Re: Games I've Played Recently

People should post here more so I don't have to double post to revive it. Anyway...

Dissidia 012: Very nearly finished. I've completed all the story modes (including 000), gotten every character to level 100, mastered all the abilities I want for all my favorite characters. I still have to: redo a few dungeons in 000 to complete some armor sets and stock up on crafting materials, get the level 100 exclusive weapons for my favorite characters, do the labyrinth.

Pokémon Black: I'm up to the Elite 4. I was planning to beat them and do a lot on the post game stuff on my trip to Texas and Florida, but ended up getting caught up finishing 000 and KP farming in Dissidia. I really want to get back to this soon, but I'm having a hard time pulling myself away from Persona 3 FES...

Persona 3 FES: 3 months left to go in The Journey, which will hopefully be enough time to finish my S Links. Then there's still The Answer after that.

Tsukihime: I finished the main game and the stuff on the Plus Disc. Moving to Kagetsu Tohya next.

It's a fangame, but I've played a lot of this recently. It's really fun and challenging, though the last levels suck up lives.

As for official games, here's an old game I've played recently: LEGO Island for Windows '95. Old game, still so much fun to play today. Beware, you need to set it up a specific way to play on newer systems, and even then there are a few glitches (just a few).

Been playing a lot of Fire Emblem lately. That means Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, a bit of Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, some Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword and a fangame called Fire Emblem: Tactics Universe. I've also been playing around with hacking Fire Emblem, which has beeen a lot of fun, and it's fun to see my custom characters in the game. Once I've figured out more stuff (like how to properly change the maps without making the game crash.....yeeeahhh....), I hope to make my own game with my own characters, but that could be a while :P

Woo hoo! I just got done with my second playthrough of "The Passing" for Left 4 Dead 2 and I LOVE the new weapons and setting. Well worth the price, I just wish it was a bit longer. Other then that the whole thing was excellent. (Francis thought Jimmy Gibbs Jr. was a famous taco-making dog! Ha ha!)

Half-Life 2: Episode 2 is easily the best part of the series. Now if only Valve would get working on the third instalment...

Nearing the end of my first Catherine play through (hoping to finish it this afternoon), but I'll probably be replaying it a couple more times so I can get all the endings. And I've got a long way to go in Rapunzel's (the arcade game inside of Catherine) too. If I don't get sick of the puzzles (so far, I've been enjoying them for the most part), I may just go ahead and keep playing until I get a Platinum trophy.

Other than that, I've still got a bit to do in Pokémon Black and Dissidia (though I haven't been spending a whole lot of time on them lately) and I've been playing a bit of Hot Springs Story on my phone whenever I'm off somewhere and need to kill a few minutes.

Finally, I finished Kagetsu Tohya and have started on the story mode in Melty Blood. That shouldn't take too long, so I'm currently trying to decide which visual novel I should play/read next.

Managed to pause my Fallout New Vegas binge to finally finish Portal 2. Pretty fun, though still pretty short. Puzzles were a lot easier than Portal too. Also started playing Half Life 2 since I've finished Half Life and Half Life Blue Shift. Haven't finished Half Life Opposing Force though, since my computer crashed about 8 hours in and I wasn't looking forward to playing all of that again with all the levels in my mind.

Out of boredom, I picked up my Pokemon Emerald game today, restarted it, and began playing. I have no plans for playing the Generation 5 games (as most of the new features from IGN and places dissapointed me greatly) which I consider overrated. Instead, I'm replaying my Generation 3 games, the stuff I grew up with. I have to say, Generation 3 Pokemon games and before seemed much more fun than the more competitive Generation 4 and 5.

And thanks Saber, for inspiring me with your roleplay to start playing oldskool Pokemon again. :-P

Oh God, I hated gen 3 so much. This coming from someone who grew up on Gen 1 and 2 of course, but... I hated the story and character designs, none of the features they added appealed to me at all, and they removed all of the good features from Gen 2. I think gen 3 was the absolute worst Pokemon has to offer. Gen 4 pissed me off with the lack of original Pokemon (more than half are evolutions and pre-evolutions from previous generations...) but otherwise they were good games. No complaints about Gen 5 at all.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

If you think Gen 5 is so amazing, why don't you tell us all how great it is in comparison to the previous two generations? Honestly, I'd really like to know since I haven't actually played Black or White. In fact, many of the complaints by nostalgic fans increased as generations progressed, starting with Gen 3. I'd be interested to know why a Gen 5 fan like yourself loves the game so much.

Of course, I wasn't a huge fan of Gen 3 or 4. I found them decent, Gen 3 being a tad better, but couldn't compare to Gens 1 and 2. Gen 2 will always be my favorite.

I have to say the most nostalgic of the Pokémon generations for me have always been gen. 1. I played it the most and I still love playing Pokémon Yellow. (Actually, I have a Pokémon Green version around somewhere. Poorly translated, but still fun.) My second favorite of the generations would have to be gen. 2, though.

I liked gen 3 (a few of the new pokémon designs aside) and hey, I'm doing this whole comic about it and all, but I have to admit that if I were to rank all five generations of games, gen 3 would be at the bottom of the list. But you have to give it credit for the single greatest improvement ever made to the Pokémon series, running shoes.

If you're curious, gen 4 is be my current favorite though if you included remakes HeartGold/SoulSilver would make the choice a lot harder. As far gen 5... I'm not sure yet. I finished the main story but I don't feel comfortable giving it a definitive ranking until I get through more of the post game stuff (which, at the rate I'm going, may not be till Thanksgiving break).

On a completely different topic, are there any PS3 owners besides me getting Castlevania Harmony of Despair? If so, we should do some multi-player.
