All my teachers always complain about my handwriting. Not that it's bad - it's actually pretty good, but I write VERY small and it really ticks off my teachers.

Also, I had no problem reading that ;-)

I was only unable to figure out the word between "the" and "but". either way you should see Zoras's handwriting. I need a decoder ring to decipher most of the things he writes.
This is my RP Forum, Tales of Symphonia Adventures, or ToSA for short. Please take a look?

Heso! I guess that's the reason we're all ehre, then... typing comes much more naturally than writing. My handwriting's terrible, too. I'd like to think it improved a bit last year, though, thanks to AP English; when you have "Timed Writings" every week and constantly lose points for penmanship... eventually you just start writing a little neater. It still isn't pretty, but at least I can distinguish my own w's from r's now.

I'd like to think I can draw all right, though. If I take my time anyway... Whenever I'm just scribbling during class - which happens a lot - the end result is an attrocity. But if I've got time, focus, and am drawing in an anime-typed style, I can hold my own.

And writing... if I'm gonna be in AP English, I darn-well better be able to write. Although, when it comes to academic writing... I, uh... I'm frequently told to "watch" my "tone" and "remove" my "funny". I can't help it! How can you write a serious essay about The Grapes of Wrath or The Catcher in the Rye? What with John Steinbeck going on for an entire chapter about a turtle and J.D. Salinger going on for an entire book about a whiny emokid... taking these things seriously is just not possible.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

I took that sentence to mean that his handwriting is just as bad as if he did lose all his fingers in a tragic accident, but I could be wrong. I do hope I'm not.
Konbanwa. My handwriting's pretty nasty too. My r's and v's look the same most of the time, and some c's start looking like u's if I'm writing fast. It's gotten better since ninth grade though, but not by too much. Either that, or I've simply slowed down; my ninth grade history notebook is completely illegible because I was writing everything in a frantic scrawl to keep up with my teacher's way-too-fast dictation.
My AP Literature teacher told my parents I'm a very good writer, but it's only if I know what I'm writing about and actually put some effort in it. When I'm forced to turn in something on a topic I'm totally lost on, you can tell I'm not working too hard on it. As for scribbles during class, I tend to just think of a pose and start on a drawing (usually of a roleplay character) in one class and continue adding details to it during other classes or at home until it's finished. So I don't really doodle in the traditional sense of the word. If I'm just drawing some random sketchy thing on some corner of a worksheet to forget about later, I end up drawing heads, eyes, or hands.
Maybe it's this self-imposed method of planning out all my drawings that made me get a C+ on my sad little attempt at surrealist art this last week... :x

Hi! The nice thing about art and writing is that, with enough effort, anyone can learn to do them well. If you want to be a good artist/writer and study and practice, you'll steadily improve. Once you're "good", what really sets people apart is imagination and creativity (which aren't so learnable), they're what makes good writers/artists great.

When I right in print it's easily readable. Not always extremely neat, but it's decent. I can write pretty good in cursive too though, aside from signing my name, I don't do it very often so I'm a bit out of practice on a lot of letters.

Everyone tells me i have neat writing, but thats only when i take time to write properly. It become an unreadeble mess when i have to write quickly.

Hey.
My handwriting looks a lot worse when I'm taking notes. THe words are smaller, and eveything just goes downhillf from there. :P

Ug...the football game was an hour away. It also started late, because the officials got lost in the immense fog. Not to mention the truck took forever to get back home, and we had to wait and unload it.
End result was me getting home at 12:00. Not fun.
Also, before the game my friend (our only trombonist) was doing something stupid and fell hard and hit his head. We were practicing before we left for the game (and my friend hadn't showed up yet), and we saw an ambulence pull in and head for the band room. His girlfriend got worried, I asked why, and she said it had been that he hit his head, and the ambulence was probably for him.
I'm not sure what happened after that, too many rumors to say. Not sure which one is right. Some say minor concussion and he's at the hospital staying the night, some say the medics said he was going to be okay, but that he needed to rest so he was sent home. I hope he's okay, all the same.
May the Triforce be with you.

Hmm. Quite a few things have happened while I was gone.

Terra, I am very sorry you lost you grandmother. I barely remember mine.

Also, I wouldn't worry about having sucky hand writting, Saber. Mines bad and there is this girl I know who's even worse.

And for me, when it comes to essays and the like, It takes a very long time for me to write them. I like to make my thoughts as short as possible, not long and drawn out. However, when it comes to fiction, you can count on me to provide great detail and length, though I tend to notice stuff after I've written them rather then while I'm writing. But, I can't draw. At all. Nope, not even a straght line, or a stick figure.

Oh, and speaking of fiction, I've finaly got my gothic story in all it's belated Halloweenieness! Be on the look out for it, ok? It'll take some time to type it up and send it to silver so he Grammar Nazi it.

Jeeze. I just noticed how many errors were in my story. Man, I wish I sent this to Silver before I turned my story in. I really need to make a habbit out of re-reading my stories and essays before I turn them in, because I have a lot of words missing and incompleted words.

Grapes of Wrath, Catcher in the Rye, The Crucible, The Scarlet Letter...wait. Those are all required reading in my school too. Wow, teachers these days aren't that creative.

One year my sister's friends had to make a movie of Catcher in the Rye. My brother was in it, though not emo he's 10 times crazier. He kept making up the lines and doing random stuff. He turned a depressing book into a hilarious comdedy.
I've got to get her to load the video on youtube.

Heso! You said you live in New Jersey, right, Siranae? I think it's a state thing. Because Miss Hults said, if the school didn't require it, she wouldn't force The Catcher in the Rye on anyone. And that she probably wouldn't once she had tenure. Which is... this year. Well, we'll see.

Hi! Useful tips:
1. Always reread a story, paper, etc, at least once before turning it in.
2. If you can, wait a day or two and then reread it again. I can be a bit easier to spot errors when you've forgotten how everything is supposed to go (otherwise you mind has a nasty habit of mentally replacing typos with the correct words since it knows what you were trying to say).
3. If you still have trouble, trying reading the thing out loud.
