Main series wise, yes, they're older than the previous main trainers. The series as a whole, Wes still seems like the oldest main trainer.

Wes was the main character in Colisseum.
As for main character ages though...it doesn't really matter. If Gamefreaks actually decides to write a deeper story it'd work regardless of whether the characters are 12 or 18 (see the Pokémon Adventure manga) and if they just stick with the collect gym badges and defeat a rather inept evil team plot, well having "older" characters won't really make a difference.

Yea, it'll be more fun too, now you will probably hear 'you brat' less often (hopefully) and maybe, just maybe they'll make the villain grunts a bit harder... I'm sick of battling Zubat, Wurmple, Koffing and Glameow >.< (Platinum and HG)

Speaking of Black and White, I just hope no one tries to sue Nintendo for being racist because of it. I mean, Sony got sued over an ad compaign in Europe where they promoted the new white PSP over the old black one...

They were practically asking to be sued about it.
I don't see Nintendo having a problem with it, unless someone complains that they were mislead by the titles and they see no black Pokemon trainers.

Fair point, that ad was pushing it. That said though, it wouldn't at all surprise me if someone sues Nintendo because Pokémon Black doesn't have any black trainers in it. I mean, someone tried to sue Lucas because they didn't think there were enough female pilots in Star Wars...

We'll I've seen pics for the main characters and Best Female Character -Ever- Seriously finally one that screams out my name...
The starters um well... Not really impressed with them... The grass one looks to be the best... the fire is cute but i'm worried about its evolved forms... and the water just looks wrong to me for some reason...

I also second the thing about the starters, Grass looks cool-ish, the fire one.... I hope the latter evolved forums are cooler.... for it's sake... and the water one... *barf* The nose is just too ugly >.<'
