Round 3: Super Happy Fun Fun Land

[Astral Omega]

"Well, the idea is that we split up to search." Cassi said in hushed tones so that the others around them wouldn't hear.

"We help each of our respective teams by taking out the members of the other team, but we also help each other by protecting each other... you know? Basically the plan is to be the last two standing when the game ends... and if the Portal is in there... then we have more chance of finding it with free access to our own areas."

MICKEY

A screen on the wall lit up with the replay of the race. Mickey had actually been in the lead for a little while (the fall off the waterfall saved a lot of time) but Zack was extremely fast and athletic and had taken back the lead fairly easily. Down the hallway, Mickey could see the suvineer shop from before.


KAIDA & CASSI

Kaida and Cassi reached the front of the line and stepped though a weird glowly barrier. As they came out the other side, the discs they had been given had vanished but both girls now had a faint glow around them (Kaida was red, Cassi was green). An attendent inside the room, ushered Kaida towards a red portal and Cassi towards a green one. As the girls stepped through their surroundings vanished. They found themselves in different, but similiar looking domed rooms. There was a big pillar in the center of each and four hallways (North, South, East, and West) leading off from the chamber. Several players from each girl's team (red where Kaida is, green where Astral is) were passing through.

Mickey couldn't help but snicker at her performance. She then glanced over to the suvinee shop. "Wonder if he's over there," she mumbled to herself. With a shrug, she decided to walk over and check it out.

[Astral Omega]

Cassi walked around the pillar in the middle, looking down each of the hallways.

[Josiah]

MICKEY

Zack and his friend were over by the suvineer video counter, watching the video of the race.



CASSI

All the hallways curved, so she couldn't see very far down. From what she could see, they all looked pretty much the same.

[Saber Knight]

Mickey decided to walk over nonchalantly, not saying anything. Just as she got behind them, she jumped up, shouting "BOO!", because she's just that mature.

[Astral Omega]

Cassi closed her eyes, spun around a little and headed down the hallway straigt in front of her.

MICKEY

The girl jumped slightly, Zack just turned around and rolled his eyes. "Not bad on the course for a novice, but you still didn't stand a chance against me. So now you have to share any clues you find with us."



CASSI

Cassi walked into the wall, as there wasn't a hallway straight in front of her. Backing up, she went in the nearest hall. After a few curves and branching paths, it lead outside (or whatever passed for outside in Laser Land). Cassi found herself on a small ledge about five feet off the ground behind a building of some sort. She could just manage to see around the corner, where people were running, shooting, and going in and out of a small collection of buildings.

[Saber Knight]

Mickey shrugged. "Fair enough. I really haven't found anything as of yet. Or, at least, I don't think so. Kinda new to this..." Just to show she was being honest, Miceky game a small recountment. "We got to that place, y'know the one with the name, then we went that-a-way and saw that cool Sphere thing, then I was flying then we went on the mine cart ride, you remember that don't you?" Without waiting for an answer, Mickey just continued, "Then we had that fun near-death experience there, then I talked to you and we talked about Portal Panic and then your buddies came around and really freaked me out, then I decided to come to slime world cuz you mentioned it and it sounded fun, and then I went on the obstacle course, then ran into you, then went on the really hard one, and now I'm here!" Mickey just stood there, grinning.

Cassi has seen enough sci-fi shows where people are shooting to know exactly what to do.

She used the corner as a sheild and peeked around it, looking for the colours of the players. She aimed her laser gun carefully, waiting for a red person to come into her sights...

[Josiah]

MICKEY

"Ok..." Zack eyed her. "But you've got to tell us if you do find anything. Well, I'm going to go get my prize for winning an expert race." he took his partner's hand and dragged her towards the other end of the shop.


CASSI

Aside from the red and green, Cassi noticed a bunch of players without any aura. They had guns too, but couldn't seem to shoot the red or green guys, just each other. She assumed they were the ones who had opted out of the big game. Anyway, it wasn't long before she shot a red player who was hoping around on one leg. He cursed as his aura dimmed, looked around, sighed, and ran off to the north, presumably heading towards one of his team's recharge stations.

[Saber Knight]

"Hrm. Well, now what?" Mickey couldn't help but think out loud. "Where's the way out of here....?"

[Astral Omega]

She decided to stay, shooting a few more red players as she looked aorund for any more clues from her spot on top of the ledge.

[Josiah]

MICKEY

There was an exit on the opposite side of the suvineer shop, past the counter that Zack and his friend had gone to.


CASSI

Cassi managed to shoot one more red player but she didn't spot anything of interest.

Mickey decided to head for the exit, but she felt she couldn't leave without a quick goodbye. She turned to Zack and his frineds. "Well, nice talking with you guys, but I guess I'm off. Places to go. Things to do. Clues to find. Worlds to destroy...all that fun stuff."
