Everyone looked at David, Sutra passed shauni anther pease
"Shauni didnt upload u" she read "Moen did, his early experiments, he bragged about it"

"So you NOT an NCP!"

David sat down "that does explain the dreams....I guess there my memories..."

"Sutra wrote something else" she read over it and pased it to daivd "
"This is for your eyes only"

It read "Your sister is dead. I knew her, she was my best friend"

"Sister? I... have a sister? Ngh. I can't remember anything..."

*Sutra climbed up onto a table so she could reach David. She placed her hand on his forhead.*

"Wait... I remember... Anna... you're... you're dead... wait... Anna? You mean... so... Jeff killed her... But she was evil so I can't blame him... damn..."

((Ooh. I just love how that turned out.))

David stood up and headed for the inn exit "I will kill Moen, he must have made Anna evil...."

"Then, we fight together, for everyone"
"Yes, thanks guys....."

((Gee, this plot is getting worse than a soap opra <_< ))

*Soon after Sutra went up to bed.*

"So..." *Josiah was getting rather weirded out by all the sudden developments.* "What are we going to do with her?"

"Do? We should take her with us to keep her safe."

"Ahem, are you forgetting the 'Moen made me to destroy ROM' part?"

"Silver's right. If ROM is destroyed so are we. And, unlike Moen, we don't have the power to manipulate the code and return her to normal."

"Something has been bothering me. Moen was just supposed to be the final boss of ROM, just another part of the game. He shouldn't be able to do all this. How'd he get that much power?"

"I think I can answer a little of that, I heard a lot while I was at Moen's fortress. Moen was originally just a boss character but when the hellfire virus entered this game it mutated his code, making him aware of the true nature of this world and giving him limited powers over them. When you all were brought here he was just beginning to experiment with those powers. He used them to bring in the consciousness of two people who were already attached to the net somehow. He wasn't able to simply suck people in like Shauni did. The first time he did it he lost control after bringing the person into ROM and it merged with a game character. That was David. The second time he did better and experimented further by merging that person with one of the chosen. But then you left him to sit for two years instead of finishing the game like you were supposed to. He's used that time not only to grow far stronger but to hone his code manipulation powers. Powers he used to create the Zodiac Legends from code he had salvaged from the data purge."

"Gee, we really did screw things up." *Josiah muttered.* "If we had just defeated Moen like we were supposed to things would be so much better off..."

Shauni suddenly barged in "What are you suggesting!! we kill a child!"
"She isnt a child shauni! she is he REAL reason all THIS has happned!"
Shauni tured away "Shes also the reson I am alive in the first place...."
"Virgo, I think you are right, I need to master these coding maniulation to, if he has this power, then so do I"

she tured away "I am going to Sutra"
She walked upstairs to she if she was ok, the others contuied there conversation

"Maybe. But David, it's not like you to suggest killing someone. Are you sure you're ok now? I mean you're not attacking us anymore but you're still not acting quite like yourself. Care to fill us in on what happened after you left?"

"Fine, but you'll have to tell me what your group has been doing."

"Not much to say. I saved the world a few times, that's about it."

"Yeah, sure... Anyway, I'll fill you in. But let's hear about you first."

"Ok. After I left I ran into this monster named Reyphen. We fought and I got knocked out. When I woke up I was in a town called Oxmort..."

Each day's regimen was harder than the previous one. I was obsessed with gaining power. I felt weak. It got to the point where I only cared about myself and nobody else. When I finally met Reyphen again, he didn't stand a chance against me. That was about two weeks ago. Even after getting my revenge I kept training. The power I had wasn't enough. I think the pressure I put on myself warped my mind. That's why I didn't want to help you. In my mind you were weak. I was such a fool..."

"Well, it's a pretty long story but here goes. After Jeff and Shauni rejoined..." *Josiah and Silver tell David what has happened since he left.* "And now we're heading for Moen's fortress for a final showdown. But the appearance of Sutra could be a problem."

"You think she can really destroy this world?"

"Who can tell? Moen says she can but if he had that kind of power you think he'd give it to himself instead..."

"But she escaped from Moen so she herself doesn't want to destroy the world. Looks like he can't control her."

"Although we should be careful. It's possible that her being with us is exactly what Moen wants and that whole story about her being the hacker was something he told her to tell us."

*Silver groaned.* "This is getting ridiculous!"

"Either way, I don't want to kill her unless she actually attacks us. But taking her with us would pose a pretty serious risk."

"So we leave her here then?"

"Seems like the best choice for now but we'll have to convince Shauni first."

"Hmm... Hey Virgo would you?"

"Fine, I'll try." *She sighed and stood then turned to Josiah.* "But you owe me for this." *She winked then turned and headed upstairs.*

*David frowned.* "Josiah, are you and Virgo..."

*Josiah yawned loudly.* "Well, I'm gonna get some sleep. See you in the morning." *He hurried off before David and Silver had a chance to ask a question.*

*Josiah runs over, hurts Silver, then runs back upstairs.*

The next morning...

*Shauni reluctantly agreed to leave Sutra behind at the inn, with strict instructions to the innkeeper to take care of her. After saying goodbye the group headed off again. Another day or two of solid walking and they would reach the base of the mountains from where it was only a few hours of flying to Moen's fortress. Unfortunately, they were assailed by occasional waves of Perfect Golems but they were weak and fell rather easily. Everyone was tense and alert as they traveled. They knew that the final battle was coming soon. The could see the mountains looming up in the distance. They were almost there...*

And so the gamers began there treck up the namesless mountain they had dubed Crown Mountain on account of its three peacks, inside the vally of the mountains lied Moen's Keep, inpenitrable by level land, only by sky or mountain trail could they gain access

"arnt we there yet....my feet hurt..."
"Cant we just fly this part?"
"No, we need suprise or we dont stand a chance"
"Well, using all the evidence we have, of the random monster attacks on us, I would say he already knows where here...."
"we dont even know if were heading the right way!"
"well, maybe some could scout.."
"say no more! If its means getting of my feet, i'll do it! Go Pirogoth!"

The fire griffen emerged from the flames of the card and shauni quickly jumped on it and flew high into the night sky until the others could no longer see her, she flew for about 20 mins, higher and higher, still not meeting the edge of the mountain
"This is rediculas, Josiah expected us to clime this???"
She finaly reached the lip of the mountain, and viewd the vally below, but it was engoulfed by darkness, she quickly flew back and reported to the others

"You have NO idea what a treck that will be, where talking a week at least, plenty of time for Moen to crush use!"

"This is bad"
"We need to draw out Moen to us, if we treck that far, he will have the advantage of home turf, and we will be exausted......"
