ROM 3: Shadows of Souls

((Hey pokchu, cut back on the language ok?))

"Josiah!" *Virgo sped reached Wind Supreme.* "Strength of Heart! Maiden's Healing! Heavenly Spear!" *She tried to strengthed Josiah while attacking the shadow but it was a losing battle.* "No!!! I can't fail! I have to save him! I will save him! I just need more strength!!!" *Suddenly Virgo began to glow.*

"What's going on?!?"

"I don't believe it! She's advancing to Nova level!"

*When the light faded Virgo's armor had been replaced by flowing golden clothes, her hair reached down to the middle of her back, and her spear was both longer and more ornate.* "Righteous Fury!!!" *She struck, vaporizing the shadow creature and knocking Manja out of the air. Severly weakened, Josiah automatically unmerged. Virgo caught him in the air.* "Healing Touch." *A soft glow surrounded Josiah as his eyes opened.*

"Virgo... When that shadow was attacking me I could sense what you were doing and..."

"Don't speak." *She whispered.* "I know." *She leaned forward and kissed him.*

"This is great and all but we should get out of here before Manja recovers."

"Right. There should be a shrine for this area. If we find purify the area Manja should return to normal."

Shauni looked back as the dragon began to regain his stance
"We have to hurry! We need to get to a shrine!"
"but the closest purifed one is back towards him!" yelled jeff as he pointed at manja

"Then we have no chose, we have to eather finish him of now, or get to the next shrine and probly face him and the guardian at the same time, knowing our look..."

They all looked to Josiah
"Josiah! We need to decided what to do! Stay or go!"

Josiah looked over to shauni, who was staring at him, her eyes darting from him to the dragon and back agin franticaly
he concidered his answer....

"You guys find the next dark shrine and purify this area. I'll hold off Manja." *Josiah was looking grum 

"On your own?!? Fudge crackers! That's suicide!"

"He's right. There's got to be a better way to..."

"Don't worry about me! I'll be fine just hurry and go!"

"But..."

"Shauni, Silver, Neo, David, let's go."

"But Josiah!"

"Jeff's right." *David didn't seem to enjoy siding with Jeff.* "If Josiah says he'll hold Manja off we have to trust him. Let's hurry and find the next shrine."

"Good luck." *Shauni looked back at Josiah and Virgo.*

"You too." *Josiah watched the others fly away.* "Virgo, are you ready?"

"Yes. Let's do it."

*Josiah held up all his cards.* "Everyone, combine your powers and merge with me to form...Ultima Rainbow!" *With a roar, Manja launched itself back into the air. Ultima Rainbow grinned.* "Looks like it's play time."

As the others flew away towards the nearest dark shrine shauni's eyes began to well with tears

"This isnt right...."
She looked back one more time to see Josiah and Virgo nealy able to hold the dragon back, she left overwelling guilt
"josiah......virgo....."
They hurred away,
Shauni, almost as if saying goodbye remaind fix on the two until they were but speacks on the horizen......

((Just for reference, I merged with Virgo as well. It takes all my monsters to make Ultima Rainbow.))

"I hope they hurry." *Ultima Rainbow dodged back and forth through the air firing off attacks of every element. In the end, no particular type seemed to do more damage than the others so he just switched randomly depending on what seemed easier to hit with. He was taking some damage but nothing that his defensive and healing moves couldn't deal with. He always had his Armor Sacrifice move if things got desperate but if it failed he'd be left defenseless so it wasn't worth the risk. Still, he did have some other power moves...* "Planet Crush!!!"

They speeded there haste, shauni casting one last support spell on Josiah before they were to far

Shauni quickly pulled Jeffs arm after finishing her spell

"No wait! theres a shrine just outside the palace, about a mile east! Thats the better option!" ^_^

Jeff tured to her and noded "I dont care were we go as long as were quick, even Josiah in that for doesnt stand a cat in hells chance!"

The flcok quickly changed direction and headed east

As they were flying Neo was looking at one of his cards. It had changed from Storm Furry to question markes for the whole thing. Neo didn't know what would become of the monster. He hoped that that 5% would be on his side. He was also worried about Josiah as he was taking on Manja by himself. Neo wanted to turn around and help him but he may be needed at the shire.

((Hmm... Didn't we have to cross over the mountains before we reached the palace in ROM 1? If so it's further away than we think... Maybe I should try to draw a quick map of Orca some time... Either way, think you guys could get a move on with that shrine? I'm just keeping Manja busy so I'm basically stuck until you purify the area.))

After about 10 mins of flight they reached the dark shrine, they quickly began to stumble around for a secrest switch but found nothing
"Ah! We dont him time for this! Balance, 'Blank Anaconda', now"
The huge monster struck random areas of the shrine with its tail until it collapsed a wall that was the serest door
Everyone pilled in, inside the cave was lined with spikes
"Ok, we dont have time to waste....lets head straight down and face this ....thing"
He was interrupted by a blob of something white and sticky falling onto his shoulder
Everyone looked up
There was a huge creature above the heads....it looked like a vulture, but it hand a horses head, and tail, the substance had come from a a spider like silk sack on its arms
"Well...at least we dont have to waste time looking for him"
It screeched and landed on the floor, extending is wings to relieve knives instead of feathers
"O crap...."

Neo fumbled for his cards. Then he noticed one of them wasn't the same. It had been the card to Storm Furry. But there was now a picture and words. But it didn't say Storm Furry. It said Perfect Storm: Nova Class. It also had afew new attacks. "Well, guess I got lucky.", Neo said with a grin. "Go Perfect Storm!" The monster looked similar to it's 3rd form but much bigger and now wind could be felt comming from it. "Impressive."

Shauni began to poke neo with rigorus urgency
"Look at it later! just attack!"
Shauni had balance use blank anaconda again, with Pyrococo using Hail to Redwall, and Omegan brining up the rear with Tridents Spear
the first two attacks struck with full force, but as the 3rd came the monster emerged from the cloud of depy of the first and flew unsaved threw it
It drew its dagger wings out and lanched them like missles at the monsters, Omegan was Ko'd after three struck in in succession, Pyrococo was lucky and doged them all, Balance destryed the ones heading for it using Twin Scissors Crush
Shauni began to use support magic such as shell and haste, she then powered up a Snake Bite attack and lanched it herself, but it wasnt as powerful as it was when she was Unicoco
Jeff followed behind her with Beats King, Silver and Neo ordering attacks also, David stricking last with his attacks
The creature fell to the floor but quickly got up again and was back in the air
"Wait....there must be a key to this like the others....maybe the spikes!"

"Well as we try and get them to the spikes, I'll add abit more protection. Go PF Egg!" The egg that Drop had become came out. But this time it was bigger then before. This day was just getting werid from him. "Use Barrior!" Soon a protective shield was around the group. "Now that we have some cover lets find a way to get them to the spikes."
