Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi! Sukkot starts tonight. I'd be a bit more excited about it if I actually had some place to build a sukkah, but I live in an apartment so that doesn't really work. There is a sort of Sukkot starting celebration tonight though, I'm making the apetizers (a sort of Morrocan filo cigars stuffed with lamb). Speaking of which, I need to hit up the grocery store. I'll be back after the celebration to make a bunch of RP posts and the like.
Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Well, the bidding cities were Chicago, Rio de Janeiro, Madrid, and Tokyo. I say were because Rio de Janeiro got the bid and will host the 2016 Olympics. I really wanted Chicago to get it because 1) I've been there before and it's a great city, 2) it was the only city I could go to readily when the olympics come, and 3) Chicago has a great record with hosting big events. Still, congrats to Rio de Janeiro for being the first South American city to ever host the Olympics.

In a way it could be good that Chicago's not getting the Olympics. My place really isn't all that far from where some of the Games will be played in Vancouver and the traffic is gonna be a nightmare
So much for parking on the street...
On another note, my entire world has been flipped on it's head and given an atomic wedgie. Ever since I was 2 and had a disastrous encounter with a chocolate birthday cake I've been off milk and having soy instead. But over the last few years my stomach's been somewhat constantly sore. I don't know if I mentioned it on here or not, but my doctor tried taking me off of gluten (wheat) to see if that'd help since it's one of the more common allergies. While I did feel slightly better, it definitely wasn't the problem. So my doc took a couple blood samples and had them tested a couple weeks ago. I just got an email from my doc with all the info on it and I'm still somewhat in shock. My allergies? I have high allergies to oyster and...*drumroll* soybean
I guess this means I have to get used to cow milk now.

Konnichiwa.
I'm rather glad Tokyo isn't hosting the Olympics; it's crowded enough there already. Probably more so than Beijing, since China's huge and Japan isn't. oo'
And wow, Nab, that's really lame. Makes me glad I haven't turned up with any allergies yet... I did get a sort of skin allergic reaction from something in Taiwan, which made me break out with itchy spots all over my back and lower torso (that wasn't fun), but it went away after a few days back in the States. And I don't know what it was I was allergic to, but it's never happened before and so I assume I don't run across it that frequently, and therefore it's not a problem.

It's gonna be bad in Calgary. And we're a 10 hour drive from Vancouver. Olympics are madness. Astral moved to BC, right?NabMaster wrote:In a way it could be good that Chicago's not getting the Olympics. Hey.
Our town won the football game, 30-something (I FORGET OKAY?!) to 6. We rocked the halftime show. Whoo :D
My throat hurts, though. Shouted myself hoarse. It's worth it, though. Lotsa fun there in the marching band of awesomeness.
Not much to say other than that. School... is school-like as usual. Nothing exciting in my life.

*Kicks down door*
Hi everybody! I'm back after what seemed like an eternity of boredom and nothingness. Oh and I'm finally registered to take the GED test in a few weeks, so everybody wish me luck.

Hi! Good luck, Atma!
So, I believe I mentioned tonight's sukkot party and that I was making the apetizers. Well, my brother and his friend were also planning on going and were supposed to bring food as well...then I got a call shortly after posting this morning and found out that they weren't going (my brother's got a cold and something came up with the friend). That meant that they wouldn't be making any food for it either, which was a problem sine they had the main course and dessert. So I had to run out, buy even more food, and throw together a main course (Japanese curry and rice) and a dessert (mochi with azuki paste) on top of what I was already making (those Morrocan lamb filled filo cigars). It all turned out great, but made for a very long day.

Hey!
After me and abunch of friends watched the football game yesterday, we were actually REALLY PISSED... We all saw the ball fly through the goal, and we were sure it was GOOD. But as always, the referee was being a douchebag and he called it NO GOOD. I mean, COME ON!! Even some of the players on the other team admitted it was GOOD. Oh well... GAWSH...

Yeah, allergies suck. But at least now I know to stop drinking soy milk like water
And yeah, Astral's somewhere in BC now.

Hi! Helpful hint, you can get at least temporarily allergic to nearly any food if you eat it too often. For instance, I'll often get temporarily allergic to dairy if it eat it too many days in a row without a break. My dad treats a lot of people with all types of food allergies, so I know quite a bit on the subject.

Hey!
I didn't feel like going to homecoming today so I'll just go next year. So anyway I'll spend the last few hours of my Saturday chatting with my friends and playing ping pong with my family. Tommorow I'll be gone 4 hours for church stuff, and since all we do is listen to adults talking, it's gonna be quite boring but worth my time.

Hey.
First marching band competition today, though it doesn't count 'cos it's just exhebition, or however it's spelled. I'm pretty sure I botched that pretty bad...
Anywho, not only do I have that, but beforehand I have to play trumpet at church, then bolt to marching band practice, then the competition, then girl scouts, and then SPY, then I get home around 8:30. FUN DAY.
Man, this has just been one of those crazy busy stressful weekends for me. It hasn't been very fun...

Hi. Well, it looks like that for the competition we had yesterday, we either faced tougher bands, or the judges were biased. I mean, I saw plenty of bands who were out of step, not rolling their toes, and just plane out of tune, and they got more awards then our band. Well, the good news is that we did better than last week and we have a break this week.
