Josiah wrote:Hi! So wait...they're actually going to censor anime more and maybe cut some shows because a kid got killed trying to imitate something he saw on TV? What the heck is the point there? I mean, sure it's too bad the kid died but it's just one kid and why single out Naruto or anime in general? I mean, nearly every show in CN's line up has events that kids could get seriously hurt or worse trying to imitate. I mean, if we're going to go that far to protect kids we'd kinda have to get rid of most TV programs, movies, games, books, comics, and toys in existence.
Nya!

Been watching a lot of Naruto recently ironicaly! Found a website that hosts all the English episodes for free. No downloading involved. If anyone wants a link, PM me. It’s also been a Jetix at 8.30 at the moment. If they take it of I'll be really mad. At least we still have the internet for anime. I personaly thing wester cartoons are more violent and stupied than anime, They drop safes and houses on each other in our cartoons, but there still on the air!

It's discrimination!

Anime joke time!

How many Super Saiyans do you need to change a lightbulb?

One, but it takes four episodes.

Bwhaha. Naruto seems to be like that, took a whole ep just for a bloody match to start in the exams.

Heso! No, it doesn't make any sense, but that's how it works. Or rather, that's how Cartoon Network works because they're insanely paranoid, and they're the ones showing Naruto. You'd think they're going broke, the way they try to stay so strict to FCC regulations and not offend even one parent... like losing one viewer would put them out of business. Now, people have been cautious of anime since the days of Pokemon, when kids would beat each other up on the playground over Pokemon cards (I remember in my school they were banned, so people traded them like drugs in the bathroom XD). Now some idiot has actually DIED because of an anime. So what's going to happen? People are going to stop watching it, because it's 'evil', according to the media. CN doesn't want to loose their viewers. So they're going to make promises that it's good now, everything's better, no one will kill themselves because of Gaara again because they're cleaning up his dirty, sandy act. And then they're going to censor the living daylights out of anything that looks at all like "Na-ROO-toe" (as they so ignorantly call it).

That's just what Cartoon Network does. Outside of Adult Swim, that's what they've ALWAYS done, and what they'll ALWAYS do.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Konbanwa.

...Wow, I go missing for a week or so, come back and find some kid died by imitating Naruto. oO'
I'm sorry, that's just pathetic. I'd have expected 10-year-olds to at least realize burying someone head-first in a sandbox is an extremely stupid idea. I mean, sand isn't very...breatheable. And calling anime evil because of that isn't very fair. I mean, not all people are total idiots and bury each other headfirst into sandboxes. @.@

Hi! No Kisori, they're not gonna take Naruto off CN, too popular for that, though they might edit it more. Personally though, I wasn't a huge fan of the English dub so the editing doesn't bother me (aside from the principle of the thing), I can always just get the unedited DVDs.

On a totally unrelated note, the Star Wars RP is now accepting new members! If you're interested, read through everything so far then post your character in the OOC thread.

They did have a warning about the episode where that one guy pulled his heart out, but it didnt look edited.

It was lonely... you promised you'd write to me, but you never did... the months passed by, and I still thought of you every day, but you never called. I never got any letters from you.

So eventually, I started to lose faith... I thought you had been killed in that terrible, terrible war. Or maybe that you had forgotten about me. It's been so long, you probably found another girl over there... I never stopped loving you, but I didn't think you cared about me anymore, so welcoming you back just would have been too painful for me... I'm sorry. I'm glad you've come back home *sniff*

Here's my two cents on the issue. If a kid dies imitating something they saw on tv, it's the parent's fault for not keeping measures on what the kid watches, as well as telling them NOT to try imitating what's shown. Cartoon Network shouldn't try to not offend anybody, what they should do is warn kids beforehand that what's shown on tv shouldn't be attempted in real life. Although, attempting something stupid like that shows the kid's parents that they have poor parenting skills.

I listen to it on the bus. I carry it in my gymbag, along with a bunch of other really expensive stuff. The one day I forget to bring it with me to class, the teacher brings in students for testing. She can't see my desk or the stuff on it from her desk, so no one saw it. The kids on my bus (And all the others,) Are really wild, so I use it to block them out.
