The Guardian grinned as the champion once again claimed his rightful title, but the victory was bittersweet.

"Ah... Codo... You have always been a slowpoke." the Guardian sighed as he watched the Archangel project images of the tournament being held on Breezedrop Island.

"Guardian Father."

"Hullo, Mahri."

The little girl clutched the metal doll and the toy soldier in an innocent embrace, "May I watch with you?"

The Guardian smiled and patted his lap, "Of course, Mahri."

"What about the angry girl, Guardian Father?"

"The Archangel has not told me where the girl is going, Mahri." the Guardian admitted as he looked at the sacred sword, "I can only hope there is a way to help her..."

"We lost again... Oh well... I guess the lowly Comic relief can't expect to win against the hero..." Silver mumbled to himself.

"Hey, that was a great match, Silver!"

"Yeah... it was. Now if you'll excuse me, I really need to go heal my monsters... and plant some grass seed on Kojie. Setting himself on fire kinda killed it, ya know. Of course, he was getting all covered in weeds anyway. Did you see those dandellions behind his ears? Not exactly very intimidating." Silver said, a faint smile returning to his face as he headed off the battle field and to the shrine.

"You actually plant seeds on your monsters?" *Josiah asked curiously as the two of them walked to the small shrine at the edge of the arena and began healing their monsters.*

"Yeah, you should try it sometime."

"Uh thanks but I think I'll pass. Hey, I've got a couple things to take care of now that the tournament is over but I was thinking that you and I and the rest of the gang should have a little party. After all, this is the first time we've all been together since we fought Bowen."

"Yeah! That sounds awesome! PARTY!!!"

"Great! I'll set everything up. Could you let the others know? I've got a house on the other side of the island. We can all meet there in an hour."

"Ok, see you then!" *Silver finished healing his monsters and headed off to inform the others.*

Elder Codo had made is way to the VIP box and was talking to Yomikko.
It looked to him that young Opal had a question for him but he was to frantic and talking to Yomikko.

"WHAT!! YOU MEAN SHE LEFT ALREADY???"
"Yes...about 5 minuets ago...I thought she might be going to the john..."
"This is terrible! Shauni has been cursed by the Slitter death!"
"what are you talking about?"
"She carries the cursed sisters, Forged on the anvils of Hell. Metal, tempered by the burning of two souls!"
"Elder...Codo...? You speck the curse of Gen Ren and Riki Maru...tell me, those daggers were not...."
"They where Yomikko! Shauni's soul has been cast in black darkness and brilliant light! A being can not exist correct if Ying and Yang are split!"
"What does this mean??"
"Shauni has become the kindest and evilest person in Orca! The daggers curse the person to become the extremes of the persons heart!"
"But how did she get the daggers??? Aren't they sealed in the land beyond the Merry Creak?"
"There where....but she used hellfire...All manner of hell has broken lose and seeps from Merry Creak...the holy land where....where THEY are sealed."
Yomikko went white "You mean Amber and Kohaku?"
"DO NOT SAY THOSE CURSED NAMES!!"
Codo lent in forward to Yomikko
"Speck not of THOSE two. We must find Shauni and have her seal the Merry Creak again before they get out."
Codo noticed the match was over
"The tournament is over. Good. have every be charm before we search for her. We must hurry. With Gen Ren and Riki Maru...she may release THOSE two..."

((Opal. You can try your luck at asking Codo about lopa any time, but he may fob you off))

(Alright, here goes nothing -tightens up tie- Hey...since when did I own a tie? oO)

"Excuse, Elder Codo." Opal slipped the Lopa card into her hand. "I was wondering...how good are you at SoS's?" She asked him.

Elder Codo stopped and looked at Opal. "What do you mean?" He asked, not still calmed down from the talk with Yomikko.

"Well..." She raised Lopas card. "I was wondering if you could purify Lopas card." She gulped, not knowing what Elder Codo would say.

Elder Codo looked at the card. So surprised at the question, forgetting he was frantic.
"There is a way my child, but its quite dangerous. You need to find a pure hearted shrine maiden to purify it. According my research, SoS are advanced versions of Moen sprites. A shrine is not powerful enough to purify it. A shrine maiden however has far greater spiritual powers. One should be able to help you. The nearest shrine is in Onett. its run by Midori Fedora. She is a kind person with great cleansing powers. She could fix it for you"

*Meanwhile, Josiah healed his monsters then met with several of his employees. After instructing them to prepare the aforementioned party, and answering a few quick questions about the running of various things on the island, he made his escape and soon disapeared into a storage shed.*

"Virgo?" *He held up her card, using his powers to talk to her.*

"I did what you said." *The reply was almost immediate.* "I don't think anyone noticed when I slipped away after the battle."

