For a while, I've been using a site called pixlr.com to draw some stuff. (Since I don't have photoshop.) The site, from what my friend, who has photoshop, says, is on par with photoshop. So, what I've drawn is about what I could make if I had photoshop.

These are just some quick sketches of pokemon I've made:

And these are just some pokemon sprites. I...really don't know what to call the technique I used...I didn't use any other pokemon other then the original, but it's not a total scratch sprite...hmmm...(I also used original colors and did the shading by myself):

The drawings are pretty good. But, being an advanced Photoshop user myself, I feel confident saying that pixlr is not on par with Photoshop, at least not if you know how to use most of Photoshop's features (a basic or intermediate user may not notice as much of a difference). It's pretty impressive for a free web based image editor though.

Hmmm...I see.

Well, I finally have some new sprites! Although...these are different. They're self sprites! Yes, my first self sprites that I have decided to post here. (I've made others, but they weren't as good.)

Image

Oh yeah, I you're wondering what's up with my left arm, it's robotic (not really, but that would be kind of cool.), and also, yes, my skin really is that pale. >_>

EDIT: Now I have some sprites holding my lightsaber, and some walking! And some doing both! Oh, the 5 lowest sprites? Yes, those are robotic replicas of myself. When would I need those? Who knows, but they'd be pretty cool to have!

If you're talking about the Hitmontop and Pidgey, I think pixlr.com calls that brush/pencil/whatever "Sketchy" style. I just liked the look of it when I was making the pokemon sketches.

Out of curiousity, did you use a base for those sprites or make them entirely from scratch?

Entirely from scratch. It's actually kind of fun making sprites like that, even if it is a bit tedious.

That it can be. Especially when you have a dozen different sheets to do like I did for Car Washer... Nice job though.

...So...normally, here I would give a brief explanation of the character/sprite/art I just posted...so I will.
Well, I made this guy, Zeik*, while both very tired, and trying to wake up with a lot of coffee. Therefore, he turned out...umm...random?...Well, I guess that was the point of the character.

Point: I wanted to make a really random guy, and, I believe I succeeded. I wanted him to wear something very random, with bright, odd colors, but nothing you wouldn't be able to find in a clothing store/mall. (Well, maybe not the scarf. I've never seen a red scarf with an orange stripe running down the length of it, and neon light blue tassels.)
How I decided on him having blue hair, I was originally going for blue hair with electric blue highlights, but I didn't do it. Why? I have trouble making highlights in hair. I have enough trouble figuring out where the shading goes.

Also, I must state this point...looking at Zeik makes me really want to comment on his attire. I mean, really? Wearing both sweat bands and a scarf? A red scarf with a purple tank top? If he loses the scarf, it would be fine, but then you need to add another neck-accessory. A bow-tie maybe? Necklaces are common, but fashionable...Oh man...he brings out my (and probably everyone else) inner fashionista! Arg....Wait, is he wearing long shorts**, or short pants? They're below his knees but...AGH.

{Goodness, thinking of his wardrobe, it's going to be fun dressing him up in much more random clothing items!~}

(*Zeik: pronounced: Zeek)
(**That name contradicts itself...)

Double post! Woo!

Okay, so, since October is...*checks calendar* two months away, I thought I would start on my yearly Halloween sprites! "Why now?", you may be wondering. Well, I'm one of those people that likes getting things done way ahead of schedule.

Since last year, my theme was zombies, I was wondering what I could do this year. Just then, I heard my mom listening to one of those Ghost Hunters shows, and I got an awesome idea. Ghosts! (I was going to ask people on here or some of my school friends for ideas, but...Oh well!) I won't be using ghost type pokémon for these sprites for a, hopefully, obvious reason.

So, I have two sprites done right now. Depending on how the pokémon died, they have different injuries to them. Please realize that these, and most sprites to come, may be a bit...umm...bloody.

Image - Death by: Multiple bullet wounds

Feel free to ask for a custom ghost sprite! (I need something to keep me...not bored!)

Extras: (Examples: Violent death? [makes them more angry/have more injuries] Include weapon? [As in the first sprite] A lot or a little bit of blood? Etc.)

So, I'm still working on my Halloween sprites (still insanly ahead of schedule!), although, I have gotten into an interesting form of (as most people call it) pixel art. I use my straight line tool to make sketch-like things. It's kind of tedious, but fun. (And sometimes, I color in the sketches, although, then I get a bit [for lack of a better word] OCD with the shading...) Anyway, here's an example of what I've been doing.

Image - Wow, look at all of that detail in the iris! (The colors here are actually pretty close to my actual eye colors. Also, you have no idea how long I spent staring at my own eye in a mirror to get the color and size as close as I did.) And, goodness, I'm pretty sure some people would love to have such a perfect eyebrow. I mean, seriously.

A) That's an amazing eye! I can never draw realistic eyes. Nice job with the shading!

B) OMG WE TOTALLY HAVE THE SAME EYEBALLS (er, irisis, at least) THOSE LOOK JUST LIKE MINE

Excellent detail on the eye, Poison! I think it can put up a good staring contest with anybody, haha. That must've taken a lot of effort. Excellent work!
