5th Genereation confirmed?
Re: 5th Genereation confirmed?
Or a tuncan, I love tucans. A roadrunner would be pretty cool too. Or heck, even a duck. They haven't done a duck pokémon yet...

Re: 5th Genereation confirmed?
I always assumed Farfetch'd was a duck.
EDIT: I just fininshed looking at some new in game pics, and I think there's goingto be a bug type gym since one of the pics looked like the male trainer was in some sort of honeycomb with a green floor that looked like it was either grass or a painted metal floor.

This is my RP Forum, Tales of Symphonia Adventures, or ToSA for short. Please take a look?

Re: 5th Genereation confirmed?
Psyduck. Psy...duck.
That is all.
That is all.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Re: 5th Genereation confirmed?
Yes, but Psyduck was a Water type. I think what they meant was that they haven't done a duck that was a Flying type. Maybe the duck should be a Water/Flying type...
Also, I don't know why, but I always imagined a peacock Pokemon to be a Fire or Psychic type.

Re: 5th Genereation confirmed?
Actually, despite the name, psyduck just doesn't really look like a duck. And yeah, a true "duck" pokémon should be water/flying.

Re: 5th Genereation confirmed?
I sort of see it as a Platypus/duck hybrid. It has the bill, the webbed feet, the goofy looking face. It's just that stands upright and has flipper things more than wings. I wouldn't say that compromises its duckiness any more than Loppuny standing on two legs and being furry-bait inhibits its rabbitness.
So really, this whole thing only leaves one question: duck season or rabbit season?

Re: 5th Genereation confirmed?
There already is bug gym though, we need gyms for the types that still haven't gotten any. Which would be... Dark and Ghost, I think.

Re: 5th Genereation confirmed?
Nah, there were Ghost gyms in the 2nd and 4th gens.
From what I can tell, the most common gym typings appear to be Rock, Fighting, Electric and Water. The least common are Ground, Dragon, Bug, Poison and Dark.

Kanto-
Rock (Brock)
Water (Misty)
Electric (Lt. Surge)
Grass (Erika)
Poison (Koga/Janine)
Psychic (Sabrina)
Fire (Blaine)
Ground/None (Giovanni/Blue)

Ice (Lorelai)
Fighting (Bruno)
Ghost(Agatha)
Dragon (Lance)

So there is a Bug type gym, but just the one. There hasn't been one since second gen, nor has there been a Dragon gym since then. There hasn't been a Poison or Ground gym since first. There has never been a Dark gym. Rock, Water, and Electric gyms have been present in all but second. Fighting has been present in all but first, and you could argue for the pseudo-gym in Saffron. There were no type repeats in first and second gen, and if you include Karen of the Elite Four, the Johto games had a specialist in every type. Falkner is the best Gym Leader. Psychic, Ghost, Ground, Dragon, Ice, and Dark have two Elite Four representatives each, with Lance being present twice to make Dragon the most common type. Agatha claims to use the Ghost type, but all of her Pokemon are Poison type (excepting the Misdreavus she gains second round in FR/LG). Normal, Electric, Flying, Rock, and Grass have never been used specifically by the Elite Four, though most have been present through dual typing. No member of the Elite Four has ever used an Electric type, however. In both the first and forth generations, the Champion used a balanced team rather than a single type.
Am I missing anything?

Re: 5th Genereation confirmed?
Not that I know of, but with Agatha the only ghost type in the first 150 pokemon is ghastly and its evolutions... which are also poison type (even though the don't learn any poison type move by lv up) might explain why the rest of her pokemon are part/poison though.Silver wrote:So there is a Bug type gym, but just the one. And for the 2nd gen, we only got Misdreavus.
3rd gen we got Shedinja, Sableye, Shuppet and Banette, Duskull and Dusclops.
4th Gen there’s, Drifloon and Drifblim, Spiritomb, Froslass, Giratina and Rotom. They gave us Mismagius and Dunoir for evolved forms of current pokemon.
So far in total we have 18 including evolution stages for ghost types… (23 if you want to include rotoms forms.)
And just cause I have nothing else to do atm;
Bug; 47
Dark; 23
Dragon; 20 (7 of which are legendaries)
Electric; 28 (33 including all of rotoms forms)
Fighting; 25
Fire; 33
Flying; 65
Grass; 56
Ground; 48
Ice; 22
Normal; 80
Poison; 50
Psychic; 53
Rock; 37
Steel; 26
Water; 93
So if you take out starters it drops, fighting; 21, fire; 21, flying; 64, grass; 44, ground; 45, poison; 47, steel; 25, water; 81
Ignoring Arceus, we have no bug, fighting, or poison legendaries…
And I think I’m gonna go find something more productive to do now.
I want them to do that a well, although if they do I'd want it to be on the Wii, or whatever comes after the wii, and also be able to personalize the characters a bit mor rather then the standard female/male characers we get.White_Samurai wrote:[That reminds me... Re: 5th Genereation confirmed?
What I'm hoping for is something Nintendo will never do. A Pokemon game with all regions in it, in the form of... an MMORPG. It wouldn't be hard to get all regions in, start off with Kanto and add the others as expansions. They'd make a killing that way too, seeing as we'd all be buying four games worth. The Pokemon world is structured like one anyway if you think about it; just replace all those NPC trainers with real people and that's what you'd get. Unfortunately, Nintendo hates letting people freely online like that for censorship purposes... plus it's something I don't think even the Wii could really pull off. So it'll probably stay as just a dream...
