The hollow's mask was removed in a none-too gentle manner, but at least it was off. And thus Kusa was allowed to regain his former self. However, he had sustained enough injuries and had lost enough blood that he immediately fell to the ground. Before he lost consciousness, he remembered feeling an overwhelming sense of fear, fear of everybody around him. "They're going to kill me...", he thought before he passed out.

Kaoru lowered his ring blade and moved to walk towards his younger brother, but he was abruptly ordered to stop.

"Don't go near him, Kaoru. Nobody attempt to wake him or heal his injuries, understood? By every right, he should be executed on the spot... But... No, we'll deal with that once we're through with the little girl.", Rune said, mentally ordering his shuriken back into the space surrounding him. He closed his eyes with a grim expression.

Bael never was one for listening to orders. He knelt down and picked Kusa up, retreating quickly before anybody could say a thing.

"So...bored...can't....talk....in complete....sentences..." Marley said as he sat in his room, bored out of his skull. "I really wish i had gone with them....Oh well, they are probably getting chopped up or something..."

"Kusa!" Kaoru watched as his brother was abducted by the still-injured Bael. It didn't send him into a complete panic because he trusted that Bael wouldn't actually harm Kusa unless Kusa posed a real threat, and that simply wasn't the case at the moment. But he was still concerned over how much trouble both of them would get into later.

Rune frowned as Bael left the immediate area but he couldn't be entirely too mad at him. In truth, he felt slightly confused about how to react to Kusa's existence as a Vizard and the fact that he had kept it hidden from everyone. So he chose instead to focus on the mission at hand. It was still their duty to protect Rai from the little girl. He walked over to the child and began as assesment of the state she was in.

(Kusa is still out-cold.)

Rath had meanwhile passed out from the injury. And now he was waking up, looking around. "Wh... whats going on... Where's Kusa and Bae-chan...?"

Bael arrived at a undisclosed location, one only he and Kusa knew about. He set the boy down on the bed and moved over to the sink, grabbing a bowl along the way. He poured cold water into the bowl, and moved back to Kusa. I'm sure you can piece together what happened next.

As the cold water soaked through his hakama and made contact with his skin, Kusa jolted upright in bed with a cry of suprise. It took him a moment to realize where he was. The wounds he had recieved earlier were still causing him pain, combined with a fit of shivering caused by the cold water. He slowly turned to look over at Bael. "What's going on? Shouldn't I be dead?"

"You should be." He said as he grabbed Kusa's collar, lifting him up, putting him aganist the wall. "What the hell happened? You told me you could keep that under control." He said with a slight snarl.

Kusa gasped as he was forcefully shoved against the wall. When he was able to focus again, his eyes glazed over. He raised his hand and placed it on Bael's arm. "When that little girl attacked me... I lost all of my control, I wasn't able to keep it. And then...", he faultered. "You should just kill me now. Not only would you be eliminating a threat, but it would end a world of pain." The younger shinigami was still shivering and pain was still coursing through his battered body.

Bael sighed, dropping him, stepping back. "You know I can't do that..." he turned around, and walked over to the window, looking out. "You can't return to the soul society now... What are you going to do?"

Kusa remained in a sort of sitting position on the floor where he had been dropped. "I should be asking you the same thing, Bae-chan... After helping me, it's not like you can just go back and say, 'Oh, I made a mistake.' That won't work..." He then looked up at the other shinigami, seeing only Bael's back turned to him. "You can kill me... I don't understand why you said you can't. It would be such a reprieve, you know. I've been living on borrowed strength all this time. It would be nice not to have to worry anymore... Although, I would miss everybody. But that doesn't matter anymore since I can't see them ever again anyway." The boy closed his eyes again, letting his head fall forward.

"I know!" said Yuki, popping out of nowhere "We can go back to the living world!" Of course, Yuki was just looking for an excuse to go back.

Rai lied in the infimary through the fight, sensing the random bursts of spirit energy. He used the time that Kusa had shocked everyone to escape. "This place is insane, got to find a way out!" he said, thinking about the figure of Kusa that he had just seen.

Bael quickly reached around and lifted Yuki up by her shirt. "Listen, you can't come with us. Go back to the Soul Society."

"But..." Yuki replied.

Bael responded in a loud, menacing voice. "NOW." He dropped the girl, watching her scurry away. (Sorry Shans, Yuki is NOT coming with them.)

He turned back to Kusa. "It's obvious neither of us can return now. So what are we going to do."

Kusa was still recovering from having Yuki randomly pop up between them. He held his head, sighing. "That girl..." Then he abruptly got serious again. "Well, she does have a point. We can go to the other world and work free lance on killing hollows. We'll just have to be really careful and sneaky about it, since the other shinigami will probably be looking for us. What do you think, Bae-chan?"

"Its too risky. I'd rather everyone think we died. It'd be for the best." He sighed. "I hate the human world..." He grumbled out, turning to Kusa.

^ ^;; "Okay, okay... I get it. It's a bad idea and you don't want to do it. But your suggestion probably won't work either. Yuki will tell them that we're perfectly fine and... Oh, crap! She's gonna tell them where we are right now. We'd better scram outta here." Kusa jumped up and grabbed his scythe, prepared to leave in a hurry.
