Games I've Played Recently
Re: Games I've Played Recently
I beat Bayonetta then went back and got all the health and magic power-ups I missed. Would have liked to go through on the harder difficulties as well, but I've got a lot of games I want to finish before FFXIII comes out, so I decided that more Bayonetta would have to wait. I played through Heavenly Sword next (fun, but really short) and just started on FFCC The Crystal Bearer.
Re: Games I've Played Recently
Dissidia. Lots and lots of Dissidia. Almost ever character to 100 (working on Garland now, then Onion Knight, Exdeath, and the bonus characters), only have 5 of the exclusive 100 weapons now but working on it slowly.

Rania - Female; Type: Water, Grass; Abilities: Torrent, Overgrow; Attacks: Tackle, Curse, Razor Leaf, Bubble W/L = 5/0
Karst - Male; Type: Normal; Abilities: Keen Eye, Guts; Attacks: Tail Whip, Scratch, Defense Curl W/L = 2/0Re: Games I've Played Recently
Ugh, those weapons take forever, unless you get really lucky and some enemies drop them. I got them for my five favorite characters and then quit since I'd had enough of endless duel colliseum runs.
Re: Games I've Played Recently
I have enough stuff to make Cloud of Darkness' weapon, but I don't have enough for the weapon before it (Bizarre Staff), otherwise I'd have 6
I did that 100 challenges in the Lunar Whale achievement and I ended up getting over 40 Megalixers from it, that helped a ton (but took the better part of my day).

Since Colly wanted to know about Crystal Bearers...
It's odd. The graphics are excellent (for the Wii) and the character designs and areas are all very well done. The music is catchy, though not all that similar to earlier CC games, and the voice acting is pretty good. The story is ok so far and looks like it has potential to get pretty interesting (haven't gotten far enough to say for sure though) and I like the characters. It's the gameplay that's strange. First off, CB really isn't a RPG. There's no XP, levels, or new skills to get. The most you can do is increase your HP and get some different accessories to equip. It's also extremely linear (at least as far as I've gotten, maybe it opens up more later). It's not really an action RPG or Zelda style game either... I'd almost call it a platformer, except that the lack of a jump button kinda hampers it in that regard. Pretty much all Layle can do it run around, dodge roll, and grab things with his crystal telekinesis powers. You can't even talk to most people in towns, just grab and throw them (usually for no reason other than to be a jerk). Battles pretty much boil down to grabbing some random object, chucking it at the nearest enemy, and repeating. For variety, you can grab and throw enemies into object or other enemies instead. There is some strategy to be found as some monsters attack eachother in certain situations and others allow you to use their abilities in battle. For example, if you grab an archer goblin you can force him to fire a few arrows at other enemies or you can toss a bomb that's about to explode into a group of enemies. You're rewarded for clearing all the enemies in each area within a certain amount of time, so there's advantages to figuring out how to use them against each other...but so far said rewards seem pretty unneccessary and grabbing and throwing things gets old after a while. There's also a huge amount of mini-game type sections. They're not bad, but so far I haven't found any of them all that incredible either. Long story short, it's not a bad game and it's got a lot of nice touches but it feels like there's a lot of wasted potential. If they cut back on the mini-games, let you talk to people instead of just throw them, and made the battles and character development more action RPGish (like Kingdom Hearts) it could have been really awesome.

I reinstalled my old copy of Unreal Tournament for nostalgia's sake. Still as mindlessly fun as ever, and the soundtrack is awesome, especially on the level Deck 16.

Okay, so Ar Tonelico 2 isn't as bad as I thought it would be (gameplay wise), but god, does there have to be so much fan service and sex jokes in so many scenes?
Re: Games I've Played Recently
Got my new DS and finally finished Bowser's Inside story yesterday. I also finished Crystal Bearers Saturday night. My next goal is to get through Bioshock and the upcoming Ace Attorney game before FFXIII is released.
Re: Games I've Played Recently
Got to try a quick read with Higurashi since the edit-patch came out recently, and look how much changes were made:
http://editorashi.freewebhostx.com/stat ... editorashi
Patch could be obtained here: http://rapidshare.com/files/350098236/e ... 2348.32.7z
Drag all files into the main game directory, and it's all patched.
With this out, I might purchase Higurashi soon, once I finish Umineko that is.

Lately I've been playing Dissidia, Demon's Souls, Devil May Cry, and Dead Space. There seems to be a trend here...

Rania - Female; Type: Water, Grass; Abilities: Torrent, Overgrow; Attacks: Tackle, Curse, Razor Leaf, Bubble W/L = 5/0
Karst - Male; Type: Normal; Abilities: Keen Eye, Guts; Attacks: Tail Whip, Scratch, Defense Curl W/L = 2/0-

Played some Rock Band 2 yesterday with my friends... but I'm too busy for more video games :(
May the Triforce be with you.

Re: Games I've Played Recently
Due to fog, the airport was closed and Gamestop didn't get their shipment in, which means no Ace Attorney... They're supposed to have it tomorrow though. I'm also up to the last area in Bioshock.
