Though, I gotta say, I kinda agree with Brian from 8-bit Theater's recent comments about RSS Feeds.
Brian Clevinger wrote:There’s also the RSS feed which, near as I can tell, is a thing you click if you’re too lazy to click on things. I don’t begrudge RSS, I just don’t understand the point. It strikes me as something for people who hop into their car for a drive to the grocery store only to sit there in the driveway saying, “You mean I have to turn the key?” And then they starve to death.

OR it could be some people have limited amount of downloads with their internet and every page that gets loaded hacks into that limit. Images take a bit to load so then you can just use the drop down menu to see if there are any updates and only click if there are some.
Then you don't have to waste downloads... (people like me >.< but it's not too bad.. I think the KoTF comp would have used most of the month's downloads up already XD)
And also if there's a counter or anything on the comic site then they can get an accurate number of how many people actually read the site instead of a lot of the hits simply being regulars checking to see if there are updates. *shrug* I don't know about that one. was jsut a random thought.
But as with any discussion both sides have points to consider.

Re: A PV RSS Feed, Any Interest?
It promotes laziness, Josiah, in same way calculators and computers do. It's simply a luxury, no more, no less. There's nothing we actually need it for. But, unlike calculators and computers, an RSS feed provides very little luxury. I wouldn't say go for it, even though it would be nice, because I'm not sure the pros outweigh the hassle of setting up and maintaining.
Then again, I haven't bothered getting my RSS reader set up yet for the other webcomics I read.

Oh, I'll get around to adding one eventually. But there's a lot of things I'll get around to eventually and there's no telling when I'll decide to work on one or which one it will be.

I'd sure as heck love it. I forgot this comic exist...
... For about 400 comics. Yyyeaah. A bit of a reminder would be highly useful. =V

It's not my fault if it's one of the highest, newest topics and it happens to be about something I'd been hoping for ever since I started reading. =V
Re: A PV RSS Feed, Any Interest?
It's pretty simple to add an RSS feed to a website. Seven minutes tops(that includes logging into the website editor/FTP server).
Here's a quick guide- http://webdesign.about.com/od/rss/a/link_rss_feed.htm
I love google RSS reader, it shows one update after the other from multiple sites in the order the updates were made. It also lets me make an entire page from my RSS feeds public, can be shared and put on other websites. It marks all the links you have seen as you go through them, too.
I have 162 webcomics in this one (this is a public Google RSS bundle, doesn't save your place and only shows a limited amount at a time, anyone can make these with two clicks),
http://www.google.com/reader/bundle/use ... %28F_GS%29
You can add all of them at once to your own google RSS reader by pressing the Subscribe button. The blue text right above the subscribe button will show you what RSS feeds are in the bundle. There's much more you can do with them after you add them to your own Google RSS reader.
EDIT-The generic Google RSS reader takes up more of the screen then it needs to, so I found a good Style for the firefox addon Stylish. It had good form, but it was blue. I only edited it to be green. Just paste the text in this pastebin into the stylish addon and it will make the RSS reader look cleaner. (preview http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc14 ... gleRSS.jpg )

...
edit-2 I was wondering why the last comment said November 22nd when it was November 7th. A two-year necro... my bad. I only saw the November part and thought it was a recent topic...

Re: A PV RSS Feed, Any Interest?
That might be close to a record here, two years between posts!
And a RSS feed is essentially just an XML file.
BTW, PokmonElite2000.com has a RSS feed, and people active on the forums sometimes contribute. That would be cool here, as I could use a PV feed instead of PE2K's for Pokemon news!

Re: A PV RSS Feed, Any Interest?
I wouldn't say that PV is the best source for Pokémon news. I mean, I do talk about Pokémon related things from time to time, but I don't do any sort of extensive coverage.
My general attitude on RSS is still that, since PV updates on a regular schedule, I don't see much of a need to remind people about every new update. Though I suppose I could be wrong there.

Re: A PV RSS Feed, Any Interest?
Well Josiah, I was thinking that people on the forums could write articles for a RSS feed, with Pokemon things from all over the Interwebz. It might even get more people to read the actual comics.
Re: A PV RSS Feed, Any Interest?
Interesting idea but, considering forum activity lately, I kinda of doubt much would be written.
