CNet, or some other big technology site. But here's a few things: it's a bit flashier (gadgets can go anywhere on the desktop, some nifty new theme options, more visual effects when you play with windows, etc, redesigned taskbar (and no option to switch back to the "classic" version), a little bit leaner and faster in most cases, better network support, better external device support, the newest versions of IE, Media Player, Direct X, and the like (though you can download all those for Vista too), improved security features, new file organization options, etc, etc, etc.

Personally, I like 7 well enough and would definately get it on a new computer, but if I wouldn't pay for an upgrade. And, even though I got my copy for free (and legally), I'm not sure that it was worth all the trouble I had upgrading to it (which I posted about a while back), not to mention the cost of the new programs I had to buy to replace some old ones which weren't compatable.

Hey.

MICCA finals was today. Our final band competition of the year. We went in as the highest ranking band in Division I. Yes. We are awesome.

Visual - 5 Stars
Music - 3 Stars
Percussion - 3 Stars
Color Guard - 5 Stars
General Effect - 5 Stars

OVERALL - 4 Stars--A siiiiiilver medal!

YAAY! 4 stars!!!!!! That is great for Division I. And... 5 STARS on visual! That hasn't happened in the past 9 years my band director has been at my high school. 5 on general effect is also a first. Perucssion... understandable, we don't havea drum line and we're competing against bands that do... and also only 5 kids in pit. Music... ehh, we should have gotten 4. Our director even said, the two music judges--one said 4 one said 3, and apparently they round down :-/ . But.... not many 5 star rankings were given out today, and we got 3 of them! More than any other band in Div I or Div II can say! Our show really is great this year... the audience went crazy at the end. It was great.

Oh, and UMASS Amherst... they are FLIPPIN' AMAZING! I'd forgotten how awesome their band is.... Well, this year they did a Pirates of the Carribean show.... and it was INCREDIBLE! Color guard looked like pirates, they had people playing Will Turner, Elizabeth Swan, Cpt. Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones running around, and there were some AWESOME fights. At the end, Cpt. Jack Sparrow went and pushed the drum major off the podium and conducted the very end :P . The show... it was just amaaaazing!

Err... I bet the pen died. If it's like the tablet I'm using now, it charges by being in the little spot on the computer that holds it. The charging mechanism may be broken most likely in the pen but possibly on your computer, or the pen itself. It could also be the sensor in the screen, but I'm pretty sure that's a bit more rare. The pen is around $40 I think for mine, so it's not too bad.

Yeah, they did change up the taskbar a bit, but it's still functional.

Also, my Vista crashed 4 times in the same day, a record among my OSes. And 7 RC hasn't crashed full out yet; I haven't yet switched to the full version as I haven't had time. A couple programs have crashed on it though, but more of my programs are compatible with the RC than Vista. For instance, I still can't figure out why Vista rejects my Vista compatible Daemon Tools Lite.

Anywho, it's your choice. I still use XP on my second laptop because it is the most reliable system I've used extensively. With 95 a close second, but I haven't used that in years and only for games really, so my data may be a bit skewed. I'm actually quintbooting on my new laptop with those 4 and Ubuntu. Yes, I am that much of a CS nerd.
Hmm... This signature just got really short...

hmm... then how do I fix that? I have a 500GB External disk drive, and the original system disks, should I back up my entire computer on the D-Drive then use the disks, then restore all the data to my laptop? would that fix it, or should I try to take the pen apart and see if i can fix it like that??? I really wanna fix my laptop.

I use XP because it doesn't take up the RAM that Vista does, it's usually pretty reliable (only a few crashes to date), and I like how it looks.

So my roommate got dumped today by his gf of two weeks-ish, I feel bad for him :-/ Hopefully he'll be alright.

Hey! I've been reading every single post in the Survivor threads, it seems pretty deep, then got bored and looked at silvers (and other peoples) siggy sites, noticed the 'Grammar Lessons' tab and decided to click it in humor, then I read the last one a bit confused:
WHO is subjective case, WHOM is objective case!
Example: On whom are you using that mace, and who is going to sue us later?

I learned WHOM is the accusative case, not the objective case.

Correct me if I'm wrong >.> anyways, back to reading Survivor... Prepare for something.... BIG... THIS.... NEW.... YEAR!!! coming this January.....

So my roommate who got dumped also sprained his ankle today falling down some stairs. This is not his day :drop:

I just came back from dinner at an Irish restaurant and they had "Pachos," which are like nachos but they're made of sliced potatoes. They sound weird, but WOW are they delicious!
