Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi! Helpful tip (particularily for Kaida), you can clean most desktop keyboards in the following way.
1. Unplug the keyboard from everything.
2. Let it sit for a few minutes.
3. Take it in the shower and hold it under the shower head for a while to let the water get under the keys (don't use soap).
4. Set it somewhere to dry and give it plenty of time to do so.
5. Plug it back in and give it a try (be absolutely certain it's dried out first).
NEVER do the above with a laptop keyboard since that would involve getting the entire laptop wet, which is a very very bad idea. It could also potentially destory some really fancy keyboards (depending on what kinda fancy extra stuff they have in them) but you can usually clean a standard desktop keyboard that way.
So, I've got to start working on a lit review today. I haven't actually read everything in my bibliography, but it's got 35 sources (which I may have mentioned having to find) and there's no way I'm reading all that stuff just to write an 8 page lit review. I more or less know what I want to say anyway so I think it'll mostly boil down to scanning stuff and looking for good lines I can cite.

What a coincidence, we were just talking about that in a discussion in History. Schools that got off for the first day of hunting season was an example our teacher used. We didn't have off for Monday, but that's because almost no one around here hunts.Gardialvoir wrote:I got two days off. apparently, monday was the start of hunting season and my school system is full of rednecks!
Another little tidbit I learned was that Iceland went bankrupt. How does an entire country go bankrupt!?

I had monday off, but they called it a "reading break" for the university. And when did Iceland go bankrupt? That sounds really weird...Also, welcome back Atma!Siranae wrote:What a coincidence, we were just talking about that in a discussion in History. Hey.
My computer is now virus free!
It's a bit slower, however, but I can deal.
Not much homework tonight, but I have to study for an annoying vocabulary quiz tomorrow. Bleh.

My laptop slowed down a lot when I zapped my Virus too (although it wasn't as slow as when it HAD the virus).. but then the battery died so I have to buy a new one >.< At least you still have your computer!
Oh, and I'm not buying a new Battery.. with the track record of my Laptop and it's problems.. it will be much cheaper inthe long run to buy a whole new damned laptop!
And how does a country go bankrupt? But I guess it's not as bad as being OVER TEN TRILLION DOLLARS (not sure of the number there, but I know it's trillions od Dollars) in debt! I'd like to know how the freck that happened..
I can't even IMAGINE a trillion Dollars.. Heck, it's hard for me to imagine over a few thousand dollars...
But Iceland goes Bankrupt? What does this mean for the rest of the world?

Hmm can't believe I forgot to post, but I got 5 out of 39 on my last physics test. By far the worst I've done in my entire life. My mark in the class is somewhere in the 20-30% range, making it the first class I'm almost guaranteed to fail in.

Aw. I'm sorry to hear that.
Hey.
I think my computer still has some sort of virus. I was on gmail when it randomly disconnected from the internet, and an ad popped up. It makes me sad.
Bah. Had a math test yesterday, which I didn't finish in time. The one I was stuck on was worth the most points (8 out of 63). With about 6 minutes to go in the test I realized how to do it (not that she ever taught us in class), but unfortuanatly that's not enough time to complete the problem. I tried my best to scribble down some work for partial credit, but I'm really nervous.

Ah, Saber my dear... it's possible that you have one of THOSE viruses. They pretend to be gone, but really hide in other programs (Like volume control? WTF??)
Tell me; was the ad that popped up a fake alert saying click this antivirus thing to get rid of the virus? That's the one I had... That's the one I had to reformat my hard drive for.
Zagan had a similar one to what I had, but got rid of it with a superspecialawesome... thing... that got rid of it... What was it again? Um... Zagan? Help?

Had a really bad day yesterday. Dentist = bad.
But I got some Term 1 marks from school!
Math: 90%
Science: 82%
Health (bleh): 85%
Gym (volleyball + floor hockey): 82%
Which is good so far. English is going to pull my average way down though.

Really? The dentist isn't that bad. Sure there's a lot of scraping plaque off your teeth with a metal hook, but the strawberry-flavoured fluoride leaves a delicious aftertaste in your mouth. (I should know: I went on Tuesday.)
Blarg, I haven't been on as much because of a combination of Resistance 2, Trying (and failing) to get my Blood Elf mage to 70 before WoW: WotLK came out, and large projects in Religon and History. At the same time. And due the same day. So, I've been busy.
In other news, our school had a cake auction today to suppourt the basketball team. Pretty much the backetball team and their families made a bunch of cakes, and classrooms brought in money to buy cakes in an auction, with all the profits going to the suppourt the team. Our classroom managed to buy two cakes (a chocolate one and a plain one with icing) with just seven dollars. T'was awesome. (and the cakes were yummy too... = P)

Saber, download these two programs: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php and http://www.download.com/SUPERAntiSpywar ... 23889.html
Scan with the malware one first, then use SuperAntiSpyware, it should get everything that could be infecting your computer.

Hi! Had a big Japanese test today, but I think I did pretty well. However, I still have a quiz to take and two statistics assignments to do, and another class... I'm really not fond of Thursdays this semster. Right now though, I'm off to get sushi.
Saber, if you've got ads popping up, that's technically Adware, not a virus. Since your virus program didn't get rid of it, I'd recomend downloading Spybot Search and Destroy and/or Microsoft Anti-Spyware (you can find them with Google). Then download the latest updates, run a scan, and see what turns up.

Social/history: 87%
Computer Design: 96%

I'm about to log in to post here and bam, the power goes out.
It was out for a little bit, but it came back on...just to go off again. But as you can see it's back now. But I don't know for how long. My sister is upset though because the TV isn't working.
Oh man, if it goes out for good next time, I won't be able to do my homework. All my textbooks are in my locker, because I was going to use the virtual ones on the websites. I've got to hurry then. Why am I still typing?

I'd REALLY like to, but I'm afraid my dad will kill me for installing things off of random webistes.Zagan wrote:Saber, download these two programs: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php and http://www.download.com/SUPERAntiSpywar ... 23889.html

Geh. Computer=stupid. It randomly stops responding to when I type, and random ads keep appearing, plenty of which are "anti-virus" crap. I don't trust them. Not to mention everything runs sloooooow...