"Good. I'm coming over." *He used his pendant to teleport to her location, appearing in a brightly lit room that was filled with books, equipment, papers, and all sorts of other materials, spread over a series of desks, shelves, and tables.*

"Is everything ok?" *She asked when he appeared. He'd only had time to give her some brief orders after the final match so she wasn't entirely sure what he was planning.*

"For now." *He nodded distractedly.* "Sorry, but I don't have time to explain the whole thing. We're having a party with the others in about forty five minutes at the house and I there's a lot of stuff here I need to go over before then."

"I understand." *Virgo had been with Josiah long enough trust him and she knew he'd tell her everything when there was time.* "Is there anything else I can do?"

"Would you mind sending those messages I had you write? You know who they go to."

"No problem." *She picked up a small stack of paper.* "I'll see you at the party then." *Virgo leaned in and gave him a quick kiss.*

"Yeah. See you then." *Josiah replied as she headed off.*

((Just so you know, the room I'm in is hidden so you guys can't find me right now.))

(FYI-I changed on of Roc Eagles moves. I changed one to Chinook. Chinook is a wind that comes from the mountains and is extremly hot. This happens 1-3 times in Alberta during winter, so one moment you could be wearing winter jackets, and in a flash, you would be in shorts. Really messes up farming though.)

"A shrine maiden?" Opal listened to Elder Codo. "Alright, I'll do it. Eventually, if we have nothing planned right now." She sighed, knowing the group is always busy. "Thanks again." She smiled, slipping away the card. "Now where is Silver..." Opal asked herself, looking for the boy.

"Please help me find Josiah. He's the best person to talk to about all this. After all he is the champion is he not?"
Yomikko nodded
"Good. Lets find him"

They both go of looking for Josiah.
Emiel joins the, not really knowing what's going on.

Jeff was walking around with Ibun looking for Josiah's place.

"You'd think all my tours of duty would have improved my sense of direction..." Jeff muttered.

Ibun just grinned and kept walking by his partner, noting the furrowed and dark look in Jeff's expression. The cat-like creature felt tempted to ask Jeff what was on his mind, but decided against asking considering Jeff needed to heal from the crazyness that that Shauni-girl caused today.

Then something caught Ibun's eye: a strange figure in a torn blue cloak was walking among the people in the crowd. Ibun mouthed an invective before Jeff called his partner to hurry up.

Taking one last glance at the stranger, Ibun turned tail and took off after Jeff.

The ghost of the Guardian watched as the soldier and the cat-man walked off and dissappeared into the crowd... then the Guardian flickered and vanished... 

(Looks like you'll guys have an "unexpected" guest at your party... *grin*)

Shauni sat atop the roof of the buliding and sighed.

She glanced down at Jeff as he walked away from the arena.

She spoted suddeny an image of a figure flicker in and then vanish
"The guardian is here...." she quoted
She lept from the buliding down to ground level
"Come out guardian. We need to talk! " she bellowed "Ive senced you watching me. I have a few questions for you"
Shauni's eyes where soft and cler. This is good shauni.

"Daughter of Hellfire, the Guardian stands with you." a fatherly voice spoke from behind.

Shauni spun around in surprise, the Guardian's gentle eyes greeting her. The Guardian seemed ghostly, his robes flickering in the breeze... and he was a transparent as a clean glass of water.

"Go and speak. I will listen."

Shauni's eyes flickered a pure white in a strange recognition of the guardian
"I only wish to know two thing. Who are you and why are you watching me. I sense a mythical weapon upon you...one that is sister to my own. Tell me...do you truly hold the Archangel?"
She lent further forward
"Speck guardian. What is your purpose here?"

"I am the Guardian of Haven. My life before has long passed on. The man I was, I can no longer be. Nameless to the ages I must remain... I harken and listen to the whims of this living world to which I am now bound. Servant of to which I know I do not belong but am still part of just the same..."

"I watch as a father would over his daughter. I seek only for your well being... for you and I are destruction just the same.. but we both have the power to make things right again."

"As for my purpose..." the Guardian's image begain to flicker, "... My purpose is unclear... as unclear as the code of a virus made into a glitch. I seek only to protect... To harken... To listen... To serve. The Archangel is my guide, as the blade keeps me sane. Without the sacred tool, I would be just another beast... another lost soul with an altered mind." the Guardian flickered again, "... I seek only to protect... To harken... To listen... To serve..."

"... to what end... I have yet to know... I seek only to protect... To harken... To listen... To serve..."

The last few phrases sounded garbled as the Guradian faded away. 

All Shauni could hear was one word in those garbled phrases: "Simeon."

(( A little tid-bit: Archangel is actually the name of a scripting program often used in some Visual Basic MMORPGs. I kinda wanted people to catch this, but seeing as it's not as widespread as I thought it was, I might as well come out with it... ^^;; ))
