Men in Hats

Post by Giga-Gar »

Men in Hats is a web comic about a group of 5 or six people (the mayor is only in about five of six strips) wearing hats, talking in the desert. Aram is the evil guy in the top hat, Sam(uel) is the aggressive evangelist, Beriah is the naive one, Jeriah is the clown with low self-esteem, Jeb's the mayor, and Gamal is the guy who manages to be friends with Aram throughout everything. The art style's the same throught, but the background changes with every panel, even when the characters arn't moving. The comic has no story, save for two or three mini arcs.

this and this are my some of my favorites.

P.S. I do not condone Sam's actions, so please do not get mad at me. He gets smote by God later on.

Haha. Such a pity MIH ended.

I loved this comic, when I read it a while ago, and loved it then.

The art style is simplistic, but excellent.

The story is... Meh. But the funnies are good.

:P

9/10.

I thought it was pretty good. Nothing great. It just never really...I dunno....connected with me.
If it had some story acrcs, even small ones that lasted 6 pages or so, I'd like it a bit better.
The art is nothing special, but I really don't care about that much to be honest.
There was definatly a good share of funnies though.
This one, this one and this one are my favorites. I have to say Aram is my favorite character, looking back all of my favorite ones involve him.
May the Triforce be with you.

Not too bad of a comic. Art wasn't too bad and the chars you grew to like (or dislike). Yes afew story arcs could of been nice to have but sometimes a good comic doesn't need story arcs. Just look at some of the comics that have been around for ages who really don't have any arcs.

The art was fine although the way the guy did backgrounds was a bit odd. If you look, you'll notice that each background panel connects to make a seen. That's fine when guys are walking, but looks really weird when they're standing place.

That aside, it was a mostly amusing comic and even makes some interesting points on occasion. Some favorite strips include this one, this one, and this one.

Yeah, I noticed the thing about the backgrounds. And there were a few pages where like... they'd be walking to the left, but the background made a scene going to the right, and it was somehow confusing to look at. No complaints about the art though, it does its job.

Men in Hats is funny, but... I kind of got bored of it. I think Saber was on to something when she suggested story arcs. As it is, it's just a bunch of single-page gags that start to get repetetive since the cast is small and they always act the same. A little more story would have helped, I think.

It was amusing though, I'll give it that. I likedthis pagea lot. I was like... "Dude! That's the ultimate burn! I'm gonna have to use that sometime!" ...But I changed my mind about the 'ultimate burn' when I read this one.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.
